I tried their body wrap this week and it was a very relaxing experience. I went on a weekday so it wasn't busy. The women were friendly and everything was clean, which is incredibly important to me. Enju is a gem. She really knows her stuff and I trust her implicitly. She is always traveling to this conference or that, and keeping up on all sort of beauty trends and anti-aging regimes. So much so that you can just sail into her spa, kick back and just say, "Whatever you think. Just gimme what you got".  Trust me, she'll have an opinion and it will be well informed by both experience and her education while keeping you, your budget and your goals in mind.Plus she's friendly and fun, yet very professional. I've been a loyal customer for several years now. I read a review on Yelp about their services and their prima esthetician, Enju, and can say she has earned every star.  I've had my eyebrows waxed, wonderful 90 minute facials, fabulous neck back and scalp massages, and never cease to leave their spa fully relaxed and happy. Most recently, I decided to take the plunge and have my eyebrows permanently tattooed. If you want to see the type of work that she does, just look at her face! Enju has done her own eyeliner and brows, which look unbelievably natural. I simply could not believe that it was permanent make up, since it is flawless and subtle. I decided that I would tell no one that I was going to do this, to see what the reaction would be. My husband commented on how nice my makeup looked, and so did my mom. When I told them that it was permanent - they refused to believe me!  My mom immediately made an appointment to have her eyebrows done, and my husband scheduled an appointment to have a long, unsightly scar on his scalp colored in.We are all happy campers.  My mom & I celebrate every morning that we do not have to pencil in eyebrows! UPDATE: 24 hours after 90 minutes with Abel and I am free of sciatic pain in my low back and legs.  I walk, a lot...usually 20 miles a week. Excellent. Enju gives the best facials. I have gone to so many places for facials and no one has yet to beat Enju. Her facials are not only pampering but also effective. She is detailed, skilled and has all the needed equipment to make your skin look wonderful. Her hands are magic. My sister bought me a gift certificate for a facial here for Christmas, because she raved that it was the best facial ever. "You have to get a facial with Enju" she wrote. My sister and I might disagree on a lot, but this was one thing we agree on. It was seriously the best facial I've had in the Bay Area. I was able to book last minute because I was in the East Bay, and Enju (spelling?) was incredible. I got an amazing massage as a bonus on top of the facial- back, neck and arms, finished with hot stones. She's thorough, hard working, and friendly. The place was clean and relaxing, and the room and table warmed perfectly. It;s a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. I felt amazing afterward. Just left Onzen and I am absolutely glad I came here. It was a total last minute thing. I was accommodated in the schedule. I can't begin to describe how blissful the experience was. Thank you Onzen SPA for being in our community!    Anju, Abel and Mica you all ROCK.I have been going to Onzen SPA, since  the day they opened.  Anju is amazing I love, love her facials and she is continually make suggestions to make you look your best, and she also applies those same methods/techniques on herself, before trying them out on you, so she knows the end result.   Abel is truly a master at massage.  The one thing I appreciate about his massages is that I am not in pain when I get off the table.   So many times, I have gone to OTHER massage therapist, they will ask where the problem areas are and then proceed to massage the "knot", and my god, it would hurt more than when I went in.   Abel's technique is different.  Trying to explain what it is and how it is would be like trying to explain an amazing meal or wine.  It is impossible, I would just say you would have to try it.Mica is very diligent in her manicure and pedicures and gives the best foot massages. I have had the best experience at this spa. I have tried several other spas; this is the best one. I have done my research about what treatments have shown results, what is working and what is not. They have it all, machines and products. They have tailored my treatment according to my type of skin, and what do I look forward to get from the treatments.Results from a facial are not immediate. Nowhere, from nobody. Maintenance is important, with a guided care from the professionals. I have tried big, common, expensive, all natural, "in" places and given them few months under their care to see results. This is the one I have sticked to. the one I have seen great results from. I love the location, the ambiance and the people there. As I mentioned I have noticeable results; smooth, clean, even and younger looking face, hands and body skin.  I have gotten only two of their products; she has offered to me but I feel she offers them with the best intentions of keeping up my results and not just to sell a product. I am very happy with these products as well. I can't wait to get the body wraps with infrared treatment, I will update this review with  those results. I have tried one similar treatment in Vancouver at the most luxurious spa in a hotel, and one other in a very luxurious spa in Berkeley also attached to a big white hotel and one other treatment in another spa on the same street where Onzen is. Had the best massage of my life here back in 2012. The spa was inviting, warm, and easy to schedule two massages for my friend and I at the same time. It was super easy to make an appointment online, and the staff called me back almost right away to confirm the time I wanted.My masseuse was unbelievably attentive to what I needed/wanted in my massage. I told him I wanted to focus on my neck, shoulders, and back, and we spent 60 of our 80 minutes doing just that. I always prefer deep tissue, but this was a whole other level. It was almost as if we were working together to relax and de-stress my entire body! I got the 1.5 hour facial special for $99 and it was fantastic! I can't WAIT to go back here. PROS: - The lady (so sorry I forgot your name! :( :() walked me through each step saying that as a first time customer she wanted me to know what she was doing. I loved that because if she didn't do it then i would of had to ask her. She said she would only do it the first time and the times after will not involve so much talking. - The red acne spots on my cheeks faded after just ONE facial with her! Wow. I think 2-3 more facials and I'll have clear skin again! :)- My skin felt and looked amazing after the facial. It's been a week and it still looks great! There's some peeling but nothing that I can't handle. CONS: - She tried selling me on some products. I had to finally say let's see how it goes after my first facial and decide when i have a second facial in a month. - The little eye pads that are supposed to protect you from the very bright light during extractions isn't the best. I'm a drummer into activities such as mountain biking and resistance training who had never had any bodywork done.  