From the first time my husband and I met Pete, we knew he would do an amazing job of our wedding photography. His communication was great before the wedding so we knew exactly what was going to happen on the day. From the instant he got there he made myself, my bridesmaids and flower girl feel really at ease with him taking our photos. He captured the fun of the day in a completely non formal way which was exactly what we wanted. Lots of our guests commented on how it seemed as if we already knew each other, because we clicked so well. He seemed to be everywhere on the day and taking photos of all the key moments, yet he was completely unobtrusive and melted into the wedding guests. Where do I begin? Pete was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! When I first met pete on my actual wedding day he got stuck in straight away and made everyone feel so at ease with having their pictures taken, he made the whole process so enjoyable and easy. Not only that he was able to banter on with everyone which made it such fun! He kept us informed the whole process when editing our pictures and when we recieved the final product we were blown away! we both absolutely adore all the photos of our special day (which is making it so hard to pick one to be made into a canvass) they show our wedding perfectly, everyone having fun, dancing and laughing which is how we both will always remember it. I first met Pete at a friends wedding in 2016 and immediately booked marked him for my own (when the day would come). He was the first vendor I booked when I got engaged in 2017 and I will forever recommend him to anyone I get the chance to. Pete is the perfect balance of professional and approachable. I found wedding planning very difficult, but every step along the way organising photography was very easy with him. After the wedding, he maintained contact, updating us at every step, feeding us plenty of sneak peaks to share with family and friends and it was one of the quickest turn arounds I've ever seen for edits being ready. Contact is so important with vendors and Pete outshone them all. On the day he was a calming addition to the 'getting ready' process and maintained this throughout the day, especially with myself and my husband being nervous in front of the camera. Of all the weddings I've been to Pete is undoubtedly one of the least intrusive photographers I've come across, meaning that the guests don't feel bombarded and the photos capture the true essence of the day. As happens there were organisational hiccups through out the day, but Pete was incredibly flexible with what we kept changing, and helped us remember that the day was about us. The photos are stunning. Truly. As a plus-size bride I was nervous about receiving the pictures but he has a way of making people feel incredibly comfortable, like you're just hanging out with a friend, and the photos reflect this. Capturing detail was as important to us as capturing guests and he struck the perfect balance of friends and family, the bride and groom and the tireless detail we had all put into the day. If you're looking for a friendly addition, to capture what your day and what your love FEELS like, there's no one else to do it but Pete. Peter photographed our wedding back in October- he did an incredible job from start to finish (a 12 hour day, at least!) and went the extra mile for us, in agreeing to shoot some photos on 35mm, along with the usual digital shots. I think this is probably a great rarity, so it was lovely to work with someone who was so accommodating and flexible to our needs, with not a whiff of a whinge from Pete! Pete has been a pleasure to work with and has always been easy to make contact with- so many brides seem to have problems in this area, but Pete's never been less than prompt, clear and courteous in his communication. Pete is fairly new to the 'wedding photography' business and I know for some people, they maybe feel they are taking a 'risk' in booking someone with a smaller portfolio; however, Pete's talent and creativity is in no way compromised by this- his photos are testament to that, alone. You just have to look at the breadth and variety of shots he has taken at different weddings to appreciate his skill in both natural/voyeuristic shots as, too, more posed or orchestrated photos. Peter Hugo was very professional and made everyone feel so relaxed throughout the day. He was discreet when we needed him to be and he captured all the photographs we wanted and many many more. When the photographs arrived, we instantly looked through them all and it was like re-living the day; Peter had captured every moment exactly how we remembered them and told the story of our wedding perfectly. I would definitely recommend an engagement shoot. I don’t particularly like having my photo taken, so the engagement shoot really helped. I was able to get to know Peter and get used to him taking photographs of me. It also meant that I knew what he was going to do on the wedding day and I was so much more relaxed. Pete is fantastic! his photos are beautiful! .. We had so much fun having Pete photograph our wedding, felt like a friendly addition to our day. In the nicest way possible, I forgot he was there haha.. he didn't intrude, wasn't bossy but got all the photos we wanted. He just came took great photos and made us giggle! Pete came smartly dressed and fitted in with the rest of the wedding party which is what we wanted. He caught some lovely moments which myself and my husband hadn't seen. From the moment we first contacted Pete, we didn’t look back! I first spoke to him on the phone and then we met a few months later for an engagement shoot - something that I would highly recommend for anyone who would like a little practice in front of the camera (or would like their other half to feel a little more at ease! ) and of course it was great to meet Pete face to face and see him work his magic with his camera! On the wedding day, it was a pleasure to have Pete with us, documenting our day in his own special way. I had a very clear image from the off of the kind of wedding photos I wanted. Chris hates having his photo taken and every photo you’ll see of him over on Instagram literally makes him look like he hates life. I really didn’t want 1000 posed shots of him looking miserable and knew I wanted some really natural shots which showed our family and friends