I am so glad I found Judith of Pawsitive Impact when we got our Newfoundland rehome! She is friendly and positive, very experienced, knowledgeable and supportive.
Due to her help, Jinx is now a well settled, well behaved and happy dog.
Judith is also lovely with my kids, who are always happy to see her and have taken to doing the dog training themselves.

Dog Training

Really enjoyed the training and got lots out of it. Nothing was too much trouble and Judith went over and above what I expected. She was patient and encouraging, clearly explaining and demonstrating how to do each point. Would recommend and great value for money. Thank you More...

Dog Training

Excellent tips and techniques, reinforced with clear pictures handouts. Very open and honest about job history. Brilliant with both our dogs and my children (3, 12yrs) giving them good advice to stay safe around dogs. After a getting to know you session a walk with both dogs showing practically how to correctly walk the dogs and introduce them to other dogs was provided. 2 more sessions are planned with enough time in between to practise the skills taught More...

Q&As

I have owned and trained dogs for 30 years, I love watching the way in which they develop from immature pups into well mannered, well socialised, confident pets. I also enjoy meeting their owners and giving advice along with showing them how to train their pups and dogs.

I do not believe in forceful training and will never use positive punishment when training dogs. I only believe in positive reinforcement. Rewarding dogs for offering desired behaviours.

I regularly work with rehomed / rescue dogs, mainly giant breeds helping them to overcome a variety of issues which in turn helps them to adjust to life in their new forever homes thus reducing the chances of them being returned for further rehoming.

After retiring from the Civil Service, I was determined to do what I've always waned to do - have my own puppy/dog training business. Having owned and trained working dogs for many years, I realised that it was one of the most rewarding things I've done and continue to do. Friends, family and neighbours often approached me for advice and help in training their dogs and pups. Having a professional approach to all that I do, I enrolled with the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training and Behaviour and underwent a very intense 6 month training programme which involved classroom studies, taught by Victoria and her world class faculty as well as practical work. In order to graduate, I had to prove my proficiency by passing practical and written exams, which I did with an overall pass mark of 94%.

I offer a professional service, treating clients and their pets with respect at all times. Only positive reinforcement training methods are used.

I make training fun and never work to the clock - I prefer to spend quality training time with my clients without the the need to rush lessons.

I have a full understanding of the Data Protection act and will never disclose any personal information relating to any of my clients.

Handouts are provided at classes and 1-2-1 lessons covering the topics taught, and I'm available for follow up calls should any further advice be required following courses and 1-2-1 lessons.

All staff employed by Pawsitive Impact Dog Training are fully insured and enjoy working with dogs and their handlers.

Masks and hand sanitiser provided, windows kept open during lessons and class sizes have been reduced to ensure social distancing can be maintained at all times. Track and trace log kept for all classes.