Needless to say I was a mess.  After a couple extremely uncomfortable gigs my shoulder and neck pain was starting to affect my sleep. PROS:-Affordable. I did my homework, this place is very affordable when you compare to other places with a similar ambiance. -Fairly nice ambiance. A nice little waiting room, the massage room is fairly nice...nicer than most places in Berkeley/Albany.CONS:-My masseuse, although great, wasn't dressed very professionally in her jeans and t-shirt...strangely, it made the experience less luxurious.  I would have never thought that would be the case, but it was.The price to luxury ratio is what would keep me coming back, but if ever I wanted to go somewhere for some special luxury spa pampering, I'd likely look elsewhere and would pay more. Had a facial on Saturday. It's Tuesday and my skin looks amazing. I think she turned the clock back on my skin at least 3 years. A few more of these facials and I'll look 27 again. I had a custom facial with a peel (tingling was intense and just about the moment I thought it might be too much, the tingling started to subside.) She did some micro dermabrasion which I always thought would be painful, but it isn't. And, she topped it off with an oxygen treatment. So relaxing, pampering and utterly delightful! The scalp, arm and hand massage was also wonderful. I was given a gift certificate to visit Onzen The Spa and feel like it was one of the best presents I have ever received.  I made an appointment for a massage and was lucky enough to get Jeanette as my masseuse . I go in with a pain and Jeannette works her magic and it is gone.  I feel really lucky to have found Jeannette at this point in my life as I try to make a health a higher priority.  I had a wonderful pedicure there and Enju, my facial waxer extraordinaire, gave me a great treatment as well as sold me the best and easiest eyebrow enhancer I have ever tried. Just had a facial with Mika today and it was great.  I have been going to Bliss in the city 2-3 times per year for a facial for the last several years but my favorite esthetician left and I got sick of the constant hard sell for products from the others (not to mention Bliss is super expensive).  I was looking for some place closer to home that was more affordable so I could go more often.  A friend recommended Onzen and I am thrilled she did.  Mika did an outstanding job, my skin looks great and $100 for a 90 minute facial with microdermabrasion is an EXCELLENT deal.  I will be back. Just so you know, I don't patronize spa type places very often.  I can count on both hands the number of times I've gotten a pedicure done professionally.  I rarely get massages, since I usually end up feeling like I've been run over by a truck the next day, probably because the uncompensate all the compensating my body has been doing.  I will not get a facial because of how sensitive my skin is because I have really bad eczema...really, I don't need more red splotches on my face.However, I had Spafinder gift certificates that I received, so of course I'm going to use them.  So, I decided I'd use them for some brow grooming & pedicures.  I cross referenced the Spafinder site & yelp, & this is what I came up with that had good reviews & pricing & not too horribly far away from where I live.  Granted, it's not that close either.Anyway, I had nice, quiet relaxing experiences the few times that I've been.  Service is nice & friendly.The space is small...pedicures are done in the 2 chairs across from the waiting area.Making appointments was easy on the phone.  Looks like they also take walk-ins.Oh, that reminds me, I should go back & get my brows done again, since I can't find my tweezers to pluck the stray hairs.I've always found free parking without time limits on the side streets.Located on the north side of Solano between Ramona & Carmel. My very 1st YELP review  because I simply don't have the time. However, I vowed I would make the time so I can share the experience I had with Jeanette. She is the best massage therapist I have ever had...she is clearly amazing and stands alone! I live 2 hrs away and will be making a special trip up here just to see her at least once a month. Jeanette has more than a talent she has a true gift and healing hands. Best deep tissue massage ever!!! Within the first 5 minutes, she had me saying WOW! Without me saying a word as to where my pain was, she not only found the area but several other interrelated areas as well, which was attributing to my pain. None that were ever worked on before.For those who have pain, please do yourself a favor and allow her to work on you...you will clearly be amazed and feel more relief than you have ever felt before. I recently went in for a massage primarily due to a sore lower back and neck. After arriving, I was assigned to Sally. I will cut right to the chase. ...Sally gave me the best massage I have ever received. To start with, she has a very warm and engaging personality. She made me feel extremely welcome and relaxed. She took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and assured me she would focus primarily on my trouble areas. She proceeded to do an excellent job on my two problem muscle groups, and by the time I was done, I felt a great deal of improvement in both my back and my neck/shoulders, and was finally able to feel relief after suffering badly for two weeks. She also worked on other muscle groups, and those also felt much better when she was done. She is very skilled at what she does, and always made sure that nothing she was doing was causing me any pain. Overall, an excellent experience thanks to Sally. I will certainly highly recommend Onzen spa as a result of this massage, and I will also highly recommend you ask for Sally if she's available. More...

