We had the worst experience ever. We paid a lot of cash on an economy room. Sure it was an ex cleaning room. Stairs 2 bathroom were squeaking really loudly. Shower from the 1940s window from 1900s. Stayed 2 nights thought it was marriot hotel but is not. No house cleaning at all, still under co-vid rules we were told. Receptionist tried telling us this is normal and very argumentative. Manager of night did help. Bar staff had attitude. Best thing was breakfast and the grounds were beautiful. This is owned by brittania hotels and u can tell all about profit. Staff r young and don't understand customer service. Oh yeah sideboard and top of headboard full of dust. Lucky 2 make 2 star More...

Had a two night stay recently - nice grounds and leisure club, but building is old and we didn't have a working toilet the entire stay (we had two small kids with us too). We reported the issue to front desk and were told there was an ongoing problem that someone was coming to check on. But no update after that.So why make the room available? Also, when checking out, no one at front desk to speak to. I've complained to customer service but also not getting any kind of helpful response.Cannot recommend the place as having a working toilet is essential to a paid hotel stay. More...

Nice place to stay for our 20th wedding anniversary. A breakfast buffet is nice and value for £. Evening meal I was disappointed 10oz rump steak I asked for mid rare I got a well done steak which was nice but not as I asked for in the first place got £5. 70 taken off the bill which did get my back up, just reminded myself i was there with the wife for a nice relaxing weekend away. The Pòol area is very nice, claen and tidy, very relaxing. The golf Club house where the golfers sit and have a drink after a round of golf to relax, just don't take young children there due to swearing from adult male golfers it doesn't make Sprowstonmanor hotel look good tbh ( my opinion guys before anyone says anything. Was it worth two nights to stay at a total cost of £363 that was including breakfast/dinner, tbh not really. Would I recommend this place to others tbh not really More...

We’d stayed in the hotel Friday night and had a spa day booked for the Saturday as a gift and a mum break for me and my best friend! First of we waited in a queue at reception for a good 15 minutes before someone appeared to check us all in and this was around 4.45pm, there was a young lad who was very helpful but the blonde lady in white shirt came across as if she couldn’t care less. The hotel room was very clean but the room decor was very outdated and it generally made you lose the luxury feel of the place. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was your standard help yourself cooked and continental breakfast it was ok not bad not amazing. The biggest let down which actually ruined the whole thing for us was the spa day … (£75pp) again me and my friend came away as a mums treat for ourselves only to have a child’s swim class in the whole spa pool area from 10am to 12pm which was not stated when we booked! We literally couldn’t relax or use the facilities due to the amount of children screaming , there parents using up all chairs and loungers around the pool to watch said kids. It really ruined it for us! Not to mention when we went for our massage at 11.30 said kids where heading back to the changing rooms screaming and running down the hall way! As soon as the massage was done we abandoned our spa day and left immediately! Kids swim lessons and a adult spa break do not go hand in hand! Huge disappointment! More...

The golf course it’s self was exceptional. The best kept course I have ever played and very challenging. The driving range was very good except for the fact there were barely any tees there for the mats, and out of 30 balls about 10 were cracked or looked like they had been chewed by a dog. The hotel was very nice but on the second night of our stay the dinner service was compromised because they were over booked and under staffed.Items were not available in the already limited menu. Our bill was amended because the service was terrible.Shame because the golf was amazing. We recently had a room booked for one night to celebrate my wife's birthday. Had high expectations on arrival as the place looks fantastic however that' s as far as fantastic went. We got to our room and it was tiny filthy and quite possibly the worst room I've ever seen in a hotel. I paid extra for a bigger bed and they threw a double mattress on two boxes. We stayed 2hrs and left for home, we couldn't possibly sleep in the bed as matters overhang boxes by 5inchs either side. Complained to desk and he just said sorry and we are fully booked. I've sent many messages to the hotel with not one reply or apology. This has to quite possibly be the worst hotel I've ever stayed from rooms to management. Premier Inn is a palace compared to this place for half the money. Avoid avoid avoid. More...

