I recently visited this store after my carpeted basement was flooded. The experience left me feeling rather fragile and desperate. I had not been to the store before and was not expecting anything good from what looked like a high end flooring store. I was asked if I needed help by Jim on the floor and was amazed that there was still customer service in this world. I was looking for bound carpet of a certain size and installed carpet runner. In spite of the small size of the job he gave me his attention and expertise in design, picking out color and giving me an exact quote and education on carpet. I am particular and left the store without buying to think this over. When I returned to purchase he was great. Told me the time line and exact price, then came to my home to measure to make sure I'd measured right and the color samples with him to ensure I liked the color. Can't tell you how appreciative I was. The installers were on time, clean, respectful of my belongings and very professional. My flooring needs were particularly challenging because of the timing requirements and despite the additionally challenging downtown Chicago location, Performers was able to get the job done and done well. My first phone call set the wheels in motion and I quickly met with the incredibly accommodating sales manager who brought several wood flooring samples for me to choose from. He also stayed within my budget and provided guidance about the different choices. The measurements were taken right away and when the floors were ready for delivery, everything was coordinated with the building in terms of the drop off, hauling away the old floors and installing the new ones. I needed to replace all the flooring in my entire house. It was an overwhelming thought and task. I had decided on Performer Flooring after getting several other quotes. The service I received from start to finish was exceptional. Jim Flynn was my first contact with this company. He was incredible! He helped me navigate through the daunting task of making the final decision amid a sea of samples and possibilities. He never rushed me and was very patient and professional with my many, many questions. A HUGE help! Fast forward to installation. WOW! The crews are filled with dedicated, meticulous, talented individuals. They are so professional and clean! They exceeded my expectations. The gentleman who overseas all this activity, Jerry, was definitely an asset. He made himself available to me for every question or concern I had throughout the project. We recently had a home built and our builder referred us to Performer's Flooring for our tile, carpet, and hardwood floors. We met with John directly and he was able to meet us at a time that was convenient for us. The showroom was amazing and had some really unique styles not seen elsewhere. The displays made it easy to envision what the tile would look like when installed. John knew the selections that were included in our builder package and had them ready for us to look at when we arrived. He spent time listening to our ideas for upgrades and was able to help us find what we were looking for within our budget. We were quite pleased to leave there with some nice upgrades and finishing touches that really have given our home the look we were hoping for.John met with us during our preliminary walk thru in sub-zero weather making sure everything we selected would go according to plan. The installation was perfect. Our tile and carpet have no flaws and our hardwood is beautiful and durable. We have now moved on to the backsplash for our kitchen and have never entertained the thought of going elsewhere. John came out to take measurements and even took photos of our kitchen. When we returned to the showroom he had suggestions for the perfect tile and knew exactly what would complement our kitchen. We have no reservations about recommending Performer's Flooring to anyone. We built a house and were assigned by the builder to use Performer's for all our tile and flooring needs.  Worked with John exclusively and he was great. I definitely put him through the ringer. I compared their quotes to others to ensure we were getting the best possible deal. Just about everything was in line with what I was finding. We had some damage to our floor based on a leaking pipe in our condo. We live in a garden unit so the water drained through the walls and in under the floor destroying a hefty chunk of it.

We had 4 different companies come out and assess the damage and all 4 told us the same thing: old floor, floating floor, will have to replace the entire thing.

Performers had a specific benefit in that since our insurance was paying they were directly connected to the State Farm insurance system and were able to skip the whole 'reimbursement' step. They simply directly billed State Farm & even contracted a moving company to move us in and out (including our piano which is a pain in the ass). Again everything was direct billed and we didn't have to deal with the hassle.

I worked with Roland in the sales department. He was knowledgeable, flexible & able to answer a ton of questions we had about the process as well as which wood we could/should use. He also provided about 100 samples to us per our request because we were changing the entire color scheme.

I worked with Tina in scheduling, she made scheduling very easy and the crew was in contact by phone in advance of showing up and on finishing.

Most important than anything though, our new floors look spectacular and there was no damage to anything else in the house during the work.

The only recommendations I'd have for anyone in a similar situation:
-If State Farm refers you to Performers directly call Performers yourself to speed the process. The referral process can take a few days otherwise and just slows things down.
-If you're out of your house for work to be sure you check in with the crew after 1 day of work. Our floor was finished in 2.5 days after an estimated 4 days. You might get home even sooner depending on progress! More...

Renovating your house can be a fun yet daunting task. When coming to redoing the floors in my house I decided to come to performers flooring. I've always had a disdain for the carpet that I had on my family room and couldn't wait to rip up that 80s shag and put in engineered hardwood. I couldn't believe the level of professionalism I received when I came into the store. I just LOVED the showroom! We had all of our oak floors redone as part of an insurance claim for water damage.  The first attempt by another company was a horrible experience.   They gave us 4 stain color choice options and then when they applied the stain it turned out very blotchy in certain areas.  It was so bad that we were able to get a do over.  We selected Performers and couldn't be happier.  They spent a lot of time explaining the process and helping us choose just the right color which was a mix of multiple stains.  The end result was exactly what we were hoping. Highly recommend shop for all your flooring needs. They have a huge variety, friendly staff, and very reasonable pricing. Our finished hardwood floors look great, and we receive a huge amount of complements. I highly recommend Performers.

A local competitor did a horrendous job refinishing my hardwood floors!! I can't begin to describe how bad they looked. They even got stain all over my walls, woodwork and  toilet. I had Performers out to assess the damage to my floors caused by the other company, and they assured me that they could fix the mess and give me the results I hoped for. They were professional, thorough and went above and beyond to make me happy and bring my floors back from the shoddy job done by the other flooring company. The job they did was exceptional!! Performers did our entire home when we built it last year. John & his team made sure every piece of flooring, bathroom tile, carpet, etc. was perfectly completed. When painters had left overspray on the hardwood, they insisted on re-doing all the hardwood flooring. We trusted them to be in our home while we were out on vacation. They were always very responsive, courteous, knowledgeable and had a variety to choose from in the store. More...

I don't frequently write reviews, but when service exceeds expectation I feel that should be shared. I am so impressed by the professionalism and meticulous work Performers provided. From the moment I walked in the door I was treated with respect and made to feel like I was the most important customer. The selection was extraordinary and the sales people were incredibly patient with me as I made my decisions. They listened to what I had to say and actually heard me, steering me toward the tile that best suited my vision. Installation was phenomenal. They arrived on time, were hard working and very pleasant to have in my home. They cleaned up after themselves and left me with nothing to do but enjoy the finished product, If you are in the market for carpet, hardwood, tile, etc, I highly recommend Performers.
