I specialize in child and family photography delivering a high-end portrait experience to every client! I am not afraid to get down on the ground and sing or play peek-a-boo with your little ones :-) I also use prompts during my sessions to make you feel more comfortable when it comes to different poses, these prompts also invoke true emotion verses me asking you to stand there and say cheese!

I've worked with Karissa on a number of occasions, but my most recent shoot was a surprise boudoir session for my husband right before our wedding.
Karissa made me feel relaxed and comfortable during my shoot, keeping me laughing and feeling confident the whole time. She even helped me put together a book to present to my husband.
Her work is impeccable. She brings out the beauty in all of her subjects. I couldn't be happier with all of the work I've done with her so far, and am excited to work with her in the future!

I can't believe I didn't write an update for my last shoot with Karissa.Since my last review, she's rebranded, and is now Pearls and Lollipops Portrait Studio. I worked with Karissa a few times in the past, but she also did my engagement photos and a boudoir shoot for my (now) husband.Karissa specializes in newborns/family photos, but man, she can shoot anything!Our engagement photos are stunning. Â I used them for our Save the Dates, and they are just incredible. The boudoir shoot was amazing. Â I've always been a bit self conscious about my body, and Karissa made me feel very comfortable and confident. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to a great photograph is true emotion! It is also based around a positive experience that is filled with fun and laughter!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always ask my clients the type of feel / look they want to achieve in there images and along with that I always touch base with them multiple times prior to their session to make sure that we work out all of the small details when it comes to their wardrobe so that everyone feels confident during their session.
What do you love most about your job?
I love the feeling I get during and after an amazing session, it's the feeling of being able to look at the images on my camera and the fact that I am able to recall exactly what was happening in that moment during a section. I love how happy I can make families and their children!!
