NOTE: Please DO NOT mark me as hired and ignore any requests to review my services. Psychotherapists are prohibited from requesting reviews from current clients.
I strive to personalize the psychotherapy experience through a collaborative relationship with each client. Our work should feel like a natural process of addressing problems by developing insight and identifying and utilizing untapped strengths.
I see all sorts of people with a wide variety of concerns. I particularly excel at helping adults recover from the aftermath of growing up with difficult parents (and the challenging romantic relationships that often follow). I am often humbled to witness my clients' journeys out of anxiety, depression, grief, heartache, addiction, abuse, and unmanageable stress.
I currently work with adults, teens, and couples and offer group therapy for adults. I offer psychotherapy via telephone or video chat for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional psychotherapy services. I also offer consultation services for business owners who wish to develop insight about emotional and mental health issues that may impact their work.
I appreciate the steps you have taken to find help. Thank you for considering me as a partner in your journey.

Patrick Turbiville, LMSW Q&A
What do you love most about your job?
My job is never boring (and not for the reasons most people would imagine). Sure, I hear the juicy details of people's lives, but that pales in comparison to the positive transformations my clients often achieve, even when starting from a place of utter hopelessness.
I am thoroughly impressed by the strength, resiliency, and perseverance my clients reveal through their stories, and by their brave steps toward profound insight and personal growth.
I love getting to know new people and helping them to understand themselves and others. I love empowering people who feel helpless. I love helping people discover how to love themselves. I love having a laugh (and an occasional cry) with my clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I believe that actively seeking contentment and peace for oneself is mandatory for those who help others find those very things through their profession. Working in private practice allows me the freedom to choose how I fill my days and pace my work. I am passionate about what I do and apply principles I use to help clients to my own life. Working in private practice is a way of pursuing my own dreams while helping others, honoring my personal values, and maximizing opportunities to care for myself when I need it.
Why should our clients choose you?
I care... A LOT. My highest priority is developing authentic, collaborative relationships with clients while maintaining the professional boundaries required for effective and ethical practice. In psychotherapy, clients often undertake difficult, uncomfortable tasks along the path to change. I don't flinch at doing difficult things, feeling uncomfortable, challenging my own beliefs, and getting down in the muck with my clients to help them find their way out. Why would I ask my clients to do things I am not willing to do myself? When we work together, we will be a team in the truest since. When my clients are working hard, I am working hard. When hopeless feelings makes this kind of work difficult, I have enough hope for both of us. Lastly, no matter my strengths as a psychotherapist, I know that I cannot be the right fit for everyone. If I am not the right fit for you, I will help you find a psychotherapist who is.
