Patrick gave my tiny Finn her first haircut, and I didn't know what to except. She is some mix of Pomeranian/Schipperke/Spitz dog from the streets, and about as crazy as she is cute. So I left Patrick a note that i didn't want anything too extreme, but she definitely needed some trimming, especially in the personal hygiene area. I watched the whole thing, which quelled my concerns about how she would take it, and also my concerns about how she would be treated. She must have sensed that Patrick knew what he was doing, because she was as calm as I've ever seen her. She looked great, and she is just about to go in for her second spa day. Our dog loves going to Patrick's. Besides offering quality play time with other dogs and the staff, Patrick's is the only doggy daycare in the city that takes the dogs out for a daily walk. We can check in our pup at any time during the day on the webcams and we always get a report card with a picture at the end of of the day. I have been a regular dog walking customer for 2 years and love Patrick’s Pet Care. As is the case with most service oriented businesses, it is the people who truly make a difference, and all of my interactions with all of the staff at Patrick’s have been positive. Alex, our regular walker, is exceptional, and a truly great person as well as being very in tune with the needs of the dogs in his care. His genuine care for the dogs is evident in the wonderful reports and photos that he shares after each walk, I love hearing about her adventures. My dog is old enough that she doesn’t really need a walk, but we love Alex so much that we couldn’t think of stopping our walks. I think the pricing is great and I like knowing that all of the walkers are licensed and insured and fully vetted, which is really important to me since I’m trusting them in my home and with my fur child each day. Patrick’s Pet Care is fantastic. We were sold from the start when Patrick came by our house to meet with our dog before we signed up. The entire team has been amazing. They are 100% reliable, very flexible, and very communicative. We appreciate the effort they put in to having consistent walkers on the route, but we know our pup will be taken good care of regardless of who walks him. Have been using Patrick's Pet Care for 18 months for my two dogs and have been very, very happy. They get two walks a day during the week and then an occasional weekend walk when I am at work so we use the service a lot. The dog walkers I have met have all been nice and clearly like dogs and the administrative staff is super friendly and professional. I trust them to walk my dogs. The app for walk notifications, communication, and scheduling is very user friendly. I get notes from all walks so I can monitor what my pups are doing from work which is not only reassuring but can provide a nice pick-me-up in the middle of the day. Patricks Pet Care is simply the best because of the people: they care deeply about my dogs and go above and beyond. Rebeca is our regular walker and she has shown time and again how she will make the extra effort to watch carefully when a dog is needs special attention when under medical treatment so we have even better intelligence to share with our veterinarian which all makes better informed decisions on the dogs health care. Patrick recently started offering grooming services and I'm so glad! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to give my 10 lb. Shih Tzu that perfect "not too long, not too short" cut. With my dog being a separation anxiety-prone rescue, I get nervous about leaving her in new places, but she was immediately comfortable with Patrick and his team and was in great spirits when I picked her up. My dog Gemma goes to the Brookland location for daycare twice a week and also boards there when I'm on vacation. She always comes home happy and exhausted from playing all day. The staff is friendly and flexible when we need anything. We've tried a couple other daycare companies in DC and Patricks is definitely our favorite. I would like to give a 5 star shout out to Patrick's Pet Care. We started using them about 9 months ago after getting our Boston Terrier puppy who could not be left home alone for long periods of time. We purchased a package of dog day care sessions. Our puppy went there regularly and the staff were fantastic. They helped us reinforce her potty training, cared for her with such love, and she got very good socialization with other dogs at a young age. Patrick's Pet Care has been great with logistics including transferring the dog from one facility to the other for ease of pick up as well as accommodating late pickups when we were stuck at work. Based on our good experience, we still send our now adult dog to day care once per week because it's so good for her. We have also used Patrick's Pet Care for boarding and grooming. Our puppy has been going to Patrick's Columbia Heights location for two months. We have not tried any other doggy daycares, but I can't imagine going anywhere else. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Each day they send a daily recap, often with photos of your pet. We love Patrick's Pet Care! Ethan is our regular dog walker and one of, our dog, Frannie's favorite humans! Frannie is regularly greeted by staff members that have walked her when we take her out around the neighborhood. You can tell the dog walking team really cares about the pets they service, which is the most important thing to any dog owner. My puppy, Stella, and I came to DC for a month and Patrick's was able to accommodate her at their Columbia Heights center. She went to daycare Monday through Friday and loved it! I would watch the puppy cam on my lunch break and could tell she was so happy playing with all her new friends. She was able to get all her energy out so my evenings were nice and relaxing with her. The email updates about her day were awesome because I could forward them to my husband who was back home. I opted for transportation which was perfect since I didn't have car while I was in town. Everyone was been wonderful with her and they have gone above and beyond for our stay (they even let us borrow a crate until we could buy our own). More...

