Very professional team, many thanks to Jon Mendez for getting us through the ICC and VHF courses in an easily understood way. He is very patient and makes the whole learning curve enjoyable and fun. I have just returned from a 4 day Day Skipper course.
It was the most amazing experience in every way. As a female it was fantastic to have a female instructor and Julie was the best, very patient really good fun laid back but very professional, she had a unique way of teaching which made it both memorable and fun at the same time. I stayed on Motala, our training boat which further enhaced my experience, she was really cosy and very well equipped and I felt very much at home.
The food on board was very good and all at Mendez Marine couldn't do enough.
We had a great mixture of people on the course, we all got on fantastically and it was quite sad when we had to leave. I would return for the next level like a shot and I travelled from Cheshire.

Another great course at Mendez Marine! My second time back, the booking process was straight forward and easy, all questions I had were answered through the website and Jon replied to all emails quickly. Steve, the instructor, was excellent - thorough and very knowledgable. Boats are in great condition. And the location of the school is on possibly the best training area in the world. We got into boating 5 years ago and both my husband and I had Mendez Marine recommended to us by several people when we were looking to do our PB2.
We booked it, had a fantastic instructor who made the whole process thoroughly enjoyable and since then, frankly, we have never looked back.
I've since gone on to do my Day Skipper practical and theory with them and am now in the throws of my Coastal Skipper theory. I've also done the Sea Survival with them and if you haven't done that...do it!! It's an invaluable course for sure and more than that, Mendez make it brilliant fun.
They offer many courses aside from the above all of which are well worth considering.
We have found Mendez Marine to be not just professional (which goes without saying) but their teaching style, knowledge and experience instils confidence.
Perhaps above all, they make it fun.
I can thoroughly recommend them whether you're just starting out or a seasoned boater wanting to further your skills. More...

If you are thinking of taking up a new hobby, Mendez Marine is the place to learn how. I recently completed my RYA Powerboat Level 2 with them, it was fantastic!
