Our experience with Torre Photography was wonderful! We planned our wedding in the Outer Banks from Indiana and did not have an opportunity to meet with Martin until the day of the wedding. Martin was very easy to work with, always responding promptly to any call or email. We couldn't be happier with the way the pictures turned out or with how quickly he had them back to us (within 2 weeks!). Martin was so much fun to be with during our engagement session and during our wedding. He has a great sense of humor that put us at ease. My wife and I had interviewed several photographers to capture our wedding day. Our main concern was cost and secondly how well we got along with the photographer during the first interview and Martin didn’t disappoint. My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed the photos received by Martin Torre and his assistant on our wedding day. We were fortunate enough to have 70+ degree weather in November and the outdoor photos with family and bridal parties came out extremely nice. Both Martin and his assistant (Amanda?) arrived to their respective locations on time and were very patient with both of us as both the groom’s bridal party as well as the bride’s makeup artist were running late. However, they didn’t waste any time and were able to capture images of the groom and bridesmaids. We were able to see proofs of our pictures online and received all of the images on a flash drive around 6 weeks after the wedding. We are so thankful that we found Martin Torre!! Before selecting a photographer, we inquired about the packages of several regional photographers. Martin's packages were the most reasonably priced and after meeting with him and seeing the images he's taken in the past, we knew this was the right choice. Our engagement pictures were absolutely beautiful and the wedding pictures were even more amazing. We were able to see proofs of our pictures online and received all of the images on a CD less than 6 weeks after they were taken, as expected. In addition, Martin is extremely friendly and prompt!! Marty was fabulous on my wedding day. He advised me that he would be late for my wedding but had a backup in place to take over for him until he arrived. His back up Amanda Godlove called me and my venue to confirm she would be there and to go over all the little details. After you see Martin's work, you'll be shocked at his reasonable rates. Amazing pictures. A true professional. Martin captured every picture that we could have asked for. He got all of the important shots and then all of the extras. Bridesmaids, family shots and then creative shots. He took beautiful pictures of our wedding rings and my wife's wedding shoes! As an amateur photographer, I'm humbled by this man's skills.

Also worth mentioning is that Martin is a very warm, classy and personable gentleman. (This is the individual that is walking around and mingling with your guests!) Martin was great for our wedding day! The pictures turned out great and we are happy that our wedding day was truly captured the way that we wanted. It was kinda hard to get in contact with Martin via email over the summer prior to the wedding. It took him a while to get back in contact with us but on the day of the wedding he was very prompt and got straight to work. He stayed with us the entire day. He got a little miffed that a guest at the wedding, who happens to be a semi-pro photographer, was taking a lot of pictures with his fancy camera but I guess it all worked out. He said it would take a few weeks to get the pictures and we got them back between 4-5 weeks from the wedding, which is what I expected, so that was good as well. More...

Amazing! My daughter was in CA while we were helping her to plan the wedding here in VA. Because of the distance they were not able to physically meet with the photographer, Desire, until the day of the wedding. Desire was at the venue early and was so amazing to work with. She stayed later to make sure she got enough photos for the bride and groom. She was everywhere and we were hardly aware of her presence during the reception.

We found Martin because he was one of the few photographers that fit in our budget in the DC area, but he out shone every one of the higher priced photographers we looked at. Our rather non-sentimental parents (who didn't think we needed to pay a professional photographer) literally started crying when they saw the proofs and said "He got you. He captured everything about you." Martin was friendly, flexible, professional, artistic, and calming. He actually stayed later into the reception than planned (and didn't charge us) because he was "having such a great time." We had a sneak peek of some proofs on Facebook while we were on our honeymoon, and full proofs days after our return. We received the CD of all photo files less than two weeks after the event. We cannot recommend him highly enough!

Update: We are approaching our third year wedding anniversary. We lent our CD of photographs ages ago to a family member and never received them back. When I asked Martin if we could get a new copy, he immediately uploaded all 800+ photos onto Dropbox so I could download them directly - free of charge. If that's not customer service, I don't know what is!!! More...

After reading some of the more recent reviews, I was growing quite worried over choosing Martin to shoot our wedding. Boy were those reviewers wrong! Martin did a phenomenal job and I waited until we received our pictures to post a review. He was very patient with our out of control bridal party and all the family photos that everyone wanted. For the most part the pictures were absolutely stunning. A few were so-so but he shot so many pictures that some were bound to not be perfect. He was always very responsive and answered questions within 24 hours of me sending him an email. Since I live in Hawaii but was getting married in VA, this was incredible.