I found ONZEN through YELP and SOOOO happy I did.  I had a facial from Nita and, have to say, it was one of the BESTest facials I've ever received. .. and I've been getting them since I was 16! Nita was knowledgeable about skin care and skin health.  She recommend products without being pushy about buying them. The facial it self was luxurious.   She started out with a scrub, then gently cleansed my face.  Then she brought out the bright light and checked out my sink's condition.  From there she did a gentle peel and then microderm and finished it off with a green tea mask.  In between all that she massaged my face, along with my neck and shoulders.  At one point during the massage, I was surprised to feel some heat.  I realized she was using hot stones!  Wow, totally magical. Have to say - if you're on the market for a "body wrap," especially terrified, neurotic first-timers, like me, this is your place. The infrared sauna/body wrap changed my life. :) Super crazy intelligent nice people work there, and they check on you frequently to make sure you're sweating/wrapping only as long as is right for you. As they say when you sign up, "it's intense!" Drink lots of water before, and A LOT more after, and enjoy the incredible, meditative state you enter in between. Disposable underwear=weird, but you have the option to bring your own if you don't mind getting some lotion on it. I'm a runner and very rarely do I show my toes.  I've had two pedicures here and they've both been great - a lovely massage, they do an excellent job of getting rid of all the callouses and other signs of abuse my feet usually bear, and everyone who works here is just sweet as can be.  Today I even forgot my wallet and they were so nice about it (I called from home to pay)!  The facilities are pretty and clean.  This place has been quiet both times I've gone, so please try them out! I had a pedicure, facial, and massage here last weekend.  The facial by Mika was fabulous.  She really took her time, my skin felt and looked great, and she gives an awesome head/neck massage.  My pedicure was also fabulous.  The woman that did it gave a great foot massage and I felt pampered and relaxed.  My massage was good.  The only bad part of this was that the walls are pretty thin so I could hear talking and laughing while I was trying to relax and de-compress.  Otherwise, fix the walls issue and I would have given this place five stars.  I'll be back for a facial and pedicure. After a very bad toenail bruising incident, I decided to treat myself to a pedicure at Onzen.  I'm usually not one for pedicures, especially because I tend to be a bit of a germaphobe when it comes to your average nail salon chairs.  If I'm going to pay for a pedicure, I want to know that I'm not going to get some mystery fungus from the person before me.  At Onzen, they bring out a sudsy foot bath bowl for each customer.  I've been here twice now, and both Nida and Mika were amazing.  All in all, the pedicure took about an hour, and these ladies were thorough.  Bonus points for a hot stone foot massage as a part of the pedicure, and for helping me choose a shade that would best hide my toe bruising. I've been traveling a lot lately this summer, so I hadn't had a chance to visit ONZEN as regularly as I used to, but after an especially stressful work week, I knew I needed a couple of hours of pampering. Of course, ONZEN was the first thing that came to mind! I called two days ago and was able to get a facial appointment for 11:30 this morning.Today, I had my facial with Mika, since Eunju had another client to work with. I'd mentioned to Mika that I was meeting with a friend for lunch right afterwards, and she was considerate enough to ask if I wanted to wrap my hair in a towel so that the steam used for part of the facial wouldn't mess up my hair! I thought that was really lovely of her to offer. During the extraction part before the actual microdermabrasian, she was also very gentle. It was just so relaxing, I'm pretty sure I fell asleep for a few moments here and there.I was very happy with this visit, and my skin still has that lovely I-just-got-pampered glow!