Came here on a Saturday for a spa day and have to be honest, I was really disappointed and wouldn't do it again. The pool area was quite small, which in itself isn' t a problem, but when they have childrens swimming lessons going on and rope off half the pool it isnt very relaxing which was the whole point of having a spa day. Had we been told of this before we booked, we would have gone elsewhere. Also, there weren't many beds to sit around on. And there were a couple of places where the floor tiles were broken and or missing. Finally my daughter in law forgot to put her trainers in the locker and left them under the bench in the changing room. When we came back, they had gone!! Now I know that the venue can not control and be responsible for theft from a changing room, but it just finished our day off really. The only saving grace were the treatments we had. Which is the reason I have given this a 2 star.Sorry Sprowston, you need to up your game 🤷🏼‍♀️ More...

My review is about Swimming pool staff. We've been going to the swimming pool with kids on a regular basis for about 3 years and always enjoyed the time. Kids could swim, from time to time use sauna and steam room and NEVER EVER had any issues with staff! Staff was always very friendly, welcoming, it was our favourite place to go until yesterday! It looks like new staff is employed, the guy was very very unfriendly, rude, such poor customer service. Always had something with my kids, followed every their step. Kids got cold wanted to user steam room to warm up a bit but never allowed, so we ended up with runny noses and sore throats today! Its such a shame that after those years of enjoying the place we have to skip it. Such an employee cannot work in customer service as he has no skill to work with people, he is just shame to the place and ruins reputation! My issue is not because my kids were stopped of doing something but mainly about the customer service, the way this guy acts and speaks with customers, he is really in the wrong position, hospitality is not his cup of tea!Such a shame! First of all i need to point out that i didn't exactly have high expectations to begin with but since i rarely do, it is always nice when this turns out not to be the case. However, my stay at Sprowston Manor wasn't one of those cases. For such a lovely building and picturesque setting it was somewhat let down by what lurked inside. You can clearly see a very tidy, maintained and well presented reception area but apart from that everything seemed in dire need of some sort of maintenance, repair or just a bloody good clean. The room i stayed in, although large, comfortable (very comfortable bed) and equipped with everything you would need, just felt dirty and looked as if it had recently housed an angry chimps tea party. Almost everything had some sort of damage or stain on it and there was an odd smell coming from somewhere. Now i wasn't expecting 5 star and i could have quite easily forgotten about all that but it is what happend during my stay and most notably dinner that really upset me.I would like to make it perfectly clear that the soup starter, wild boar sausage ring and the gravy i had were absolutely outstanding so kudos to where it is due but the rest of the dining experience was utterly destroyed by what i can only describe as a complete lack of respect for guests and current diners. Now i am aware that our seating location could have been rectified by ourselves but we chose to sit where we sat and that should have at least been noted by the staff. Our whole meal and conversation was constantly interrupted by noisey staff, obnoxious guests and a complete lack of decency. If it wasn't the oiks sat at the table across the dining room using the f word 4 times in every sentence it was the waitresses buzzing around making as much noise as humanly possible.Honestly, if i sat on the runway at NCA with a dedebel meter it wouldn't have got even close to the noise one waitress was making with the cutlery. She couldn't have been more subtle if she had stood by the bar and thrown a grenade at the cutlery station.I understand that it would appear they may have been getting ready for breakfast the following morning but it wasn't even late, people were clearly still eating and yet nearly the entire staff seemed quite comfortable rampaging around like a herd of elephants and making us feel like an inconvenience.Needless to say it ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing evening meal. While it was no suprise to me, when this incident was raised with the manager after a slight mix up with the bill we were looked back at like we were nothing and received the most outrageously disingenuous apology i have ever heard.I think his soul had left his body and i would wager you could probably get something more genuine and warm from an robot or possibly one of the large trees in the grounds outside. Not the sort of experience you expect at all but unforgivable when making a complaint. After the most obnoxious (test) fire alarm went off that we weren't informed about, being woken at 5am by banging from SOMEWHERE and experiencing the steam room at the pool that smelt like old musty socks i was ready to leave.I won't be returning here in a hurry, probably only to pick up fragments of my spine that was smashed to peices by the speed bumps that i went over on single figures. 🤨It has left a really sour taste in my mouth. What was supposed to be a little relaxing short break during a stressful house move did nothing but dial up the anxiety. More...

