I'm pretty sure our dogs are actually pretty disappointed when we pick them after a stay at Papattes! I can't recommend Papattes highly enough for dog holidays and dog walking - Alison is caring and reliable and when we leave our dogs with her we know they are going to get the care and attention they need so we don't have to worry about a thing while we're away.

We have left our two dogs to board with Alison three times this year so far already. They absolutely love staying in Alison's home. Our female dog in particular enjoys hanging out (and flirting with Alison's two dogs). Alison has a genuine love and passion for dogs. This means you can leave your precious, much loved pet in Alison's capable hands knowing that they'll have a great time! I think our two are disappointed to leave when we go to collect them! We have been using Alison for a number of months now and couldn't recommend her highly enough. She has Bodie (our 17 month old Collie Terrier cross) twice a week for daycare and he simply could not be happier to see her and spend the day with her dogs and whomever else might be visiting that day! It takes a lot to tire Bodie out but he comes back absolutely shattered after two good off lead walks and endless tearing around the garden. Alison is very responsive, very reliable, extremely flexible and highly diligent regarding the number of dogs she walks/takes care of at any one time. I don't know what we would do without her. I am rather precious as to who I'll leave Bodie with but have complete peace of mind when he's with Alison and her dogs. Bodie also spends his holidays with her when we are out of the country and I really appreciate the regular updates and photos we receive from Alison whilst we are away. Thank you Papettes! More...

Alison walks Finley, our Leonberger, 3 times a week. He absolutely loves her and waits on those 3 days, in his pen, just focused on our drive for her to arrive and take him out. I love the photos/videos that she sends to me when on her walks with Finley and friends. He is not an easy dog to control but she manages quite happily. We have a little shnoodle called kiwi. Kiwi cannot be left alone any more since our other dog died 2 years ago. So, wherever we go, she comes to. I went on holiday a few weeks ago so needed her looking after during the day. My daughter would pick her up in the evenings. Alison was fab. She obviously loves her work and your animals. I cannot rate Alison at Papattes highly enough. Alison recently cared for my 6 year old Saluki cross, LuLu, for a 3 week stay. I have had difficulties in the past with leaving LuLu at other pet care facilities as she does have a tendency to pine, not eat and so on. Alison listened carefully to my concerns, made suggestions and agreed a plan of action if issues did occur. As it happened LuLu settled in very quickly and returned from Papattes happy, healthy and having made two new friends. During the stay I received regular updates and photographs which was very reassuring. More...

Alison looked after my 18 month old Border Collie, Dug for 6 days. It was his first stay away with other dogs. He had an amazing time, was accepted by the other dogs and was treated as part of the family. When I collected him it was obvious that he had enjoyed his stay and been looked after incredibly well. We recently left Freddie, our two-year old labrador with Alison at Papattes for nine days so we could go on our first holiday abroad without him. We could not bear to leave him in kennels for that length of time and I am not sure who had the best holiday, us or Freddie! Alison at Papattes looked after Freddie as though he was one of her own and she kept us in contact with him by sending us photos of him having a fab time. This was really reassuring for us and we could not have chosen a better service. We even chose to fly from Gatwick (we live in Yorkshire) so that we could use Alison as we knew she came highly-recommended and is really diligent in her care of dogs. We left our two dogs with Papattes for 2 weeks as we no longer wanted to leave them in our usual kennels (they always came out of there smelly and looking really sad). Our two dogs are very different, one is an 11 year old Jack Russell who is 'slowing down' and the other is a 4 year old Labrador/terrier cross who is full of energy. What do you love most about your job?
Getting to know lots of different dogs and their owners and seeing the pleasure on the dogs faces when they see their little friends and set off for lots of fun together.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted my job to be something I love doing, so I decided to make what I loved doing in my spare time, something I do full time!
Why should our clients choose you?
My emphasis is on quality and giving dogs the best experience I can in my care. I take safety very seriously and I only walk in well matched groups of 4 or less. In my home, guest dogs are treated as part of the family.
