Pearl Remodeling

My husband and I just completed a bathroom/bedroom remodel. I had spent a lot of time reading reviews online at various websites searching for a good, highly recommended contractor. The reviews for Pearl Remodeling here on Yelp were overwhelmingly positive and that's what led me to contact them. From the first phone call to set up the initial meeting, until the very last bit of work was complete was an absolute joy! It's very rare that you hear anybody describe any sort of construction job that way, but it honestly was the most stress-free experience imaginable.  Carol, who took my initial phone call, was very polite, helpful and upbeat on the phone. She set up the appointment for somebody to come look at the job and followed up with a reminder phone call. Izhak Eskayo, one of Pearl's project managers, showed up exactly on time on the appointed day. Izhak was just great! He immediately felt like an old friend! He was very easy to talk to, very good at explaining the process, very thorough with the details that would be involved and very knowledgeable in general. I had a lot of different things I was thinking about maybe doing and he was able to really give me guidance in general costs and work involved in all of these different things, which then made it much easier for me to decide what to do and what not to do. After our initial meeting, Izhak provided us with a detailed quote regarding price and how long the project would take in a very timely fashion.The most important thing to note is that, at every step along the way, every person who told me they would do something did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. Everyone's follow up was just great.Izhak became our project manager and Cesar was our project foreman. During the course of our project, everyone who worked on their crew was polite, hard-working, clearly knowledgeable about what they were doing and all did excellent work. We had two different plumbers, two tile guys, an electrician and three other guys who were general workers who seemed able to do a variety of jobs. I have to give a special shout out to Sefferino, as he was the worker I saw the most. He did so many different things and was always so capable and kind towards me.One thing that made our job a little more challenging for me is that I am in a wheelchair, so moving around the construction filled house was a little more difficult. Everyone who worked here went out of their way to make sure they didn't block my access to places I needed to get and they also made sure to clean up and leave pathways free and open to me when they were done each day.Izhak was in and out of my house regularly and always available by cell phone. Cesar was also in and out regularly and also always available by cell phone. They both worked very well together, which made things so much easier for us.I added in some work along the way, and everyone accommodated every new request that I had as if it was no big deal. The entire job would've been done in about half the time that was originally estimated if not for the fact that we got stalled by some problems that we encountered with some custom doors that we ordered from another company. I honestly can't say enough good things about this company. I had really procrastinated on getting this job done partly because I just didn't want to deal with trying to find a decent contractor.  Thank you, Yelp people, for all your great reviews of Pearl Remodeling! It's really difficult finding a reputable contractor who is upfront, professional, excellent at what they do, and can turn out a good product.  Well, Pearl Remodeling was able to do just that.  I worked with Ben from beginning to end, and he was always true to his word even though we had a couple of minor hiccups.  As you can see, I have pavers in my backyard and also in my driveway. Unfortunately, some damage occurred BUT, Ben made sure it was repaired like new.  I would suggest with any job for your home, you make provisions to ensure that you have an understanding before the work is started to put cloths down, boards, or any other coverings to protect those things you care about.  But, like I said, Ben ensured any damages were repaired with no problem.  Also, my patio covers are great as far as workmanship and materials.  They are aluminum and beautiful.  Just a couple of tips: as you can see in the picture, they won't cover you completely from the sun or rain, which is why I got them.  So, I'm a little disappointed on the smaller cover.  I love the larger one. At some point I will have to extend it to meet my needs better.  Also, it's a little noisy so get extra insulation on an aluminum product. So ask questions so you have a good understanding and get what you want if it's within your budget.  Excellent job though overall going with this company. More...

