Pete was our wedding photographer. We are so pleased with the way he captured our special day. He was flexible on the day which meant that we managed to get photos with most of our guests as well as the events throughout the day. He also made sure we had some of our own special photos to remember the day with. He listened to our ideas before the wedding day and ensured we had the day captured for us. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The more photography I do, the more I believe that good photos are produced from good understanding and relationship. If you understand your client's ambitions and desires you will undoubtably shoot great images. If you build good relationships with clients they will feel more comfortable around you. This is crucial to achieving good images, particularly in portraiture and weddings.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It entirely depends on the nature of the project and subject matter. More than likely I'd love to know what you're trying to achieve, what a successful project would look like to you and what excites you about the subject matter.
What do you love most about your job?
I love photography because it's normally centred around people and stories. Photography is a hugely powerful art form that, if mastered, can speak 1000 words. Being invited in to people's businesses, projects even their lives is an incredibly humbling and personal experience. I never take it for granted!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Quite simply, I loved photography! I wanted to make photography a part of my work life and experience a variety of people and projects.