feeling comfortable and having fun. I know not everyone likes having their photo taken (I’m one of those people when I haven’t got control of the camera!) so I really wanted to limit down the number of ‘posed’ photos we had.We chose Peter Hugo Photograpy for our wedding photos and I could not have been happier. I went to university with Petes girlfriend Ellie so I’ve seen his work via her facebook page for the last six years. When we got engaged there was only one person I wanted to take our photos as his photo style encompassed everything I wanted our photos to be – some posed photos but mainly just unposed photos of people enjoying themselves.Pete was an absolute pleasure to work with from our first email to last. I am genuinely upset that the whole process is over because he has been such a little gem. Pete drove down from his home town of County Durham on the morning of the wedding and came to my mums house where myself and the bridesmaids were getting ready. He snapped away, never making us feel uncomfortable or on edge.Some of the photos he got of us all there before the wedding are some of my favourites. He then met us at the church where he captured some truly special moments, then we went off to the woods to take some photos of just me and Chris. We have very few photos together so I’m so pleased that they are everything I had hoped! I love how he has edited them and the greenery looks so good in contrast with Chris’ tweed suit and ginger beard.All of our friends and family commented on how much of a nice lad Pete is, and I think that is so important – you don’t want someone who is going to make your friends and family feel on edge or like they are being watched; Pete managed to capture the very essence of our wedding and caught our family and friends just as we see them – relaxed and happy. Within one day of the wedding we had our first sneak peak photograph and it was perfect. I wore converse on our wedding and Pete captured those, our king (Malc the Dog) and Chris’ suit all in one. I think it is one of my favourite photos of the day (so much so that I used it for the Thank You Cards..!) and just makes me smile whenever I see it.We had a couple of other sneak peeks online and Pete kept me up to date throughout the whole process. Within 3 weeks of the wedding we had a beautiful presentation box sent through to us with a few prints inside it and a memory stick containing all our photos. I instantly welled up when I saw the photos. He had captured everything I could have hoped for. I don’t know how to put into words just how grateful I am to him for everything he did and all his hard work.I would wholeheartedly recommend him for any kind of occasion. From my first meeting with Peter I knew I wanted him as our photographer, not only because his photos were amazing, but I just knew he would fit right in! Our couples shoot was amazing, and the photos turned out perfectly, despite me knowing that we are not the easiest couple (Mike) to work with. On the day itself he fit in perfectly with all our guests, took amazing photos and made the day itself even better for us, he felt more like a guest and a friend than he did someone we paid to take photos of us. He completely understood what we wanted from our photographs, and from the few sneak peaks we have had I just know every single photo is going to be outstanding. Throughout the day we had so many people tell us just what a nice guy Peter is, and how he went over and above for us, including wading barefoot in a stream! Both myself and Mike (and my bridesmaids, and guests) feel like we have made a friend and we are gutted he’s not going to be at every gathering with us! Superb pictures, was never guilty of the usual tropes of herding people into staged groups and bossing people around (as per the photographer at my wedding! ) and seamlessly blended into the throng all day taking some wonderful natural shots and capturing the day perfectly. My husband and I got married October this year and were lucky to have such a fantastic photographer. Pete was absolutely fantastic. Right from day one from working with Pete he was always so quick to responding to emails in regards to any queries we had. We were impressed right from the beginning. On the wedding day Pete impressed us even more with how well he blended in with everybody and also got on with everybody so well. He captured so many beautiful natural shots and also was so great with everyone when we were taking the group shots. Right from start to finish Pete was a fantastic photographer. After the wedding day so many friends and family came to us and told us how friendly they thought Pete was. When Pete sent us the finished photographs we were blown away. The photographs were not only stunning but Pete managed to capture so many moments that I completely forgot about or didn't take in properly on the day (as there's only so much a bride can take in on her wedding day :P ). A lot of photographers can take good pictures but not many can do what Pete did and make a story out of the photographs. If I could give Pete 10 stars out of 5 on Facebook, I would. Pete recently photographed our wedding and has previously photographed a couple of events which I have organised and cannot fault this professionalism, cool photography style and having the ability to capture exactly what you want and more! As someone who feels massively anxious with having their photo taken, Pete listened to my worries and put me at ease, he also blended in perfectly with our guests on our special day and everyone commented how impressed they were with him. We are totally over the moon with our photographs, Pete goes the extra mile to present them in a gorgeous wooden box, something which we will treasure forever. Over the past few years I've had the absolute pleasure of doing 2 photo-shoots with Pete. There aren't many people that I would trust to share such an intimate moment such as proposing with, but I jumped at the chance to have Pete capture our special moment. Pete secretly communicated with me over the course of a month to organise my big surprise, and provided excellent suggestions for how and where I should propose (He was also a phenomenal middle man for hiding the ring before the big moment). The turnover for the photos after the shoot was immensely fast, the photos were breathtaking, and beautifully packaged. I've never come across a photographer