This has been an amazing hotel, so central located. The staff is gracious and very helpful. The rooms are nice and have all the modern amenities.
great service, love our room
great room service brillant food magic suites.
Nice hotel . Great view . Location is superb
Great dinner at the restaurant. Wonderful food & attentive staff.
We booked this hotel for part of our stay in London, and initially I was blown away! It's a wow moment when you walk into your room. You'll say, "Wow, it's so beautiful! Wow, it's so small!" Our rooms looked onto the gardens and I felt like a princess living in a castle. The beds and pillows all comfy, turndown service was appreciated, slippers and robes were plush. Check in was okay, but the process was too lengthy and even after all the pontificating, I was not informed about Afternoon-Tea so that was disappointing. My other teensy gripe was the bartender in the lounge. She was slightly rude and not friendly at all, and service was super duper slowwwwwww. This hotel is also a Vikings Cruise layover hotel, so you'll see lots of "mature" couples. If you get a chance walk into the adjacent private hall and enjoy the large marble spiral staircase that wraps you into a time long ago. With soaring ceilings and special library rooms adorned with chandeliers and life size portraits. Breakfast was wonderful and I do recommend you eat outside in the garden. Coffee was superb and croissants were magical. Overall a nice stay but not sure I would come running back. More...

Totally enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place! Very close to all sights & the Thames.
More...
lovely hotel and great food!
Had afternoon tea here with my sister. was lovely atmosphere. friendly staff.
we had afternoon tea here. The sandwiches, cakes and scones were lovely and the tea was gorgeous. I booked through Groupon and would book again. I will definitely come back. I could have gladly wandered around the ground floor taking photographs and taking in the history if the building. just lovely xxx More...
the staff were very courteous and helpful. doorman helped us to taxi as it was raining and I am ambulant disabled. The afternoon tea was very good. Had great afternoon.
AFTERNOON TEAHad a Groupon and took my 2 kids. There was a mix-up with our reservation (note: don't bother putting special notes in your booking; you'll need to call if anything about your reservation is unusual), but Safia, our hostess, was amazing. The selections of dainties and teas was impressive, and the setting was gorgeous. We dressed up, but most people were dressed casually. Don't expect to get in and out; tea is a long affair! My kiddos did surprisingly well, and the tea room is near a large corridor of the hotel, so they were able to get out and stretch their legs a bit when needed. I definitely recommend! More...

View was fabulous! Was a tad warm.
An excellent place for tea!
A1 Location and service. All Staff customer focused and provide high class value for money.
Overall the hotel is excellent! We enjoyed the wonderful service and the central location of the hotel. The staff was very kind to us, and always helpful. The dining options ranged from very good to very chaotic! The breakfast buffet is very nice! A wide-ranging selection of hot items, fruits, juices, and meats. All very tasty, and the option to order additional items as desired. The chaos came when we attempted to have afternoon tea. We were first served food, only to have it explained to us that it was actually for another party. So we moved, then the other party took their setting, then the other party was moved again, opening up our original location, but by then we were being served at our new location! It was a bit confusing to say the least! We also had very poor service when having dinner at the hotel. The food was great, but the wait staff was not attentive! And then our waitress became flustered when we explained to her we had to leave to attend the theatre, after waiting over 20 minutes for our dessert to be delivered to our table. I was not impressed, as this was to be a 5-star dining experience. The room was comfortable, but construction on the building across the street lead to being awaken very early in the morning on weekdays. The TV service was not great, but the internet was fast. The printer in the business centre was out of service all week, making it difficult to print tickets and boarding pass. I reported it to the staff early in the week, but days later the issue remained. One cannot beat the location of this hotel! It is an easy walk to so many attractions, shopping centres, restaurants, theatres, and the Embankment tube station. You are out the door and on to your London adventure in seconds! I would recommend this hotel, and would love to stay there again! More...

