Paulo is an amazing trainer. I was told by two other trainers to put my South African Boerboel to sleep. That I had no idea the dog I had he was a killer. He was lunging at strangers and was getting extremely dog aggressive. Cain is now one of Paulo's biggest fans. A year later he is happy healthy and well adjusted. After investing in one failed trainer for one crazy boxer, I took the advice of friends and contacted Paulo. I learned more about communicating with my dog in one session than I had in several sessions with another trainer. .after completing the six sessions, I continued with group classes and now have a well behaved, obedient, goofy boy. We then started training with my dane at around 5 months old..starting her training early has made a world of difference. No Doubt, Paulo is the Dog Whisperer! I've personally seen him in action with many dogs and specifically my mother in laws unruly Pit-Mix puppy. .. Literally from the very first interaction, Kerry seemed to respond to his subtle commands when we could not even get her attention. Depending on your willingness to read an entire review or not, I'll state here at the beginning that what Paulo did to help us with our Great Dane, Kai, was no less than amazing. Best investment in Kai ever, hands down. Nothing but praise for Paulo and his skill as a trainer.

If you are still reading I'll go into more detail. Kai was about 18 months old when we sought out Paulo's help. We had socialized Kai by taking him everywhere with us (that allowed dogs anyway). We know all the restaurants from Jupiter to Ft. Pierce that are dog friendly, where the good dog parks are, which beaches are dog friendly, etc. Kai also went to a doggy daycare at least once a week and always got along great with the other dogs. We went to obedience classes at the pet stores and he did well.

Kai has always been a little fickle about people. He loves kids and most people but on occasion he would bark at someone and shy away from them if they came close. We thought it might be because that person was wearing a hat, or it was dusk, or someone was too tall, etc. Then Kai started to bark and lunge at some of the smaller neighborhood dogs he had grown up with. He wasn't fiercely lunging because we could hold him ok, but it wasn't pretty. We decided to look for an animal behaviorist and trainer to see what they thought of his behavior. I should note that before this we always treated Kai (gave him treats) on our walks and at other times. I think we were spending $100 every couple weeks on treats alone. They had lost their value to him.

We contacted Paulo and Kiley and they came out shortly thereafter. When they came to the door Kai barked loud and long. When they came in he still barked and acted aggressive. Kai is not a small dog at 145 pounds and close to 36" at the shoulder. Paulo was very calm and stood there talking with us as Kai carried on. He told us to let go of him and Kai kept up his barking and got closer. Paulo ignored him and continued to talk to use. A bit later he took a thin leash and made a loop and put it around his neck just to keep him near him and continued talking to us. Within 10 minutes Kai was laying at his feet and being quiet.
Next Paulo took him outside for some one on one time. Kai was a little nervous but followed him. Paulo really has a way with animals. With nothing but the looped lead on Kai, he took him for a walk then when he was well away from us sat down and let Kai decide if he wanted to sit near him or stand. He sat. We could see them in the distance but not hear them and I think they must have had a good chat. He walked Kai back and Kai was happy and walking well with him.
Next we saw one of the dogs that Kai had been acting out against. We took him out and Paulo watched his reaction. When we went inside to talk some more he said that Kai was not aggressive but showing nervousness. We talked some more and decided to sign up for 6 lessons from Paulo.
I won't go into total detail on the training but after the six lessons (and we took them and our homework seriously) Kai was a different dog. He was happier, very obedient, excellent with people no matter how tall or if they were wearing hat wearing. He was excellent with other dogs he previously had issues with, and we were much more confident in taking him places again.

To say we were pleased would be a gross understatement. In our minds it was nothing short of a miracle. Paulo discussed with us where our concerns were, what our expectations were, and helped develop a training plan that hit everything we wanted. We continue to work with Kai daily and it only gets better and better. Kai is a much happier puppy and we are much happier puppy owners!

I highly, thoroughly, and completely recommend training by Paulo. It is by far the best investment we have ever made and would bet you would agree too.
