We're becoming regular customers, having bought 2 guitars, an amp and various accessories. The staff are genuinely interested in helping anyone at any level and certainly not in making a quick sale. We'll keep going back for anything from re-strings to more serious upgrades as money allows! More...

Nice place with very friendly and helpful people. Was looking for an acoustic guitar and i was made to feel at ease and able to try different instruments until I was 100% satisfied with my choice. ...Adam and Matt were very knowledgeable with their answers to my numerous questions..I was there for 2 consecutive afternoons and never felt any pressure. Also, guitar wise, there is a good selection of acoustic guitars with some well known quality brands at a fair price.Highly recommend this shop for their professionalism and friendly approach. Great service - couldn’t be more helpful. Repaired my son’s guitar. We will be back and this is now our go-to music shop! Thank you!

Highly recommended. Went in to buy my son some parts for his guitar, and I'm not musical at all. I wasn't treated like an idiot for not knowing anything about guitars. Very friendly and helpful.

Very highly recommended. Friendly members of staff, who goes out of their way to be helpful. Very kind man looked at my daughter’s bass guitar to check what was wrong. He kindly re-soldered the wires that connect to her output jack & didn’t charge her a penny for his time & effort. He explained in simple terms to her what was wrong & to come back if it didn’t work. It works & sounds brilliantly now. They do have some really cool electric guitars & bass guitars as well as acoustic guitars, unusual looking ukuleles & other musical instruments. Definitely professionals in their trade. They also provide guitar & bass guitar lessons to all ages for those interested in learning to play. They were friendly on the phone, which convinced us to visit the same day. Will definitely use them in the future. Am really impressed. More...

I was walking around and one of the members of staff showed me exactly what I was looking for. They have a nice selection of guitars in acoustic, classical, bass and electric. They have many different styles of electric guitar: SG, LES PAUL, TELECASTER, STRATOCASTER, ETC. They have drum kits in stock too as well as lots of folk instruments. They have lots of second hand guitars too that are in good condition if you don't want to spend too much money. Everything is well organised so it is easy to find what you are looking for. Acoustic and classical upstairs. Electric downstairs. The staff are more than happy to let you check out the guitars, give you some history and let you plug in to play as well. They do not stock real GIBSON LES PAUL'S however the do have many good Epiphone's in stock and replicas by the company VINTAGE. This is the same for their 'SG' guitars. If you are looking for REAL LES PAUL's or SG guitars this is not the shop to purchase a guitar but it is very good if you want an extremely good replica ranging from £450-£170. However the ceiling downstairs is very low so if you are tall watch your head. Overall a very nice shop where I could find exactly what I was looking for. More...

I don’t normally leave reviews but felt like I had to after going just to get my strings changed. Was helped by two really nice guys, and when I asked if I could watch him change the strings to learn how to do it myself, one of the guys even encouraged me to do one myself to practise. Every guitar and bit of kit in the store is quality gear, and definitely reasonably priced - know where I’ll be going to from now on. More...

I have nothing but praise for Tom & Will. I became interested in buying the new Nuvo jSax long before it was officially released and I was in regular contact with Tom who kept me updated about when their order for the instruments had been despatched and then when it arrived. The order I placed was dealt with smoothly and quickly and the jSax duly arrived. Subsequently, I discovered that Nuvo were now producing mouthpiece caps which fitted their Clarineo, Dood and jSax so, once again, I ordered some for the DooDs that I own. As before, all queries were answered promptly and there were no problems. I cannot do anything other than recommend Tom & Will without reservation - they really care about their products and their customers. More...

I used to shop here as a spotty teenage metaller and bought a load of the cheapest gear I could find back in the days when their speciality was decent gear that had seen better days. Went back in recently and it has changed utterly - the guys were great (as they always have been) and their stock is absolutely top-notch stuff. I came away with a guitar I really wasn't expecting to buy but which was a total bargain. Can't recommend them highly enough. More...

The music department is a great music shop in Saint Albans, it's primarily a guitar shop but you can get other instruments( like banjos) there. The staff are all friendly and will let you try as many guitars as you'd like. I bought 4 guitars and basses from there over my life and they've all served me well. They do starter packs for learners, which is a bundle of: practice amp, guitar/bass, lead, strap, gig bag, tuner and picks. I recommend dropping In If you have a chance More...