Before embarking on our remodel, we talked to many different contractors and while we liked a lot of them, we felt that Pearl was the only one giving us a truly honest assessment of what was possible and the cost of it all. We worked with Pearl to completely redo our master bathroom from the ground up. While renovation is always stressful, Ben and his team were fantastic to work with from beginning to end. During the initial estimate, Ben was very clear about the process, what to expect, and when to expect it. Throughout construction, Ramon and his crew were courteous, worked quickly, and did a fantastic job all around! Pearl Remodeling is fantastic. They remodeled our kitchen and bathroom on budget and ahead of schedule (remarkably fast). The whole team was excellent, especially Izaak, Cesar and Alex . The remodel came out beautiful. Even better than we had hoped. We have 3 kids, and having Pearl Remodeling in our home was minimally intrusive. They were so respectful of our home and family. Never did we hear 'construction worker' language or feel uncomfortable with the team at our house. Izaak helped us come up with a great design and Cesar led the team to make it happen. For a family in our late twenties, looking for a home, buying a home, and now renovating a home easily tops our list for some of the most thrilling and also stressful times of our lives. While home renovation is stressful, there are people out there that can make it infinitely better than you can hope for and also make it such that you can look past those horrific reviews online. In comes Pearl Remodeling. My wife and I found Pearl through Yelp, and while there was a copious number of positive reviews, we were still scared going in our full large scale remodel. Work required: Full remodel of 2 bathrooms (showers and free standing tub), update over 20 lights into recessed lights, redo all the flooring in the house (including washroom tiles), and paint. As I am writing this review, we are through a big chunk of the work, however we felt compelled to write it now and help out anyone else who is considering home remodeling. The scope of work to us was massive, and we really didn't even know how to get started. Luckily and as cliched as it might be, we are very glad that we had Izhak, David and Eric on our side for this remodel. Starting from the RFQ period, Izhak's team made it blatantly clear that how they plan on winning the bid is through quality of work, dedication to the details, and commitment to managing scope. All three of these aspects were critical success factors for us, and Izhak's team has done all of the above and beyond. Favorite Part of Working with the team: Their design sense, and their flexibility to meet you in the middle. It truly feels like Izhak's team goes out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of, and that is extremely reassuring. Suggestions for Anyone else looking to work with Pearl: Communication is KEY. Izhak, David, and Eric, and the rest of their team are all very responsive and you should 100% take advantage of that. Working over the phone is not ideal compared to the progress you can get by meeting face to face. My suggestion is that you set up regular in-person check-ins with the team so you can review your process, add commitments, and make sure everyone is clear on the work ahead. In this by far my longest review, and I plan on updating it once all the work is complete on my new home. At this point, I just want to emphasize again that Izhak's team has done a stellar job of making us feel comfortable and safe in trusting their team. We recently remodeled our master bedroom/master bathroom, updated the laundry room and installed a new HVAC system with Pearl Remodeling. We interviewed several contractors from different companies but Ben from Pearl Remodeling was the most personable and understood our vision.           When we first met, he quickly made a 3D plan on his computer so we could see what the rooms would look like. Ben also gave us a fair price for the job and was great at expediting our construction permit. We were ready to start in just 2 weeks.          We stayed in our house through the remodel. Ben and his team made sure to cover  the other areas of the house and clean up at the end of each day to avoid too much dust.  Ben and his team were always available to answer our questions throughout the process.  Whenever we sent an email or text, Ben was quick to respond. They also included us in every decision for the design.  