The afternoon tea was delicious and plentiful. The champagne was crisp, dry and very well chilled. The tea was free flowing, fresh and hot. The service was polite, attentive and excellent. The most beautiful building , perfectly situated by Trafalgar Square. Fantastic staff and attention to detail is impeccable. The breakfast was unforgettable. The best choice of foods, I have never seen such a wonderful choice like that. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. The room was beautiful and luxurious. I loved every moment and didn’t want to leave. Superb customer service from everyone but a big thanks to Katarina on reception, Jason at meet and greet and Artur who was lovely in the restaurant and terrace. My son was thrilled with room service and thoroughly enjoyed your skinny fries and pizza. It certainly wasn’t a cheap frozen pizza, it was fabby. So too was my roast beef sandwich with the trimmings I asked for. Perfect. This hotel is steeped in history and the most beautiful to see from the London Eye. Many thanks to everyone on duty this weekend that made our experience unforgettable. More...

Lovely Afternoon Tea and lovely hotel. Definitely visit again
I booked this hotel for our family trip to London through Costco Travel. The hotel is located in Westminster and walking distance to so many things including the London Eye, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, etc. The hotel is absolutely stunning and was once the home to Sir Mansfield Cumming (MI6) and is close to both Old and New Scotland Yard. The lobby has a beautiful fireplace which was welcoming and kept us warm during cold London days/nights. It is also decorated with grand chandeliers and large tile floors. Our rooms were large, with comfy beds, chairs, and a convertible desk/vanity. Our stay included buffet style breakfast. There was plenty to choose from including eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries, etc. I believe it is about £24 per person. They also have other things on the menu for an additional fee.Service was impeccable. Everyone was so helpful and kind which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend staying here. Lovely champagne afternoon tea, fabulous service and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Fantastic experience thoroughly recommend

We have had a lovely afternoon tea, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Great location, comfy rooms, free mini-bar in room, friendly service, generous buffet breakfast included, fabulous views over the Thames (pay extra for the river view - beautiful at night) and nice Elemis toiletries in the bathroom (with heated floor!) - what’s not to love?
We arrived early to the hotel and they were so nice and accommodated us quickly. Beautiful hotel. ❤️❤️

Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms were a little aged but very clean. Room service was quick and the location was priceless!
This hotel is incredible! From the door men in their top hats to the bartender who remembers your very specific drink. The rooms are beautifully presented. Larger then the photos may appear on some popular booking websites. A lovely afternoon, on the terrace, sampling a selection of delicious, finger sandwiches, mouthwatering, mini cakes and scones, champagne and fruity, refreshing ice - tea, which was spot on. The birds were an added bonus to the afternoon. The lounge and the terrace were nicely designed. The terrace is my favourite, as it's a hidden gem, a haven, tucked away in London, excellent choice, of background music and a "chilled" ambiance with plenty of greenery. What makes this hotel stand out from their competitors? Their outstanding, customer service and quality training. It's consistent from every member of staff. The young lady who looked after us today, I would like to refer to, what makes her shine from the other employees. Her name is Martina. She is very attentive, accommodating, polite, professional and implemented, service with a smile. She has an eye for detail and has a high level of EQ (emotional quotient). I hope she will be considered for the, "Employee of the year," recognition programme for her exceptional, job performance. We will definitely recommend and visit again, to try the ala carte menu. Thank you for making this visit memorable. More...

Loved the building, the room was beautiful and clean. 911 Library Suite .. I honestly thought majority of experiences were of the upper view and credit. Now improvements: Criticism is positive and growth comes from that aspect. The bathroom TV didn’t seem to function ( but that could be me ) I thought the bathroom was too modern for the room. Needed to be regal and then you could easily charge more. ( not me of course as I came up with the idea ). Put a different bathroom in and you could charge easily another hundred pound. The staff were very cheery apart from the lady late one night who didn’t raise a smile or indeed complete the order. Mine was a tea. We arrived for breakfast disheveled as we woke late and got to the table for 10:40. Opps. The cereal selection and fruit/nuts were fab. But the hot food looked a bit dry but I take that on the chin as we were late. No toast!!! I give 5 stars as that’s indeed what the hotel deserved and 99% of the staff. We arrived when a gathering of Korean War attendees from the RAF were there.. how magnificent that the Koreans put this on for them so they can stand in Glory. Very proud Thank you and a message to the young lady in the bar that late night, from one female to another - smile you are pretty and a smile dresses that whilst looking welcoming. Thank you all. If you want a design for that bathroom 911 give me a call. Had a beautiful stay. Louisa Andreas and Paul Halsall More...

