Talk about a blast! Bonnie is so amazing. She tells the best stories, and explains things in a way that even the most inexperienced cook could understand, and makes you feel great about the things you make. Plus she is just the sweetest. And that doesn't even start to touch on her incredible cooking. We may not be in New Orleans, but you would never know when you're eating her incredible Cajun fare! I had so much fun at one of Bonnie's pop-up dinners at Mardi Gras that I came to a Zydeco dance event and a Saturday community dinner.  I watch her cooking segments on utube that are recorded and aired on KATU fairly often.  Bonnie uses organic meats and excellent quality ingredients.  This is truly home cooked style, many dishes starting 2 days prior so meats can properly marinate and gumbos or soups become even tastier.  Creole is flavorful food, not hot like Cajun.  (If you like it hotter, you can add hot sauce.). Bonnie talks about the origins of Creole food and the history of how French and West African cuisines came together.  Bonnie grew up in New Orleans and she uses many of the recipes from her grandmother.  Expect a warm and friendly atmosphere and to connect with wonderful people who follow her events.  I'm looking forward to attending her cooking classes soon!