so natural and as likeable as Pete, and couldn't recommend another professional as highly as him. In a day and age where everyone has the ability to take their own photographs and edit them, sometimes it's tempting to take photos of an event yourself. However, after seeing the photos of my graduation, not only do I love them, but the difference in quality between what I or family would take, and a professional photographer is blatently clear. What sticks Pete out in comparison to other photographers? The effort and passion that goes into his work. Pete was up first thing to come up with me and my family to go to Newcastle. He was friendly and charismatic with my family, and was always patient and understanding when I needed to him to wait elsewhere during my graduation ceremony. He is always happy to take whatever photograph you need, and will show you the photos he has taken during the day. You get more than your money's worth with Pete. The photos Pete takes are fantastic, from lovely angles for posed shots, from capturing the moment when taking natural photos of us all. Despite hundreds of photos taken, Pete manages to choose the very best ones, and you can tell they have been edited with much thought and time spent on them. In addition to the actual photos, the presentation in how they are delivered are wonderful. It comes in a lovely wooden box with his logo, filled with some prints of his favourite shots, and a realy cool wooden USB stick. This is the icing on the cake of all round great experience and will most definitely be requring Pete's photographic talent and skills for future special or professional events. Where do I even start? I have seen Pete's photography grow and develop over the last few years since we had a mutual friend on Facebook. As soon as I got engaged I knew there was only one person I wanted to do our photos, and luckily he was available to do it! Pete is a great guy, who put us all at ease and captured everything we wanted from the day! Everything was edited and sent within 3 weeks and they really are exactly what I wanted. I've loved seeing sneak peaks on his page throughout the process and I am so sad it is all over! Everything has been completely seamless and he is a joy to work with. Pete was there for the start of the day and captured some memories I will cherish, getting ready with my friends and parents. Pete was such a fantastic photographer for our wedding. In the planning and lead up to it he was very approachable, communicative and happy to answer all of our questions. When it came to the wedding day he was so friendly and laid-back, he really did put everyone at ease. We had a lively ceilidh in the evening and Pete got really involved to get some brilliant pictures. He went above and beyond and stayed later than he needed to, which we really appreciated. The photos he got were warm, candid and relaxed and were a perfect reflection of our day. The photobox we recieved after iis a beautiful memento that we will treasure. Pete made us feel really comfortable like someone we had known for years, he felt more like a friend to us. Communication before and after the wedding, was great. Pete is not only an absolutely wonderful photographer, he is also a wonderful person. Me and my partner had a couple's shoot done with Pete and the whole experience was amazing from start to finish. Pete is an absolute perfectionist, this can be seen through every aspect of his work, from his interactions with his customers, through to his planning of your day, his photographs, editing and finally the packaged CD and personalised notes. Peter did a shoot for our son when he was 9 months old. Working with kids can be tough but Peter was great, he made my son feel at ease, was so nice and friendly and the pictures were fantastic, so many taken showing so many wonderful features of our boy. Through the whirlwind experience of getting engaged, planning and arranging a wedding and then getting married, the most important thing for us now having experienced it, are the memories of the day. Three months later, we love reminiscing about the build up to the day and the day itself, and what better way to do this than looking through our wedding photos. It was important for us to consider what we wanted in a photographer (my advise would be start with what you don't want). We first came across Peter Hugo Photography through friends of friends on Facebook. We looked through his previous work, and it ticked all of the boxes. The images were natural, relaxed and reflected Peters passion for his profession. Being a little camera shy, we booked an engagement shoot with Peter, as a way of getting to know him and getting used to having this big black lens watching your every move. This was such a nice experience, we went for a walk with our dog, and forgot Peter was there at times. He went above and beyond for us to get some amazing photos, he ruined his shoes in the mud and his trousers were covered in paw prints by the end. Within a day or two we had a huge collection of amazing photos that Peter clearly took the time to edit to such a high standard. Then on the day, Peter was great at getting everyone organised and making sure we had pictures that included all of our guests. He was able to juggle champagne filled guests and the Great British weather to produce yet more amazing photos. All of our guests commented on his personality and how talented he is. He became a bit of a hit with our relatives. Again, it took a couple of days for us to get the photos, which was great having heard from friends who had waited months. We now have so many photos, capturing amazing memories that we haven't been able to choose one favourite. Peter has a great talent, not only for photography, but also for integrating with guests and really getting a feel for you and your family, to produce the best photos. Peter was recommend to me by my Aunty for my wedding. Even from the start, Peter was very enthusiastic in arranging meetings and getting to know both me and my husband. We were able to arrange a price that suited us all :) Peter took pictures of the bridal party getting ready and stayed up to the first dance (which ended up being later than expected) and he happily showed me pictures throughout the day when I asked :) He kept in contact to ensure we knew when we would be receiving the final pictures - which were all fantastic!!