The location could not be better! Our first room was so tiny, but had a view of The Eye. The front desk manager Jamie was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Although we sacrificed a water view to change, we ultimately had a nice sized room more appropriate for the length of our stay. We had plenty of other opportunities to enjoy the views with the location so close to the river. The assistant manager (?) of the restaurant is the only positive for the dining experience. She tries very hard to do everything herself (because her staff is awful). The breakfast buffet is good enough. The menu was not to our liking; the staff was so disengaged and anti-customer that no menu could have made up for the service.Hopefully, 2 exceptional (and relatively new) managers will lead to better service at this excellently located and well appointed hotel. We were a group of 10 and on a travelzoo deal. The venue was very nice and the table was ready for us, but, they first tried to give us the restricted menu when we were on the a la carte deal. After half an hour I went to ask why we had not had our order taken, been offered a glass of water or had our glass of prosecco. I was told I had not given them the vouchers, bit difficult with no service in sight. They finally got the orders taken, but one person having soup did not get their starter until we had all finished ours. The food was delicious, but the service took so long that after over two hours one member had to leave without desert or would have missed her train. After two and a half hours we had to ask if there was any outstanding cost as we had to leave. We were given a 12.5% service charge which although normally good and willing tippers we were reluctant to pay as the service had been so poor. We had to search for service on more than one occasion, there was no mint sauce to go with the lamb, they ran out of scallops only half way through taking the order for starters. It was not busy, I would say less than 10% capacity, but other tables came and went whilst we were still waiting for our meals. A real shame as it could have delivered so easily with a bit of effort. Was it because we were on a deal? if so they won’t be getting repeat business from any of us. There was also one item on the desert menu that I requested only to be told that they had not had that item for several weeks - then take it off the menu! More...

4.5 stars Pluses: -- location: across the street from the Embankment tube station & waking distance to many attractions (London Eye, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, Charing Cross, Trafalgar Square, etc.) -- our booking included their breakfast buffet. We only took advantage of this a couple of times, but we loved starting the day with a full English breakfast in a dining room with white linens. Wait staff was friendly & the buffet was kept well stocked & clean. -- quiet & cozy. We'd come back late in the evening & warm up & wind down by the fireplace in the lobby. The hotel was always quiet & we never heard any of our neighbors. -- our room was a nice size. Bed was plush & clean. Not that we needed it, but there were two American outlets in the wall in case we forgot a converter. Snacks, drinks, & water in the mini bar were complimentary. -- bathroom looked modern & "upgraded. " TV in the bath was a nice touch, as were the heated floors & towel rack. Slippers & robe were provided for our stay. Minuses: -- half of the tv channels had a weird buzzing noise or echo so even with the volume turned up, we couldn't watch that station. -- room service was disgusting. I ordered a margherita pizza from their late-nite menu (because Deliveroo failed to come through) & it was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. -- a few times, I'd call the front desk repeatedly & there's be no answer. I looked forward to coming "home" to The Royal Horseguards every night! It was a comfortable place to lay my head. Highly recommended & hope to stay here again in the future. (The minuses aren't a deal breaker, I just wanted to remind myself not to order from their room service menu next time!) More...

