Posting and reviewing my experiences on line is not one of my forte, but this time I really wanted to share my wonderful experience with Oscar Deco, Inc, so here it goes:I found Oscar Deco Inc after meeting and interviewing six different companies, and I will continue trusting my judgment. Oscar and Aida are different from the rest, they truly care about the projects they work on, and they are industry professionals. I had never done a restoration or re-upholstery project in my life, so I needed hand holding. They guided me through the process of fabric selection defining my color combination, etc. It took me months to visit all the fabric stores, and weeks to make the selection of my fabric, I went from wishing a blue sectional to later deciding to go beige, and I am glad I did. Beige it is.My sofa came home two weeks ago, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the two pieces arrive with the additional throw pillows. The craftsmanship is outstanding, the piping and finishing details are beautifully done, and I love my sofa. I could have never found a sofa that is so me anywhere without spending a ton of money. The fabric color and pillow combinations were all my own design, and Oscar Deco Inc did his part in reconditioning and reupholstering the two pieces thus creating a one-of-a-kind sofa sectional that can’t be bought at any store. This is an absolutely top notch place. From their artistry all the way down to their customer service, Oscar and Aida are masters of their craft. They did a miraculous restoration job on my Grandmother's chaise lounge that I had pretty much destroyed. They have wonderful taste and they were very helpful in guiding me through the process of how and what is possible in terms of design. After moving into a new home we brought our beloved English antique dining set to The Fine Art of Restoration to be refinished. From our first encounter with Aida to the final pick up of the furniture all of our expectations have been exceeded. Oscar was informative & our conversations reflected his knowledge of wood & furniture, in addition to the admiration he has for both. He is a true artisan. Oscar did a miracle job on an antique chair that has been in my family for 100 years that was broken accidentally. He repaired it so well it's stronger than before, treated the wood, and reupholstered the seat beautifully, With his wife and son running the office, they are friendly, caring, efficient, and very accessible. Wonderful job! I found this family-owned business online and a call to Aida ensured I was in good hands. She recommended a few fabric stores and after visiting one next to their shop in Queens I decided to drop in. I met Oscar and their son and was given great recommendations for my chair. The photos aren't clear enough to show the contrast fabric, but it was a great idea of Oscar's and gives this classic chair a modern flair. They were great to work with, delivery was timely and well organized and best workmanship bar none. They even sent me back the extra fabric. I can't wait to start on my other projects with them. While looking for an upholsterer to restore our antique sofa, we happened upon the Yelp reviews of Oscar Deco, a family owned and operated business specializing in restoration of all kinds of furniture and wood work. Up to this point, we hadn’t seen anything approaching the raves this lovely family has received for their work. And the raves were well deserved as we found out upon completion of our nearly one hundred year old sofa. It is an absolute work of art! From the very beginning we were charmed by Oscar’s wife Aida, as well as Oscar himself. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We brought them several swatches of possible fabrics. Ultimately, we purchased a beautiful mohair fabric in a store near their establishment. We had spent weeks looking for the perfect fabric and we don’t think we could have made a better choice. And they agreed. The entire piece was stripped down to the “bones” of the sofa. Much of the old padding and horsehair was disintegrating and the springs were an absolute mess. Oscar, Aida and their staff went to work and restored it beautifully. We highly recommend Oscar Deco for their fine workmanship and wonderful attention to detail.
