I have just completed my free 10-day trial at Origin Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. The facility is conveniently located a short drive off of the motorway and has plenty of free parking. Inside it is modern and spacious with a large clean mat offering a scenic view, there is plenty of bag space, a private changing area and M / F Toilets. On my first day Josh, the head instructor, sat with me and took the time to get to know me, he took an interest in what I was looking to get out of Jiu-Jitsu. I could see from the beginning that he was going to be a fantastic Teacher and I wasn’t wrong! Josh explains and demonstrates techniques in a fun and effective way that keeps me fully engaged without an information overload. He is always weaving into drills offering his encouragement and expertise, his positivity and patience are second to none. Since starting I have been partnered with a number of different students, all of which have been as welcoming and supportive as the last, as a complete beginner it can feel intimidating at first to get yourself through the door but I assure you at Origin Gracie Jiu-Jitsu those feelings are unnecessary, you’ll be made to feel welcome and be supported from the very first step! Anyone can learn from Josh and have a great time whilst doing so. He creates a welcoming environment for everyone but can also be extremely competitive for those who want to go harder.
Origin Gracie Jiu Jitsu focuses on jiu jitsu as it was meant to be with self-defence and real world applicability to the fore.