Great hotel, staff were brilliant and very accommodating, lovely room and will definitely return.
I absolutely loved my stay at The Royal Horseguards for the end of year fireworks and 2018 New Year! The location here is the best of the best for watching the fireworks, right in front of London Eye, next to the Embankment. There is a plenty of history to learn about, the previous police office at 1212, The National Liberal Club in the north wing, and the former Russian and American embassies on the 4-5th floors. I got a room on the 8th, where was originally used as the office of Mansfield Smith-Cummings who was the father of MI6. There is an interesting underground tunnel used in ww2 downstairs - it is worth your money! More...
My favorite hotel in London! It's a great location, very close to the tub which you can take anywhere. Also, the location and view of the eye is out of this world! Would stay here again next time we visit. More...
The Royal Horseguards is ideally located square in the middle of London. Looking out the window, the London Eye sits right across the Thames River. Many other fun attractions like Big Ben and Trafalgar Square are within walking distance. The room is exceptional with everything one could want: comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with both shower and tub, and more nice furniture. The service is fantastic - these people really go above and beyond. Every individual is kind and helpful to the greatest extent and it's been a pleasure to stay at their hotel. 10 out of 10, would recommend to a friend More...
I really like this hotel. It is in a great location on Whitehall so really close for lots of stuff, plus the building is fantastic. Inside is done out really nicely - old style rather than modern and contemporary and it suits it. The rooms are good. Beds really comfy. Heated floor in the bathroom which is amazing in the middle of the night or the morning. A TV in the bathroom if you want a soak in the bath and watch some TV (Hint - whatever channel is on the bedroom TV is on in the bathroom - took me a few mins to figure that out). Free mini bar snacks (crisps, cold soft drinks, chocolate). I really recommend staying here if you are in town - lovely place. Breakfast is great too. More...
This is an excellent hotel in an excellent location. It appears to be an old grand structure that has been converted to a hotel. The lobby is beautiful with a lovely fireplace adorning the middle of the room. The location is fabulous. Right across from the Thames and In walking distance to most of the major attractions and museums (Westminster Abbey, parliament, British museum, London eye...). There is also an underground very close by if you are not into walking. We got two rooms: an executive room and a deluxe room, both city facing. We got the executive room only because their regular room did not come with a king size bed and the extra was not that much more. I think it was worth it. They were both large rooms for typical rooms in Europe. They also came with a fully loaded and free minibar, which was a nice touch. On Christmas Eve they left a nice card with cookies in our room, another nice touch :). The shower was a bit small but really no complaints about the room. Breakfast was included with the rooms. This was a very nice breakfast, scrambled and fries eggs, ham, sausage, smoked salmon, beans, mushrooms, cheese, and a variety of breads, jams, and even pate'. The only issue with the buffet was that it was the same buffet every day, and if you stay there for a week, it gets a bit boring :). The doorman, bell captains, and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The only weakness with this hotel is that the concierge that we dealt with for most of the week was not particularly good. This was a bit disappointing. But otherwise excellent hotel, excellent location, excellent staff... I would definitely stay here again. More...

First stay and would definitely return. Very friendly and efficient.
5 star hotel right by the river. The lobby is charming in the most British way you could imagine - decked out in red and gold for the Christmas season and serving mulled wine as the choice of complimentary beverage for guests. Don't forget to take advantage of your free beverages inside your room's mini bar. Air conditioning unit could be renovated so as to reduce the loud noise it makes during the night. Overall, good hospitality and convenient location right around the corner from Embankment tube. More...

Lovely staff lovely stay only one night great location
We had lunch in the Equus Bar - staff were lovely and food was good. But the best thing is the warm welcome and the friendliness from the time you walk in the door
Very nice period hotel. The staff were really helpful. We had our office Christmas party there and it was very good. Good food and nice wine. Great ambience. Would recommend.
Everything was lovely except for the queing for breakfast unacceptable for a hotel of this calibre
Love this hotel. So beautiful. Christmas decorations are fabulous
Very friendly reception staff, easy check in but when we got to the room there were maintanance staff there painting it, a trot back to reception for another room, this was fine but had dirty finger prints over access to ventilation hatch in ceiling and some grout in bathroom had mould , TV very low quality with terrible sound and the one in the bathroom did not work, after a day shopping in london went up to the room to find the key card didn’t work so another trip down to reception to sort another one , for the money would expect little things to be right
Very good service, clean, full of character. Central

