orwedoit.com Q&A

orwedoit.com Q&A

What makes a great website?

The Content and User Experience, The concept of using responsive design is not new to 2016 Easily view-able and usable regardless of the device it is being viewed on (mobile, tablet, desktop).
This will continue to be a basic requirement of a great website in 2016. With new and improved mobile devices coming to the market on a regular basis, having a responsive website design is a must.
2. MINIMALISM
Many businesses are taking web design back to the basics with minimalistic designs and layouts. Websites are featuring fewer pages, with simpler designs and more blank space.
Some websites are also implementing what’s referred to as “Flat Design”. Flat web design uses two-dimensional/flat images which are aesthetically pleasing to look at, in combination with lots of open space, and bright colors. Flat design also meets the requirements of a responsive web design, which makes it a great trend to follow in 2016.
3. USER-FRIENDLY
Usability has always been of key importance in a successful website. Websites with an intuitive design, and with images and aspects that are pleasing to the eye are going to attract more customers than those without these features.
A simple, intuitive, and functional navigation is another important feature to focus on for 2016. If customers can’t easily make their way around your site, they aren’t likely to stay long.
The speed at which your pages load also have a strong impact on users in the coming year. Quickly loading pages and simple ways to get to specific information will be critical in setting your website apart from the competition.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

What is your expectation?
When is your deadline?
What is your budget ?
Is There a website you like for your site to look like ?

What information do you need from a client before you start work?

Goals for the project. and expected completion date.

What sorts of printing projects do you usually cater for?

Business card/ Banners/ brochures/ letter head... etc

Describe your creative process.

Coding allows anyone who can write it to communicate with a computer. I write just enough of it (mostly HTML, CSS and JavaScript & JNode) to be able to communicate with a web browser. That’s enough to make a website or app that does just about anything I can think of. But not everybody needs or wants to know how to write any code at all.
So here’s a mnemonic I use to make that code less intimidating when I’m describing it to somebody who hasn’t spent years writing it. When somebody asks me something like, “Hey Orlando, what’s the difference between HTML and CSS?” I say this:“Pretend we’re describing a human to a computer using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.” (Simple Right!)

What information do you need from a client before you can start work?

Information gathering is best done in person or over the phone

What do you love most about your job?

To develop a long lasting relationship with clients to build a strong foundation on which considered thinking and design can add value to their business as well as their vision.I do this, because "I love it." I like the industry. I like the people I meet. I like to talk shop. I embrace my inner nerd.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Just one Driven Entrepreneur to another. Well, first, I love to combine my knowledge, interest and curiosity together, "if the desire is strong enough, then the how to is easy" I like to create products that people could actually use is one of my favorite motives, it's so much fun!(and scary) One fun part of this is i get to talk to many interesting people such as yourself.

Why should our clients choose you?

I choose Clients who have an idea of what they want that's my blue print for moving forward
