Design has been my business and passion for over 30 years. Having started my career as a studio junior and illustrator working for a local print company, I then moved on to running my own design agency and are now a freelancer. During this time I have been involved in most areas of traditional design, including logo design, illustration, brand development, design for print, prepress processes, print finishing and print production, including both litho and digital. I have also worked with digital media over the past 15 years including web site design, production and hosting with working knowledge of both CSS and HTML. I manage and host websites as well as producing and broadcasting email campaigns with both MailChimp and Campaign Monitor.
My list of traditional design services include: Event Collateral, Gift Catalogues, Stationery (letterheads, Compliment Slips, Business Cards), Postcards, Brochures, Annual Reports, Invitations, Folders, Leaflets, Directories and my digital services include WordPress development, Woocommerce integration, Cloud based web site hosting and imap/pop3 email provision, Email Marketing, Web site banners, Web site rebranding, GUI design.
I work remotely with clients throughout the UK and I’m based in Carterton, Oxfordshire bordering Warwickshire (to the north/north-west), Northamptonshire (to the north/north-east), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire (to the south-west) and Gloucestershire (to the west).

What makes a great website?
Usability, Functionality and Content are king.
If your customers 'can't' use your website they 'won't use your website. The navigation needs to be simple, intuitive and accessible.
Your website needs to be built on a robust hosting platform which is fast and secure. It should take advantage of the latest technologies and be accessible across as many devices as possible.
Above all the content must be relevant for your target market and information can be found easily and quickly.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The questions do change depending on the type of project but some I may ask are:
1/ Who are your target market, demographic or age range?
2/ Who are your competitors within the above?
3/ Have you got any design ideas in mind?
I have a simple questionnaires for both web site production and brand development that will help answer most questions.
Describe your creative process.
After the first introduction, I would then have a detailed conversation to ascertain the scope of the project and the specific details of what is required. If a defined objective can be shown at this stage, a fixed cost for the project can then be given. If though there are still specific details of the project to be identified a ballpark cost can be given. Once these costs are then agreed, if it is a web site project, an outline project specification will be written for sign off, or if it is a graphic design project, design visuals would then be submitted.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I will always need an overview of the project and brief description of how the customer will use the final result. If it is a website; to sell, to distribute information, to attract new business, or if it is a brand/logo where is it going to appear; print, digital, shop front, embroidery etc.
What do you love most about your job?
I always get great satisfaction from producing a design, logo, brand or website that my clients really love.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a genuine passion for all things design related and it was always inevitable that I was going to end up in the business of design in some aspect.
Why should our clients choose you?
Some designers just 'talk the talk' while I can 'walk the walk'. I have a no-nonsense approach to all aspects of design that deliver (and more often overdeliver) on my clients expectations. I won't blind you with baffle or wind you up with waffle but I will give you a design that delivers.