We booked through Costco and everything was wonderful. Our booking included a complimentary bottle of wine and everything in the mini bar was complimentary as well. Our room overlooked the river and the London Eye. The floors in the bathroom are heated which feels great on cold mornings. With our booking we also got a free buffet style English breakfast each morning. Everybody was very accommodating. Very closely located to Trafalgar square and quick access to the soonest.10/10 would stay there again. More...
A great hotel in a very historical location, the staff were excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay I looked forward to my return
Great building with lovely historic features . Very comfortable beds & very attentive service .
Remembrance weekend - so perfect for where we needed to be, river view was amazing for both Lord mayor's fireworks and London Eye lit up as a poppy, But one person was so friendly and passionate despite a tense and horrendous breakfast service- I don't know her name but she served us lunch in 1twentyone2 she was from Paris and an absolute credit to your hotel! Will definitely be back!
Good sized room great location and service was good too. Will return

This hotel is just superb. From the minute you walk in to the reception, you are treated like royalty. The service is just outstanding. I stayed here with my partner to celebrate his birthday. I had advised the hotel of this. As a result we had an upgraded room, with their compliments, and cake and Prosecco delivered to the room. Every moment spent in this hotel was just outstanding. Oh and the Concierge, Richard, arranged for rose petals to be sprinkled over the bed, to make the moment I proposed to my boyfriend so memorable. Thank you for a truly outstanding stay. More...

Great location, great service, and excellent rooms. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely stay there again.
Wonderful staff. The river view is amazing. The facilities were perfect. The room has plenty of size for 2. We had a great stay.
Nice not-well-known upscale hotel, with great service. Had a dinner party here and the staff were excellent.
So far, an excellent choice for us. Fine ambience, gracious, helpful and knowledgeable staff For all needs, it seems. Great location for us. No complaints, here.
Marvellous in every aspect from location to bar and from staircase to library
This historic building is well located for business and tourists alike. The high touch and elegant surroundings coddle guests with luxurious traditional furniture and decorations while discretely incorporating a high level of technology. Even the most economical room offered a TV in the shower and a minifridge stocked with FREE mineral water, Coke, diet Coke and snacks. The food is not overly complicated but is well executed with excellent ingredients. This is a hotel to fall in love with. And, then there is the history! More...

Great venue. Good food and very pleasant staff. Surpassed all my expectations. Thank you
We visited London the first week on September and I can not stress enough how wonderful this hotel was. Not just that but the staff was great, warm, and felt like our family for the stay there. The location is perfect. So close to lots of things and the train and tube are very close and we’re easy to use. Thank you to everyone at the hotel. This will be where I stay when I come across “the pond” again. Cheers! More...
what a lovely Hotel. Great location in Central London. Everything about the Hotel was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Had a room with a magnificent view overlooking the Thames. Will definitely stay again. More...
The rooms in this hotel are very large by European standards. There is a mini bar that is included in the room price. Breakfast is included as well. The rooms are well appointed, with a good mattresses and great bathrooms. The bathrooms come with heated floors and heated towel racks. Some downsides, on the breakfast there is limited choice and he gets a bit boring if you're staying there for more than two days. My personal downside: no oatmeal for breakfast. The hotel is very close to everything, most major sites, the underground and Trafalgar Square. One other downside is the concierge seems to have a limited knowledge. When I tried to confirm things, such as which tube line to take, I felt that I knew more than the concierge. All in all this is an extremely worthwhile hotel and I would strongly recommend it. We went for afternoon tea to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The Hotel and staff are absolutely amazing !!! We have also stayed at the Hotel before and keep going back because we just love the place. The tea itself was superb and didn't disappoint. Once again the Royal Horseguards Hotel has made a special occasion in our lives just that bit better. We look forward to our next visit... More...
My wife and I spent a wonderful week in this classicly British world class hotel. The staff is always ready to help and remembered our name. The location couldn't be any better. A block from Embankment station, two blocks from Westminster or Trafalgar. Just a short Thames side stroll to a water taxi. Within a blocks of breakfast , pub lunch and night scene pub and wine bars. Gorgeous hotel and grounds with beautiful and clean rooms. More...

