Hello, I'm Phil Pearl I provide life and executive coaching, personal training and clinical hypnotherapy. My focus is confidence and strength for mind and body. Mental Toughness

Gym work, if it is to be successful, requires a certain mind-set, attitude and philosophy that keeps you committed and helps you overcome barriers and setbacks: this is called Mental Toughness. Let's be honest, gym work is not too complicated - it's basically picking things up and putting them down again. However, what is complicated is our motivation, emotions and commitment, this is why we often fail in our exercise and diet goals
Training Approaches

I apply a "whole body approach" to training. This means that all of you will be stronger, leaner and fitter. I will work with you to keep your exercise plan interesting, varied and effective. Approaches to training include cardiovascular exercises, free-weights, resistance machines, kettle bells, suspension exercises (TRX), bodyweight exercises and calisthenics.

You Can Do It!

You may be just starting out or need to get more out of your current training or perhaps you are just disillusioned and frustrated with your progress. Getting in shape takes an investment in time and energy but the benefits are worth the effort. It's just a matter of committing yourself to action again and again. I'm over 50 and if I can do it, then so can you! You are welcome to call me for a no obligations discussion to see if I can help.

Confidence and Courage to Live

My approach to coaching, training and hypnotherapy is based on:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and

Existential Coaching and Philosophy.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy involves looking at our thoughts, and beliefs and the resulting consequences to our emotions, behaviour, actions and physiology. Our thinking and beliefs regarding ourselves, other people and the world impact our actions and the goals we set ourselves. If our thinking is restricted, then we are constrained in our actions and what we can achieve in life. This affects our self-belief and our confidence to engage fully with the challenges of living and everyday life.

Existential Coaching and Philosophy takes into consideration our perspectives within the givens of existence and the contingencies of life, such as freedom, solitude, relationships, meaning in life, aging and death. Within coaching we can seek some deeper meaning to the bigger questions that life throws at us, such as "What's it all for and what does it mean?", "What am I doing with my life and what do I want?", "Who am I and who do I want to be?", What do I value and how do I fit in?". I believe that at its heart, Mental Toughness is Existential Toughness; facing the challenges, absurdities and limits of life with courage, in order to find meaning and purpose in existence.