The staff at Patrick’s Pet Care is awesome! Our town of New Bern NC has been hit really hard by Florence and evacuating to our son’s home in DC was very stressful for us and our 4 pets (2 dogs and 2 cats- all rescues). Our dogs Penny and Artie are used to boarding, but not city life, so we were worried about their adjustment. I have a 3 years old rescue, Presa Carnio, 75 lb. Basic obedience but didn't have leash manners or very much experience with other dogs. Especially other dogs on leash. After passing basic obedience she is much better mannered and better around other dogs. The class helped me as well in learning how to communicate and understand her reactions.We were in the Big dog class in at the Brooklyn facility with Chris. He was a great instructor and keeps the entry level class size small so you really get a lot of specific help with your dog. Especially if you're a first time dog owner, take the class. We've left our greyhound with Patrick's overnight boarding on several occasions and we've always been happy to see that she is loved and well taken care of by the team there. Patrick, in particular, is very helpful and responsive. We're so thankful to have them in the area and we love patronizing a local business. Not to mention, Patrick's is much cleaner and looks better-kept than a lot of the doggy daycare/boarding facilities I've seen. They're a new location, so some hiccups should be forgiven, but the team is great and they take wonderful care of our dog, who generally hates to be away from her pack (my husband and me) but LOVES Patrick's!! We recently started using the Patrick's Petcare location in Brookland (medium & large dogs) during a home renovation project because our hound can't handle the noise and chaos. We're not doggy daycare people and never envisioned needing to use one regularly, but have been really impressed! Drop-off and Pick-Up are easy and the hours are pretty accommodating for two working people (7:30 to 7:30, with the option to pay a fee and pick up til 8:30). We receive an email update with pictures everyday letting us know how our pup has done. And it's very clear from the emails we receive that the employees really love our dog and all the other dogs there. They also have a webcam accessible to all clients, so you can check-in during the day. I think it's a nice feature, and gives me assurance that nothing out of the normal happened during the day without them letting me know (since they have no idea whether or not I've checked in).Our pup is thriving so much in daycare during this short-term stint, that we're planning to continue to send her at least once or twice a week even when construction is over! We have used Patricks Pet Care three times for extended care of our Cat. Each time the service has been incredible. We changed apartments which included a more complicated entry into the unit and it was the most seamless customer service experience. We received daily communication and updates on how she was doing with corresponding pictures. They gave her medicine and gave updates on her condition so that we didn't have to worry about it.We worked with both a service manager and several staff members (depending on the day they have different folks there) and all were personable and professional. It's really important to Patrick that his staff are compensated well and treated fairly. And the care Patrick takes with his staff translates directly into better care for our pups. I feel like I'm constantly running into team members who break into a huge grin at the sight of our pups -- even years after their last interaction with my dogs (and of course my dogs go nuts with excitement as they recognize their old walking buddies).We have been using Patrick's team for extra exercise on my long work days for years, but we decided to try the day care this past fall because we had a young puppy we didn't want cooped up in a crate all day. All three of our pups enjoy their time playing with Adrianna, Jerneice, and the rest of the pack in Brookland and they come home exhausted -- which makes my high energy dogs suddenly wonderful home office mates for several days after each visit to day care. Our puppy Harper is now old enough to be left loose when we aren't there to supervise, but we still try to get the pups to Patrick's a few days per week so they can romp and play with their friends and come home ready to snooze while I'm working. Just had the most wonderful experience with Patrick's overnight pet sitting while out of town for a week -- Adrianna took such excellent care of my pup and sent sweet and informative updates every evening. My dog is pretty fearful and takes anxiety medication, and knowing that she was happy and safe while I was gone made a world of difference.