Me and my partner got married at Sprowston Manor March 2023.The whole process of the wedding planning went smoothly from start to finish. On the day the venue was decorated beautifully and exactly how i imagined. The chef on the day put our mind at rest about our nieces allergy and it was catered for very well (separate buffet food made for her before coming out ect) the food was very delicious!Maddie, the wedding planner was professional and nothing was to much to ask for.Everything was very well organised before the wedding and during the actual wedding day, leaving us stress free. She was also available on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly.A massive thank you to Pam who was available throughout the day for us and our guests, making sure our day was organised and special. It was everything we hoped for and more.Only thing we would say from the day is me and my bridesmaids stayed in the lodge before (which was beautiful and allowed space to get ready). However, the groom and groomsmen stayed in the hotel. On the day, they were asked to check out at 10am when our wedding wasnt till 2pm. Not sure if this was a mistake or the venue did not realise. Once being informed they did extent this till 12. Although, this was still abit of an inconvience. Just to highlight for future weddings.Other than that, thank you for making our day so special! ❤️ More...

Stayed using a Buy A Gift voucher so didn’t pay full price. We had a standard double room on the second floor. The bed was very comfy and the room well stocked with amenities, however the toilet struggled to flush and some bits could have done with a bit of paint. The back of the bathroom door was especially falling apart. I didn’t mind that it wasn’t cleaned during our stay, I prefer not to have people in the room when I’m not there, however the windows were filthy on the inside and could have done with a deep cleaning. We didn’t have dinner or breakfast there so cannot comment on them, but from what I saw, it was very expensive for what you get. We stayed Thursday to Saturday and on Friday morning there was a fire drill which we were not warned about by reception. It mentioned it on our welcome letter, but we did not know if we had to evacuate or stay in our rooms. I thought it was a very pleasant stay, and reading the reviews I think it could have been a lot worse. More...

Currently stopping here and it's 12.40am. Check in was fine, rooms are nice, yes the windows sliders are dirty but to be fair it is difficult to get into them bits to clean. The 2 radiators we have in our room, the insides are extremely dusty. The swimming pool was nice, seperate child's area to adults swim. My daughter had fun in the pool, although, the chemicals are very harsh on the eyes and skin. We tried 4 different lockers in the ladies room til we found one that actually worked if you pushed it shut, some didn't even open, one had a pipe in another had your coin but didn't turn and then was tricky to get your coin back out. The bedroom is quite warm even though the radiators were off. I'd hate to stop here in the summer. The windows do open but only slightly. It's raining here at the moment and there must be a blocked gutter as it's trickling right outside the window quite noisy. We also have ajoining rooms, good for some but not an alone family with a 4 year old. Next door we're quite loud, we could hear everything! My 4 year old couldn't sleep as next doors lady had "hurt herself" she was moaning very loudly. But even after that was finished just them talking, we could hear. I knocked a few times with no answer, so thought maybe they got the message. Went back to my room but still heard them so knocked even louder. Asked them to keep it down abit and he's like what is it that's noisy.... Erm just youse in general. During this time I did try reception, no answer. There is a fridge in our room under the massive TV. All the lights worked and even had 3 lamps, with great lighting. Our room over looked some sheds and one of the shed doors were open and kept banging shut. I wouldn't like to stay here again to be honest just because it's too hot, too noisy and there's no one to help during the night. More...

A short escape from London and stayed for two nights. The swimming pool area and spa are defiantly the best part of this hotel with a good sized pool, hot tub, sauna and steam all open all day for guests staying at the hotel. The spa area also looked nice and offered a range of treatments however was fully booked once we arrived and enquired.Staff are all very lovely and helpful and rooms were a good size, old fashioned with very comfortable beds! Also the breakfast was also very nice, good selection of options from an English breakfast, to cereal and pastries! The only constructive criticism I would give is that we wasn't given enough information on arrival about facilities and the grounds. Check in was very quick and given keys with no information available in the rooms either.Other than this it honestly was a lovely stay and would recommend a visit! More...
