I visited from New Zealand over christmas 2018 and absolutely loved it! Had dinner here on a thursday night during the farmers market and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was just as I expected, tasted so good! Loved the atmosphere too, staff were really friendly. Great restaurant, highly recommend! Will definitely go back next time I visit SLO. More...

Love this low key place for a good old Santa Maria BBQ Tri tips. What a lovely place for a unpretentious bite to eat in downtown SLO.

Best tri tip sandwiches in town. Bbq sauce and fries with it are a must. The home made strawberry lemonade is the cherry on top.

Truly a cut above. The corn pie is magnificent and the Tri tip and pork sliders are to die for. Best BBQ on the central coast!

BBQ good enough (great actually) to stand on it's own! No bbq sauce required. Sides are also delicious. And that Tap Rooom.... winner!

What a great meal! Reasonably priced. Food was really good. I got the beans as a side and but I would probably rather of had the corn pie (GF). Sounds crazy but the food was great and the service even better.I highly recommend this place if you're in the area and want a comfortable place to eat at. They also have a wall of beer on tap. Neat place. More...

I have to say - this was one strange dining experience. You walk in and are greeted by a huge taxidermy bison and then into the main dining area where there are lots more "stuffed animals" - If that's not your thing - avoid this place at all costs. We were seated and before my dining companion returned from the restroom the waitress arrived with a huge cast iron pot of beef soup/stew and a bowl of beans. (My vegetarian dining companion was bummed that there wasn't just a little something for him as even the beans had meat in them). The beef soup/stew was pretty yummy and I could have filled up on that and on the salad that came with my dinner alone. I did order the Strip Steak combo meal and the steak was VERY VERY good - great char and smokey flavor, perfectly cooked medium rare + which is why I am giving this place 4 starts - a great steak is a good thing to get you on your drive to LA. The dinner came with some veggies and skillet fried potatoes and onions. My veggie friend had a dinner salad, baked potato and this huge cast iron skillet of nicely cooked veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrots and yellow squash) - no way one person could eat all those veggies in one sitting. Besides the steak - the best part of this meal was the amazing hash I made for breakfast the next day with the left over potatoes, veggies and steak topped with poached eggs. Oh - and the dinner comes with a root-beer float (or aperitif) - no other choices - go figure - told you this place was strange. I honestly kinda wish I could've just had the salad, totally yummy perfectly cooked steak and a baked potato and skipped all the other stuff. Oh well. More...

Good food, great flavor. The corn pie is especially nice. The portions are small though, so it seems a bit overpriced. The BBQ at Firestone, which is just down the street, is better and you get more bang for your buck. The seating area at this place is ok, nothing special. There is an arcade game inside which is fun. They also have a pour-your-own tap system along the back wall which is interesting. There are about 40 or so beers/ciders (only a couple ciders, but still, cool!) on tap. Good service. Overall worth checking out. More...

The fries here are really good. I got the tri-tip sandwich and that was good too. The staff was friendly and I have no complaints with the decor and whatnot. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend giving this place for some solis BBQ More...

Excellent selection of self serve beers. You won't find your average taps here. Hopefully they keep the rotating handles, rotating. The food was average BBQ. It's good, but nothing that made me want to come back for more. The beer selection however, did. More...

Much better tritip sandwich than Firestone's in my opinion. Solid beer selection. I little pricey for the portion. Definitely worth a shot.

Nice lunch stop. You order at walk up window outside, but can pick up order inside to eat. Outside seating is somewhat shaded. Had the pulled pork sandwich, tri-tip sandwich and the apple-cucumber coleslaw. Meats were tender, moist and very well seasoned. Priced well for the location (central coast college town). Close walking distance to mission, and if you are a shopper you are in the heart of everything. Looking forward to next trip to stop again. More...

Delicious food no matter what you get. Easy to order and lots of room right by the beautiful creek and murmur of downtown SLO. Also 42 beers on tap many if not all are local, and it's self serve, can it get better? Kid friendly as well and great views and open seating/ space. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting the area or looking for quick but great food that's not junk. Walking distance from all downtown areas and parking usually not too bad for the part of town that it is. Perfect for a date without the kids. More...

I enjoy their food so much!! The employees are also friendly and helpful. The taproom has a great selection. I feel like I can bring my kids here and not be judged if they make some noise (regular, healthy, kid noise) while we eat and play games. We love to bring family from out of town here too-they always enjoy the food and atmosphere too. More...

Park right next to it in the parking lot didn’t have to pay the meter because it’s free before 1:00pm. Order the Pit Plate they gave me three big pieces of trip. The garlic bread was perfect finished all my fries. Had to order and extra side of corn bread and also order a root beer float. So good so worth it. More...

Such an awesome BBQ joint! Definitely one of the very best on the California Central Coast. That pulled pork is perfect. .. a little too perfect. Their new tap room has 48+ taps for beer, wine and hard cider. The tap system is a cool new Self Serve system which is a fantastic experience for nearly anyone. Amazing place! A little confusing at first where to order, sit, get food. I ordered a chicken slider and a pork slider. They were amazing. I don't know what kind of roll they use for them but it was AMAZING!!! The strawberry lemonade was also very good!