Very elegant surroundings and all the staff, doorman, concierge, waitresses were friendly and efficient. Our afternoon tea was splendid with a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes. I gave this hotel excellent as have been many times for afternoon tea and three course dinners and have always found staff friendly helpful polite until last night was there for cocktails and platter, as was three of my friends birthday, unfortunately we couldn't go out on the terrace for our cocktails etc due to the rain , we sat down was served water then 6-8 mins after we was asked what cocktails we wanted shortly after our platter came out which tasted amazing then after we was asked if we wanted desserts, which we did we waited 10-15 for them and in the mean time our bill was given to us before our desserts came out I was not happy so when we finally got our desserts we ate them then on our way out I complained to which she said a member of staff said we asked for it not before my dessert I didn't to which she shrugged her shoulders and walked off very very disappointed as such a beautiful hotel
Sylvia saved the day.... the staff at Royal Horseguards seemed ill prepared to deal with afternoon tea on this very quiet Friday afternoon. We waited half an hour for a drink when firstly they didn't have the champagne we ordered, then the wrong champagne being given to us. We had no tea or food served.... until Sylvia came along. I explained to her it was my Mum's Birthday and we were not having the best experience, and to her credit, she turned the day around. Her customer service was exemplary and she upgraded our champagne for free and offered us extra sandwiches. Note to Horseguards - get Sylvia to train the rest of your team. She saved you a complaint letter and proved that this may be worth another try. More...
My first stay because of altered circumstances where I usually stay. The myth is the British can't do hospitality and theee is a little more truth in London service is third-rate. This hotel disproves both statements. From the doorman through registration, to being guided to our room attention was flawless. The room was on the small side (647) but the complimentary mini-bar was judiciously stocked, and the facilities exemplary. Heated floor in the bathroom, and rather bizarrely for British tastes, a tv in the shower/ bath unit along with dressing robes and a skilled layout outweighed the size. A high bed with firm mattress and plenty of pillows, with sheets of high quality cotton ensured sleep. Breakfast was very broad in range and to a very high standard (not always matched by some guest's fashion choices!). Thoroughly recommended. More...
My friend and I took advantage of a Groupon Offer for a jug of Pimm's and a platter of snacks on the terrace. Very pleasant.
A beautiful old hotel in a great location! The rooms are fabulously large, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised by the grand dinner that we had in the hotel restaurant on the first night of our stay.
Great as always breakfast was perfect ! Exec room was great too

Impeccable service from just about every staff. They only staff member that I felt super disrespected by was this lady that took us to our seats for breakfast. She was dark haired and had an attitude. Rudee. One star dropped because of that. Anyways, the view on the 8th floor is wonderful. Got an amazing view of the river and the huge Ferris wheel by the pier. Room is quite small, but I feel like that is the case for all European hotels. More...

Lovely stay for my birthday. Great staff. Wonderful room. Beautiful flowers in foyer were a nice touch. Would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel and in particular my room were very good and the staff were friendly polite and efficient my only bugbear was the valet parking at £110 was extortionate the concierge did point out that I could park the car myself at the same Qpark in Leicester Square for the same 24 hour period at only £40 it must be a good 15 minute walk each way but as I was running late I had to valet park. I think a rate of double the park yourself rate is more acceptable. More...
This is a great hotel! The rooms are very large, almost American style. There are some improvements that are needed: The televisions need updating, the tub we had was slightly less than clean -- found two blond hairs. Their breakfast was not bad, but a tad on the expensive side. Their location is particularly good if you plan on doing a lot of sight seeing in the area. The tube station is a short walk away. I would love to stay again. More...

Loved this hotel with its view of the London Eye and the River Thames. Great location for visiting London and walking round the city and the sights. Rooms are very comfortable but beds are only doubles so if you like a king size bed make sure you ask for one when you make your reservation as the rooms with a view do not have big beds.
There is no real bar to sit and have a drink which is the only downside but breakfast was plentiful with a large selection of hot and cold food. More...

We traveled up to London by train/ tube so much easier. We stayed for 1 night as part of my birthday treat, the room was all ready for us, it was a lovely size nice and clean. The staff were polite and friendly towards us,after dropping our bags off we had a long walk around Lodon, going on the eye as it's just around the corner walking past Big Ben it was fantastic. It's also within walking distance to some of the shows, as we done thriller. The room was nice a quite so we both had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good got shown how it all works plus we weren't rushed either.both my husband and I will definitely be coming back to the hotel. All i can say is that I had a fantastic time and a lovely birthday thank you More...

