Perfect Notes is a fantastic place to learn music with fantastic staff. My daughter has been practicing here for over 3 years now, since she was nearly 6 years old.
When I look back to the days she first started,I can see she has developed so much confidence, passion and skills in playing piano. This is one of her proudest achievements at her very young age.
Teachers here, specially Karen, are always approachable and supportive. They make the effort to ensure they are working in the right direction to my daughter's needs and abilities.
I recommend Perfect Notes as a PERFECT place to learn music ,no matter what age you are.

My son started keyboard lessons 2 weeks before the lock down. In only 2 lessons he learnt so much. We got the book Karen suggested for him to practice in the lock down and he's come on so well. I'm so surprised that he can read music already. Karen is a brilliant teacher, she's so patient with him and he can't wait to get back to lessons More...

My son has developed such a passion for learning music since starting here last September. I can't beleive how much he's learnt in such a short time. I saw him perform infront of an audience today for the first time and i was amazed at the ease in which he was performing his instrument and the confidence. Highly recommend Perfect Notes Music School. Thank you very much. More...

An excellent school for all abilities. Having "performed" my way through character roles for the best part of 30 years, I finally took the plunge to learn to sing properly. ..as an adult. Perfect Notes were welcoming and friendly, and assigned me to Rachael. Within one lesson Rachael could cut through my bad habits and give me astute and helpful things to work on - posture when breathing (I have good posture, but it wasn't the best for singing - and I'd never realised until I followed her instructions) and she immediately set to work on my pitching through sight reading exercises which revealed more of my "issues" - and allowed her to suggest ways of managing them. The school's ethos is - anyone can learn - and I fully agree. It is a safe learning space with very dedicated and talented staff and I am really enjoying going back to basics...something I'd been quite nervous of. I'm now being pushed to try out these new techniques within my "comfort zone" of "character" - so this time I'm able to retain performance while being much more mindful of technique. For over 30 years I've "faked it" (albeit convincingly), and I now have the confidence to believe - with the support and structure from Perfect Notes - that I am actually capable of relying on myself to get it right! I have been attending Perfect Notes Music School from the age of 8 when I started to learn how to play the recorder with Karen. 10 years later at the age of 18, I am now leaving to university having passed my Grade 8 ABRSM flute exam: one of the proudest achievements in my life. All this wouldn't have been possible without the help of Karen - my music teacher at Perfect Notes. Her support and guidance has been absolutely crucial to my progress and I am glad to say that I will not only be leaving Perfect Notes with happy memories, but with a friend for life. Karen - you have been absolutely amazing and I hope you continue to spread the joy of music :) More...

I've had lessons here since I was about 6 or 7 with a variety of teachers (including Karen, Rachael and Lyn) on both keyboard and on piano. It's a great place to learn music with some wonderful staff and I would honestly recommend it to anyone at any age or ability level. I have all the staff to thank for helping me realise my interest in pursuing a career in music and to Karen for my uni reference! More...

I was a student at Perfect Notes Music School from the age of 7 until 18, Karen my teacher taught me in the Descant Recorder and Music Theory from Grade 1-5, with distinction obtained several times. I have been guided and encouraged to take part in many annual competitions and concerts over the 11 years, with the Christmas concert being a firm favourite with parents, family and students.Karen is such a good teacher I refused to leave and took up the Piano and only left because of becoming a student at the University of Nottingham, studying music. Although my mum has now taken over my lesson spot and is also learning beginners Piano.I can without hesitation fully recommend Karen and her music school. She has inspired me to love music and to take it further as a university degree. She is always polite, patient and the best music teacher I have had the pleasure to know! More...

I have found an excellent Teacher although it took some time. As you said to me in a previous E/Mail there are very few good Keyboard Teachers about. I would love to hear from you again as it's been a long time. Please say you haven't forgotten me. John . P.S Am now living in Southend . More...

I've been playing piano for several years but because I'm self-taught, I picked some very bad habits and have been struggling to learn some of my favourite tunes. I got loads of very useful information from Karen, and she paired me up with Emma, who is very patient, knows what she's talking about, and put me at ease right away. I'd been worrying that as a mature student, I wouldn't be able to learn as well as children do, but I'm only two lessons in and already I have the confidence to learn how to read sheet music (currently learning from video tutorials). The lessons really are tailor made, so if you don't need as much tutoring as a beginner would, they will do whatever suits the student, so it's perfect for me. As well as learing some of the basics that I never bothered to teach myself (mainly correct finger placement), I'm also learning a classical tune I've wanted to play since I was little, so it's keeping me on my toes! I'd recommend this school to anyone. More...

Our son, age 13, has been with the Perfect Notes for the last 5 years. In that time he has enjoyed both keyboard, singing and guitar lessons along with the opportunity to perform in friendly casual concerts. He thoroughly enjoys his lessons and the teachers make the effort to ensure they are working in the direction he wants to travel, which like most youngsters can be quite diverse. The enthusiastic and friendly approach of the staff has lead to Grade 5 distinction in Keyboard and Grade 4 distinction in Rock Guitar - so far.A great place for kids and adults, I even had a few useful guitar lessons myself to brighten up my repertoire. Highly recommended for all ages and ambitions big or small. More...

I have been a student at Perfect Notes for two and a half years and have just passed my grade 2 exam and was invited to ABRSM's Northampton high scorers concert and this is completely due to the amazing group of people at Perfect Notes- particularly Karen Appleby who is the best music teacher you could possibly image! She allows you not only to really succeed at your chosen instrument(s) but also to really enjoy your lessons offering endless advice on how to improve. She is inspirational. Perfect Notes also offers the opportunity to participate in concerts, to play in church (which has really helped my stage nerves!), to take part in festivals and to compete in competitions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! More...