We appreciated their attention to detail. The kitchen had to absolutely be remodeled prior to move-in, so we wanted to act fast to get the entire job done ASAP. Therefore we chose the kitchen contractor team at Pearl Remodeling. We knew Gal previously because he had done my sister’s entire home (gutted the WHOLE thing) and the make-over was completely stunning. We had Gal come over for an initial consultation on our project and he already had so many great ideas and recommendations. He helped us expand our space from a galley kitchen to a more modern open look. I had a vision for the kitchen and Gal worked with me ensuring I was satisfied. After having incurred some water damage during the winter rains, and discovering additional long term water damage in the process of getting estimates to make repairs, I decided to go with Pearl based on recommendations from friends and having a few conversations with Ben, who oversaw my project. The price was very competitive, even when we realized additional work would be needed due to some long term damage being more expansive than anticipated. Now that the work is done, you'd never even know they were there. It looks exactly like it did before the damage occurred (even down to some wall textures which would have been challenging to match). I recently bought a DTLA loft and it was in dire need of updating.  I looked around online and found positive reviews for Pearl Remodeling.  I was assigned to Gal as my GC.  I had new floors put in, kitchen countertops and appliances, bathroom vanities and a wall taken down to open the living area.  Gal made himself available whenever I had a question, and responsive whenever something needed to get done!   He made me feel like I was his only customer.  The crew worked fast, efficiently, and respected my home.  I will definitely use Pearl for future remodeling needs and absolutely recommend them to everyone I know looking to remodel their home.  These guys completely debunk the contractor reputation.  Amazing. This review is long overdue. I had done research on Yelp and got a few in-person quotes. Pearl Remodeling was the most affordable and flexible with a budget. I worked with Ori and the work started the day after Labor Day. The timeline was for 3 months but was finished a bit earlier in early December. I got 3 small bathrooms and the kitchen redone for $40,100.This was my first time remodeling. I learned that you are responsible for purchasing all appliances and fixtures and contractors mainly provide the labor. Ori did provide a detailed shopping list with measurements and was available by text and phone for questions. Keep in mind, that work is not done every day but they are flexible with early times. They will put a lockbox on your door and enter when they are ready. We resurfaced our cabinet doors and had the boxes painted in the kitchen. That was probably the best value in the house. We had major problems with leaks due to the construction so that was a nightmare for a few months since they couldn't figure out the issue for awhile. When the ceiling was patched up, it was sloping down so that was upsetting but it eventually got resolved with many follow-ups initiated by me.I am pleased with the end result of work but make sure you inspect the work as it's done because I found that work was done very sloppily in the bathrooms on the walls. I was not confident it would have been fixed if I didn't keep following up several times. More...

We worked with Ori and Rebekah to renovate our kitchen, 2 baths, and floor. We are so happy with the results and we are so glad we went with this company. Ori and Rebekah are professional, personable and accommodating. They were amazing to work with! I was really nervous starting this project because it was so extensive and daunting. However we had nothing to fear because we were in such good hands. Ori kept us in the loop regarding every step and he was so detailed in his execution. I interviewed several contractors to remodel my dream kitchen. I was impressed with Gal from Pearl Remodeling. They weren't the cheapest but I liked his ideas. He utilized the space so I got the maximum cabinet space in my small kitchen.The entire crew was hard working and conscientious of the quality of their work. They were polite and addressed my questions and any concerns I had.Gal made sure everything was up to my satisfaction. Two weeks after the completion of the remodel, I wanted two floating shelves put up and I had a small problem with one of the outlets. They sent their crew out to take care of it. We did a complete exterior renovation of our house in Burbank, and after meeting with 3 different contractors, we decided to go with Pearl Remodeling. .. And man, did we make the right choice! Izhak was our project manager, and we could tell right away that he has a serious passion for his work. When he came over the first time, we discussed our plans... he not only gave us some great ideas, but also talked us out of certain things that he thought would be a waste of money. How many contractors out there actually talk their potential clients OUT of spending more money? We obviously really appreciated that. The teams that they sent out to do the work were top notch, led by foreman Amnon. Izhak was there every step of the way, coming by a couple times a week to check up on things. I got the wall soundproofed because I have a small dog that cries and barks. My unit is small which is not traditional to the type of projects that Pearl Remodeling typically takes but they were very accommodating about working with me and my needs. The price point was very fair and the level of service was both comfortable and professional.

