Peoples Kenpo has changed our kids’ life in an amazing way. Each child is a little different. My oldest son (8 years old) was shy and timid. Peoples Kenpo has given him confidence, courage, and agility. My youngest son (5 years old) was wild and rambunctious. Since joining Peoples Kenpo, he has learned respect and focus. My grandson is 7. He's been going to Peoples Kenpo Karate since he was 3. He loves going there. He has become more focused and has such confidence & compassion for a 7 year old. These are lessons that are taught & demonstrated every day at the dojo. As a 3 year old he learned to listen & pay attention. Now he has grown to be in the black belt club. I'm always amazed at how they know all the kids names They are family owned & you can see the pride & genuine affection they have for each of the kids. Lessons here are fun yet effective. My grandson has become so strong & fit & can even do the splits! They have a great staff and a good variety of classes. My number one favorite thing about Peoples Kenpo, is the fact that this is family operated and not a big box karate chain. I enrolled my daughter a little over three years ago and I love everything about Peoples Kenpo. The Sensei's are amazing to the kids, The children respect them from day one and the sensei's also know when to kid around with them and when to be serious.My daughter was having a really hard time at home with respecting us and lots of attitude. The Sensei's came together and helped turn her around. I have never regretted bringing her. She is now a brown belt and we couldnt be more proud. Peoples Kenpo has, by far, the best facilities and people (senseis and member families) around. Our 3 kids have gained strong self-defense skills, discipline, grit/perseverance, as well as lifelong friendships within the dojo community. My husband and daughter will be testing for black belt this year and it will be a true sense of accomplishment knowing they've earned it (some dojos are "belt factories," whereas a black belt from PKK is highly respected). The teachers at our younger kids' elementary school even comment on how wonderful the kids from this dojo are in their classrooms. Well worth the financial investment; plus, it's great knowing that our $ is going to a family business - a family who serves the community in many ways (law enforcement, military veteran, youth education). Our son goes to class without argument. The instructors are world class, very knowledgable, respectful, and super nice. Damon at the front desk knows everyone and will always help you out. After seeing a promotion, we enrolled our 3 year old son in the beginners program. In the 8 months he has attended, he has shown significant improvement in his listening and ability to stay focused. Trust me, it was a rough start for him, but overtime, he exhibited vastly different, and positive behavior. I loved their inclusion of safety for children, including stranger danger, learning to describe their parents to others, and what to do if separated from their family in a public setting. The staff is excellent, and they take great care to learn about the students, and to assist the parents in understanding their methodology, and how to utilize their practices at home. My 10 year old son has shown great improvements in his behavior at home and in school, since beginning his training at Peoples Kenpo.
