My girlfriend and I had afternoon tea at Olin’s. I must have mentioned that I was a diabetic because the chef tailored the sandwiches and appetizers to be more savory. It was well presented on a three tiered plate stand which looked very impressive. We were asked to choose three different teas to try during our tea. My friend and I both agree that the size of the teacups should have been smaller. The tea cooled too quickly in those large teacups. I will see if I can attach some photos with this post. Ollin Tea & Café is a hidden treasure in Anchorage and a legit Mexican bakery serving amazing breads, deserts, and coffees in addition to the most amazing array of teas! My first visit was joining my best friend for High Tea. We each got to choose three teas from 100s of choices, and then were served an amazing tray of appetizers, a lunch, and dessert. The chef makes each selection from fresh ingredients, with the ability for each bite to change flavor as you drink more tea.My other visits have improved (if even possible) as I have explored more of the menu, sampling the Mexican Coffee (a family recipe), enjoying the Mexican baked goods - which are so legit my husband has me going to pick him up these treats on a weekly basis as he finds they meet the roots of his culture, and the taco Tuesdays are delightful with homemade tortillas.Join the points program for discounts! I finally found pandulce in Alaska! Ever since I moved up here, I have been on the hunt for good pandulce & found the spot. The vanilla concha (shell) that I got was super fresh and hit all of my expectations! They also have mexican coffee which is super good in general but I didn't try it this time. Decided to try Ollin after seeing a smoothie of theirs pop up on Instagram, and I've never been more pleased with a targeted advertisement! Today I tried the baja wrap, with an extra side of creamy chipotle dressing, and a mangonada smoothie. It was the perfect meal for this hot summer day. The baja wrap had generous portions of juicy chicken, some super fresh pico, and a host of other stuff that combined to be a great flavor that filled me up but didn't make me feel bogged down. But be warned, this wrap is MOIST. Maybe because it sat in my car for the long ride home, or maybe I'm bad at eating, or maybe that's just how it is, but it was definitely running down my arm. I thought the wrap was the highlight until I tried the smoothie...THE SMOOTHIE! This alone would be a 5-star order. I live on the east side of town but will gladly drive to Ollin just for this smoothie. The mango is so fresh and refreshing, and you can't beat the classic Mango + Tajin flavor combo, plus the surprise chunks of mango at the bottom of the drink are delish. Definitely don't sleep on the tamarindo straw.... I dont know how to explain the flavor of tamarind, it's sweet and spicy and there's something unique about it. Fast and yummy and they have mangonadas!! Also tried their taco Tuesday special, al pastor. They are amazing, flavor was pretty close to tacos I got in San Diego, which says a lot.

The tea is really fresh and only takes a bit longer to make because they brew it on the spot when you order. If you aren't a fan of that subtle "tea" flavor that you get from normal teas. Then try it sweetened! They have lots of flavors to choose from and I really enjoy the freshness. Although the tapioca is only so so. Overall the tea here is pretty good quality and underrated. This place is a true hidden gem. They serve sandwiches, coffee, tea, smoothies and your favorite Mexican pan dulce. Their tea selection is phenomenal, they have varieties of green, herbal, white and black. Amazing! I'm always on the hunt for a good place to get a salad, most of the time I end up disappointed getting a saggy salad with canned chicken from other restaurants but Olin Tea & Cafe is so fresh! My boyfriend got the BLT here and said it was the best BLT he's ever had. They also make their own sauce and holy cow it was awesome! My husband is diabetic so we decided in order to take some stress off of menu planning we would order special meals to be delivered every week. Chef Alex is amazing! Everything is so delicious and downright special. I’m happy to cook dinner knowing everything is prepared. I just have to cook it per the simple instructions. I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff are so nice and very professional, they are knowledgeable about their products, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Marvelous spot for tea! There was an entire wall of different varieties. Went home with Maghreb Mint and Alpine Licorice. My first experience was getting a to-go order of Mayan tacos and chicken adobo tacos. Not cheap tacos in comparison to other places but I'd say they are my favorite in town. This cafe is a "hidden gem" as they say, sorta tucked out of the way. Dont let the word "tea" throw you! They also offer espresso, coffee, fresh smoothies and a great selection of sandwiches, salads, breakfast options, etc! Home made food with a balanced selection for all tastes. The proprietors definitely have an eye for detail in everything. Clean, relaxing place for a quality meal. If it was located in midtown or downtown, it would be jammed during lunch and places like Middleway would have serious competition.,,! We have had lunch here twice and enjoyed it very much. The Southwest Salad with chicken was tasty and served in attractive dishes at cute tables with place mats and teapots on each table. I asked for salsa and it was spicy, fresh and delicious. The salad was fresh. The meals are prepared when ordered, so this isn't fast food. They have a huge selection of teas that you can smell in small sample jars. I enjoyed two different kinds of chai lattes.