This is a long overdue review for Pearl Remodeling and our amazing project manager, Gal.Let me start with: We love our home! Our Pinterest dreams came true. So this is a happy story. Below I'll describe why!After meeting and interviewing 6 other contractors we decided to book Pearl Remodeling because of Gal's on point consultation. He was clear, genuine and straight forward with us and that inspired trust. While he wasn't our cheapest option, it was worth the extra for the peace of mind Gal gave us.  We basically ended up doing a complete master bathroom renovation and updates to the kitchen and floors. He recommended some shortcuts that saved us money in the long run. Instead of replacing the kitchen cabinets he recommended refacing them since they were still in good condition. Instead of installing new bamboo throughout the condo, he recommended finding the exact bamboo and using it to replace the carpet in the rooms. We didn't think we'd be able to find this thin bamboo from the 90s but Gal found it! He also worked his magic on a spiral staircase that had carpet steps on it and added the bamboo there. He just was so creative with the extra material we had for the kitchen counters too. He added to the fireplace and it looks so good. I'll add more photos later. We had a few problems with late material (my bad not his) and he was so nice and chill about reminding me. If a hiccup came up we felt confident Gal would resolve it ASAP.  Gal also had great attention to detail and a good eye for solving problems. He always texted back and always answered the phone. Even though we did have some issues, just like any other project, I was confident that we made the right choice and I was completely satisfied with the end result. They get the importance of customer service and of making our remodeling dreams come true. In fact, he improved upon these ideas and provided solutions that made our home what it is today. So happy! We recently remodeled parts of our apartment with Gal as our general contractor, and he and his team went above and beyond. This was our first home, and we were very naive on the process of remodeling, but Gal patiently helped us navigate the intricacies of remodeling. Of course, with any remodeling project, we expected to have some events that were not ideal, but we were always very thankful for Gal's help along the way. He always tried his best to remediate or offer solutions for any unforeseen problems we encountered. And we especially love the way our kitchen turned out! We dreamed of having an open kitchen/living room plan and a large center island, and Gal and his team were able to make that happen. I have always been somewhat hesitant when it comes to general contractors, but Pearl changed my mind. They helped me from start to finish, understood my every concern, and made me feel like I was in great hands! I contacted Pearl to help me with a kitchen remodel. They did such a fabulous job with the cabinets, the countertops, backsplash, flooring, everything was expertly done and handled. Izhak and the team at Pearl Remodeling are a dream. I was in need of a general contractor to help me diagnose and fix an issue I was having with a leaky exterior wall and window. I asked around for some referrals and Izhak and his team came highly recommended by my friends who are doing an extensive renovation on their home with Izhak. I called and explained my situation and within a week Izhak and his team had diagnosed and solved my issue - which was quite small in relation to the home renovations they do. Regardless, they attacked the issue with the same professionalism and attention to detail they would a large project. We have been wanting to add a bathroom and reconnect a separated room for some time. We were very weary about hiring a contractor due to horror story's we have heard from friends. We did out interviews and ended up going with Pearl Remodeling. Our project manager Gal and his project supervisor Ofir were amazing. They took the time to do proper permits and research with LAUSD. Set Proper expectations. Performed better than expected in terms of time frame and quality of work. I would use them again and am already consulting with them about some other more minor projects at the moment. Gal is super communicative. I can always get ahold of him, and he does not make us feel bad for calling and asking what may be silly questions. If extra work was needed upon discovery he did not make a big deal about it. We felt his main goal was our happiness. There was one time we had a small issue where my neighbors sprinkler plumbing was ran over by a truck. There was no proof it was from the workers but Gal immediately fixed the issue on the same day it came up with no questions asked. This crew is top notch and I would recommend them to family and friends. They helped us put in an amazing steam shower in a nice very large modern bathroom. It was simply a closet before. It required drilling into a concrete foundation to add plumbing and the fixtures I got would have intimidated most other contractors. We installed a Kohler DTV + Showering system with touch panel and multiple outlets with speakers and special lighting and steam. It is by far the most high tech shower on the block. We also reconnected a bedroom with in ceiling speakers and added 3 windows and a sliding door as well as a barn door thru out for ergonomic entry. We also had out laundry room re designed for more space and easier access. Their permit guy Campbell seemed to know the inner working of LA county real well and what was code and so on. Inspections were a breeze. They made sure someone was here when the inspectors came so we were almost completely hands off. They never pushed me. Allowed me time to make decisions and order the finishing I want even if it meant pushing out the project a bit. I can't say enough how great and professional this crew is...