My wife and I are enjoying one of our several stays at this hotel. We are staying in a "standard" room which is excellently laid out and we have slept well in the comfortable bed. The biggest asset of this hotel is the staff. From the chap on the door, to the lady at reception to the cleaning staff we passed in the corridors..... all helpful, smiling and professional. Coming back to the hotel after a long business meeting felt like coming home, and we even had some very amusing chats with the doorman about the weather! Well done Royal Horseguards.... excellent hotel. More...

My girlfriends and I went here for afternoon tea following a performance at The Royal Opera House. We chose this hotel because it is one of the only ones that offers afternoon tea late into the afternoon. Most, bizarrly stop about 4pm!!! And I have to say we were not disappointed. The hotel was lovely, it is stylish, contemporary but also felt traditional. The afternoon tea was delicious with a lovely selection of food. Additional sandwiches and scones were also offered although more food was not needed by us. The afternoon tea was also beautifully presented beautifully. I would highly recommend a visit. More...

My mother and I stayed here for our New Year's trip. It is a beautiful hotel with a very accommodating staff. We didn't know that you need reservations for the dining area (specifically when it's the holidays and completely booked). However, they went out of their way to ensure we were able to dine in. They had wristbands to see the fireworks since we didn't have a river facing room. Which was very useful as were out and about all day and needed them to get back to hotel. The fireworks were amazing and it was nice being able to walk 50 feet back to the hotel afterwards. The river rooms were sold out and we were told they're normally booked a year in advance. However, I enjoyed being out in the crowd for the real celebration. It wasn't chaotic and overly crowded like other shows I have been too! We were also able to switch rooms to a river view after the new year and everybody left. We wanted the experience and they ensured we got it from the time we checked in. They contacted us when a room was available. Allowed my mom to look at it first before we switched to make sure it was to our liking. However, we weren't picky and just wanted the chance to see the river. Oh and kudos to Stella, she was the lead housekeeper and was so nice. She checked on us everyday. So all in all this hotel went above and beyond. Only con was the heat wasnt working that well in our river view room. However, they brought us a heater and we were fine. I can't wait to get back to London and I'll definitely stay there again! More...
Just spent the weekend in London staying at the Royal Hourseguards. The service we received from arrival to departure was excellent. The staff were all friendly and happy to help. We were upgraded upon arrival and were allocated a room overlooking the Thames and London Eye. On our first night we had dinner in the 1212 restaurant, which whilst was quieter than expected the staff were very attentive and the food could not be faulted. Lovely champagne afternoon tea for my birthday yesterday. Relaxed, welcoming and very professional staff. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
We celebrated my mum's 70th birthday yesterday with afternoon tea. The food was fantastic, we were asked if we wanted anymore, we had plenty. We wasn't rushed or felt like we had a time limit it was so pleasant and relaxed! The Children's afternoon tea we ordered was perfect just what children would eat, chocolate spread, peanut butter and Jam sandwiches. The ladies/ gentlemen who served us couldn't of been anymore helpful or friendly. Thank you for a great afternoon and helping us to make my mums day extra special! More...
My 2 sisters and I took our mother for her 70th birthday afternoon tea, we were treated fantastic, the cute little sandwich in flavoured bread was an excellent touch, also the cute little cakes were also excellent, we wasn't rushed or felt like we had a time limit it was so pleasant and relaxed! The ladies who served us couldn't of been anymore helpful or friendly. We asked if they could take a picture of the 4 of us and they didn't hesitate nothing seemed to be any trouble.. All the ladies were fantastic but one perticular lady, if I can remember her name was Sofia she seemed to go the extra mile and just made us feel so welcome.. I think this may be a yearly event at this same place as I have already recommended it to family.. Thank you for a great afternoon and helping us to make my mums day extra special! More...

