Founded in 2008, Petal of Light is a Wedding Photography Studio based in San Diego and Orange County. Laurent is our talented Lead Photographer. Born in Spain, raised in France, he has photographed hundreds of weddings all over the world. Laurie is our Creative Director.

Alright, so I guess my review on here for Petal of Light was flagged because I logged in a different way on my phone. Well, I believe my review needs to be seen so I figured out how to get to my main account. Here is my review: Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about Laurent and his team at Petal of Light! My now husband and I got married at the Renaissance Faire in Escondido recently. We had a limited budget and specific requests. Laurent took the time to get to know us a little bit and learn about our particular venue. It was definitely not your typical or traditional wedding and he had some challenges in store to get the right shots. He and his partner managed to capture the seriousness, the humor, and every candid shot there was. In watching the video that I had specifically requested for my nana and papa who could not travel to the event, I was brought back to that amazing day complete with the banter with our officiant and my groom. Laurent spent one hour shooting my small, intimate evening wedding at Balboa Park and managed to capture some extraordinary shots.
Lighting was used effectively and many techniques​ were utilized to enhance each shot. Both narrow and wide depths of field were used to blur the background while keeping the foreground in focus and vice versa.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and love our beautiful photographs.

We booked Petal of Light Photography based on their portfolio, reviews, and all the contacts we had with them via email, over the phone and in person. They seemed very experienced and they were listening to us. They also helped us adjust our schedule to dedicate appropriate time to photography. On our wedding day, they were very professional, organized, and not intrusive during most of the time except for the bride and groom pictures and family pictures when they were directing us and came up with lots of ideas for posing and scenery. The final pictures came out wonderful with a combination of traditional, candid, and artistic pictures. Working with them now on designing our wedding album. Can't wait to see the final product! Our photographer at Petal of Light took care of us from start to finish and was a great help in refining the details of our schedule so we had the appropriate time to have formal pictures and family pictures taken which was very important to us. Besides that, the photos they took during the ceremony were amazingly creative with various angles. We didn't realize all these were taken until we discovered them. The team at Petal of Light including their photographer, videographer, assistant, and later on their designer for our album, were all super nice and professional. Very flexible as well as our schedule didn't turn out as expected. I was 30 minutes late at the ceremony and the reception started 1 hour late. Thank fully, they accommodated us without charging us extra for their additional time, which was not the case of the other vendors. We initially hired Petal of Light to shoot our engagement photos and the results were so amazing that we decided to have them photograph our wedding with a two photographers. They were very professional and followed-up promptly with all communications. They broke down our wedding schedule and suggested several adjustments to maximize the time dedicated to our pictures while not disrupting the whole timeline. They also brought an assistant who was very useful especially to setup and move around the lighting at night as we had chosen several locations for during the evening, outdoors and indoors. Everything went flawlessly. They were directing us for posing during the family and couple pictures which came out wonderful. They made us look like superstars. They also took many candid and photojournalistic pictures that were a total surprise to us as we didn't realize they were shooting during several moments of the wedding.