My husband and I were recently married and we decided to use Torre Photography at the recommendation of our venue (Old Hickory Golf Club). We were getting ready to sign a contract with another photographer when we saw pictures that Martin had taken of another wedding party at our venue and we fell in love. We contacted him and from the moment we met with him, we felt very comfortable with having him as our photographer for our special day. We actually ended up using his services for our Engagement Party (a very elaborate ceremony), our casual engagement shots as well as our Wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about his professionalism and passion for the work that he does. We looked at many vendors and his prices could not be beat with the things that he offers in his packages. We wanted the best for our wedding but on a tight budget and he more than delivered. Having known Martin for a number of years, I have been familiar with his work for some time. When my brother was getting married in 2008, I recommended Martin to him and still love going through the album of his photos my brother has.

When it came time for my own wedding, I never considered any other options. He was my guy!

For the service we were provided, we could have easily paid 3x the price. Martin not only responded to me in a very timely manner, when I broke down and hired a coordinator five days before my wedding, he was prompt in responding to and dealing with her.

The day of the wedding, Martin arrived on time and ready to work. He took several shots of the ladies getting ready and then it was outside for my "First Look" session with my husband. The resulting shots were beyond amazing. Martin was extremely friendly and joking with both of us to help calm the nerves.

During our wedding ceremony, I never even knew he was there. I was confident he was hiding in the background capturing these most important moments of my life, and I was right. The lighting on the pictures was fantastic and made the colors I chose for our outdoor wedding pop in an incredible way!

All of the pictures I requested with family and the wedding party were taken after the wedding in an efficient yet through way. He did a great job appeasing my mother-in-law as she kept asking him to 'get another one' with her point and shoot without disrupting our flow.

The reception pictures were amazing as well. He caught all of the big moments, first dance, father/daughter dance etc, with an exceptional eye. As my husband and I greeted our guests, he was sure to follow so I was able to receive a number of pictures with our family and friends. Martin also made sure to go around the room capturing our guests in candid shots (groomsmen laughing while smoking cigars, check!).

It did take about a month to receive the online link and wedding CD from Martin, however, this is extremely typical, especially for weddings during the peak season. In fact, my sister who got married two weeks before us in another state did not receive her pictures until about a week after we received ours from Martin.

The only thing difficult about working with Martin was trying to decide which of the more than 800 pictures taken on our wedding day we wanted to frame and include in our albums!!

My husband and I are so impressed with Martin Torre's work at our wedding. We went with the lowest-priced package, which includes 6 hours of photography and all of the images (unlimited and without a watermark) on a dvd. We requested a mix of traditional photography and photo-journalism, and it was fantastic!
When Martin arrived at our site, he began taking pictures immediately--there are even pictures of things he saw on his way up to say hi to us and introduce himself to our party! He got some wonderful shots of all of us getting ready, and he did it all without getting in the way of us getting ready. He even managed to get pictures of the guys praying and the girls praying without interruption or distraction. And, just a note, Martin is amazing with mirrors. Some pictures of me getting ready include various bridesmaids in different panels of a large mirror, and there's no indication of photographer or camera or anything.
There are amazing pictures of my husband waiting with the officiant (his uncle) and best man before the processional even started, and he got beautiful shots of the whole party walking down the aisle (and, of course, of me and my father--beautiful!). He even took a couple awesome pictures of my brother-in-law, who was hiding behind some bushes, videotaping us as we walked, showing an eye for detail that is present in every picture.
The ceremony pictures and reception pictures are flawless. I think he managed to get pictures of every couple or group of people out on the dance floor, and they're beautiful pictures of each couple (I'm excited about showing each of them these pictures!).
The most amazing pictures, however, have to be the fun, creative ones that we took either by ourselves or with our party after the ceremony/during the reception. Martin came back upstairs with the two of us after the ceremony and took pictures as we took it all in. He told us that we should just forget that he was in the room, and he made it so natural. The rest of the party came in afterward, at which point we took a lot of amazing group pictures. During the reception, we went outside with him for a brief time, during which most of my favorite pictures were taken. He has an incredible knack for setting up shots and keeping things natural.
Martin's artistic ability to naturally arrange elements in the frame makes each of his photographs outstanding. I would recommend (and, in fact, have recommended) Torre Photography to anyone looking for a good wedding (or other event) photographer. I would also encourage anybody using Martin to trust his direction should he suggest an unusual arrangement or photo--we are so happy we did this and have the amazing pictures he came up with.

Torre Photography did an excellent job at the wedding. He was easy to reach before hand, punctual, and very flexible (instead of throwing in the rehearsal dinner photos for free, which was the promotion they were running when we booked, he didn't charge us the $200 in travel and hotel fees, since the wedding was in the Outer Banks, NC and he had to drive there from VA). It was very generous of him to be so helpful. Marin Torre was very personable; he felt like part of the family, but very professional at the same time. He somehow stayed below the radar (I hardly noticed him), but he got such wonderful shots, I'm amazed I didn't see him more. He caught emotional moments (great photo-journalistic shots), and great posed shots alike. He even brought props (cigars) for the wedding party shots, which we all got to smoke together later at the reception.