The Royal Horseguards hotel provided a quiet, clean and comfortable stay during our recent trip to London. Not much time was spent in the actual room but what time was spent there proved relaxing and enjoyable. Situated by Whitehall, the Royal Horseguards is within easy walking distance of the Embankment tube station, Charing Cross, the Houses of Parliament, the Thames, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery and plenty of pubs and shops for snacks, souvenirs and more. Extending the definition of 'easy' walking distance a bit further and you can still easily walk to St James park, Buckingham Palace, Oxford Street and Covent Garden. And if you are ready to pound the pavement, you can also take a leisurely walk to the Tate Museum by Vauxhall along the Thames.Every staff member at the hotel was friendly, exuding professionalism and confidence. From the front desk to the porters, every staff member performed their job admirably. Indifference and aloofness can be found elsewhere. The breakfast buffet was initially disappointing until I discovered that there was a whole other room of hot items that comprise the full English breakfast. It's essentially all you can eat full English breakfast so plan accordingly. The continental breakfast offerings included smoked fish, assorted cheeses and cold cuts, yoghurt, cereal, muesli, muffins, breads, fruits, hummus, cottage cheese and a few items that elude me. My three plate minimum breakfast easily lasted me until late afternoon. The standard room featured a very comfortable and large bed along with a tea/coffee maker, selection of teas and also complimentary use of the mini bar. So if sitting alone David Brent style commiserating with mini bar bottles of liquor is your thing, the Royal Horseguards can accommodate that.Every day we'd return to a made up bed, room and clean bathroom which given my propensity to trash hotel bathrooms was a major feat in tidying up. The shower featured an in-wall television that I couldn't quite figure out how to work. Speaking of TV, my only minor gripe was the reduced number of stations available, mainly the exclusion of UK comedy channel "Dave". There was plenty of news and sports coverage but some additional stations would have been welcome. Fortunately we found plenty of entertaining shows to watch on Channel 4 and ITV during relaxation time. There's complimentary water in the lobby along with a fireplace, a welcome blast of warmth after the cool, damp days. One another note is that our room was situated a bit far from the elevator. If you are infirm, elderly or don't want a lengthy walk to the elevator, request a closer room. And in this modern age of constant connectivity, the wifi was free and reliable, no issues staying in touch with the homeland. More...

The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is wonderful, and the park right behind the hotel is perfect for an afternoon sit. If you stay in one of the cheaper rooms (like I did) you won't have a good view out of the windows. I looked right at the back of another building, but I didn't mind because I spent most of the day out exploring. More...
We stayed in June for my 30th and loved it. So luxurious and friendly.
Nice hotel, friendly staff and located in a decent but quiet area. The room was nice, comfortable and included unique enhancements like a heated bathroom floor, heated towels and a tv in the tub. The continent breakfast was nice as was the afternoon tea. The concierge and front desk help went above and beyond to meet our needs. The one thing that's odd in Europe as an American, it's not too easy to get ice. I thought it was misleading and funny to have an ice bucket in the room when there's no ice machine on the floor. Lol. After searching for ice to no avail, I called down and they rushed it up, no problem. A tip... The hotel seems to be in the middle of a boring area. However, if you walk out the front door, turn right, go across the street, under the bridge, you have all you need in terms of restaurants and small shops. I wish I would have discovered this sooner!! More...
Just came back from a one night stay at this wonderful hotel grate location and friendly lovely staff Only problem for us was that we only stayed for one night , but we can't wait to come back xx
A quick review. We stayed last week of June 2016 for 5 nights. All has been said regarding amenities, location, and being close to the tube, We were on the 7th floor with a great view of the "Eye". Everyone was accommodating - maids, room service-breakfast each day, front desk, the concierges, dining room waitstaff when all we wanted was to relax with tea and even the doormen. When our son and daughter- in- law come to London, we expect they will stay here as it is a fine place and they are very picky. More...

First time visiting London and we got a package from Costco travel. We went for our anniversary and the hotel manager greeted us with chocolates and champagne in our room! We got upgraded to a better room as well. Great location, gorgeous hotel, heated bathroom floors with an amazing view. We can't wait to come back to London and stay with them again. Makes the long 10-11 hour flight all worth it! More...
