I didn't see the interior of the castle, but I attended a well known cars show there, with my car on display on the Castle lawn. I thought the castle was a great setting for a show like this, with very scenic grounds and I will attend the same show this year More...

Really lovely site with excellent gardens and great walks and cycle paths. Currently only a temporary coffee van which does some sandwiches/cakes near the ticket hut whilst major building work is in progress. Season ticket represents great value if you are anywhere local. More...

As it was described by a volunteer working there, this place is a hidden gem. A good number of rooms are open to the public and each contains really interesting information boards. If you want additional information, the room guides are excellent and really knowledgeable. We were very fortunate to visit on the coronation weekend as the castle was themed around the family's connection to the Royal family, including the room where Prince Charles stayed, this room is normally closed. The grounds are equally impressive and certainly need including in your visit. More...

We had a lovely time, on a sunny day, exploring the beautiful formal gardens, Spring flowery woods and walled gardens, as well as the lavish house decor. The volunteers were really friendly and informative. However, the 4* not 5* rating I give is due to the lack of decent toilets - only 1 Ladies open to the left of the house, 1 in the deer park (I think) & 1 (I think) in the walled garden, a good walk away. There were 2 portaloos near the car park, but probably used by a lot of building people. I expressed my concern to staff, before the Easter weekend, so maybe more portaloos were hired. Such a necessity - and no disabled facilities to be seen. More...

Grimsthorpe Castle Park & Garden is similar to Chatsworth house in base of the garden. It is a wonderful place to go. There is a car park for free and you can get a season ticket. There is a small water fountain in the garden. Inside the building, it explained what the king and queen did in the castle. More...

The Adventure playground is enjoyable for children, lots of play equipment to climb on, picnic benches to eat at and a lovely walk through the trees. Lots of space to run around and stunning views from the garden and beyond. We booked and paid for the Castle on a week day as an educational visit however on arrival we were told they were running guided tours only at specific times. With two young children we really would have liked to wander around at our own pace, exploring- (perhaps a bit quicker than the guided tour!) something to consider perhaps with little ones. Overall really enjoyable just missed exploring the castle. More...

A lovely manor house in Lincolnshire. As big as a castle with original furniture from the days gone by. Hugh kitchen and dining areas to feed visiting armies. Well maintained buildings but the beauty of this place lies in the incredible gardens. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. We walked the gardens for 2 hours and still there was more to enjoy. No tea shop or restaurant was open. Truly a beautiful stop . More...

If you're in Lincoln and haven't visited the castle, why did you come here (provided that you get up there of course).

Lovely place to visit, unfortunately it was raining heavily so a long walk around the gardens wasn't so nice and it was during half term week before Halloween so I was greeted by a lady in a pointy hat and sparkly cape! There was only one person, an appropriately dressed and in character, volunteer butler, taking us around on a guided tour, telling ghostly tales in each room which unfortunately we're so dark, I had to use night vision to photograph. Thankfully they came out pretty well. All in all, very nice, must go again during the summertime to enjoy....in a different light! More...

Had a wonderful time. All the staff were very nice and full of information we learned so much while doing the self tour of the house. The Cafe was great we ate in the white tent had a delicious passion fruit cake and Ham and Cheese Toastie. The price for lunch was not bad like some other houses we have toured and the food quality was outstanding. Will go back again and get some fresh picked vegetables from outside the gift store and local Jam. You won't regret going to Grimsthorpe. More...

Beautiful place, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. I visited the gardens only on a walk with the dog (so didn’t get to see the formal gardens as these are excluded if you have a dog). Given that, the entry price is rather ridiculously expensive. As a couple parking and going for a walk around the lake it cost us £18. Just glad we didn’t bring our kids otherwise it would have been an extremely expensive walk. More...

What a lovely step back in time. All the guides that work/volunteer at the castle made it even more enjoyable. They were very knowledgeable and everything they told us was very accurate and interesting. The grounds are well looked after too. We had a delicious piece of cake from the marquis cafe. Well worth a visit! More...
