Sometimes doing the right thing is hard and it requires "tough love." As a parent of a heroin addict, I am eternally grateful to Ben, Alia and the staff for turning my son's life around. He had taken drugs since he was 15 years old and tried many programs over the years, always relapsing. At 23 years old, I feel like Phoenix Rising finally was able to effectively reach him and turn his life around. Today, he is celebrating 7 months clean and has the most confidence in himself that I have ever seen! Ben has really gone out of his way to reach my son, taking him step by step to get his life back together. I feel like Ben has been very approachable in communicating with us about our son's progress and the steps to take next. Recovery is a long road and we take it one day at a time. Having collaborative services available in one setting increases success for clients to overcome things that have been holding them prisoners within themselves. Phoenix Rising is truly a diamond in the rough. I struggled to find quality treatment in Orange County until I was introduced to Ben and Alia. They became family and made me feel safe and comfortable to open up and face my addiction. I have struggled with alcoholism for 10 years now and after my son passed away a few months ago, I didn't think I would be able to stay sober.
