We used the two week board and train service in October 2019. Our trainer was Savanna. Our dog is a very sweet but very stubborn Great Pyrenees. We received daily pictures, updates and videos of him and his improvement . It was amazing. We are very happy with how he was treated and the wonderfulthings he accomplished in only 2Weeks . We will be saving up the money to send our other Pyr soon ! More...

This is for OLK9 Augusta and training with Ryan Wuelfing.YOU SAVED MY DOG REGGIE’S LIFE! He was an anxious mess of a shelter dog. He was even scared to go outside. He went to the bathroom all over the house and was a compulsive chewer. I dared Ryan and told him he has met his match. I was wrong. He performed a miracle with Reggie over his two weeks and even though he never quite made it fully off-leash, Reggie is a new dog.Now about a month after his training with Ryan, he runs outside through the doggie door, plays with the other dogs in the house (I have four) and hasn’t had an accident yet.The two week training is very expensive, but worth every penny. Reggie is now our best dog and incredibly happy. It’s really miraculous. More...

He has the ability to be off leash with much stimuli and distractions around him while he awaits his next command. While Major had basic training prior to Off Leash Training, the training we learned and implemented have afforded him to be recognized as well behaved wherever he goes. Thanks Off Leash K9! We chose the two week boarding and train and would highly, highly recommend to anyone. We did the Eight Week Reactive/Aggressive Training (This is long). We rescued a blue nose pitbull who was becoming very reactive as she reached maturity. She was fighting with our other two dogs and lunging at our neighbors. My partner and I felt we didn't have control of our household anymore. Giving her up was not an option for us, but we were stressed out, frustrated, sad and scared. Realizing we needed help I began calling a LOT of trainers. This included companies and individual trainers. I won't go into detail about what everyone said, but I will say this, Joanne made me feel the best about our situation. She told me that our Ruby was unsure of who was in charge in our household. That she is not a true alpha-dog, but since she didn't know who was in charge she was trying to take on that role. This stressed HER out and that was why she was acting reactively (a true alpha will not act out unless absolutely necessary). Joanne stated that once we learned how to handle the situation, Ruby would find relief that she no longer had to be in charge. I can't tell how much better I felt just SPEAKING to her. We had a few concerns about what training we wanted and pricing and she worked with us on figuring out and option that worked for us. I truly felt she wanted to make sure we got the help we needed. Now on to the training...We had three facility lessons and five in-home reactive lessons. All of the trainers at the facility were very knowledgeable and helped us get the basics down in no time. We worked the most with Mike Trimble as he was our in-home trainer and we are so pleased with the results! Mike is wonderful. He is incredibly knowledgeable and helps you to understand YOUR dog. He is always calm. He never tried to touch our dog (which we really appreciated!). He was respectful to her and taught us how to work WITH her instead of having her work FOR us. He taught us how to respect Ruby's needs. Ultimately, it was a training for us ;) I can't even begin to explain how comfortable we are handling our little love now. Will she always be reactive? Probably. She still needs to be highly monitored. But we don't freeze up or freak out when she reacts anymore. I have rescued dogs my entire life and I must have gotten very lucky, because I never had one that didn't like other people or dogs. It's so hard to have a dog that you have such a strong bond with and who is so sweet to you and your partner, but put simply, just doesn't like anyone else. I thought I had done something wrong. I thought I wasn't as good of dog owner as I thought I was. And maybe I wasn't. But after working with Mike, I feel like I know so much more than I ever did before and most importantly I have the knowledge and tools I need to respect and handle my dog effectively and appropriately. Ruby is the easiest dog in our household now and she used to be the most difficult. Oh man, I could continue to go on and on and on about all of her progress, but to sum it all up...I am so happy I called and talked to Joanne that day and I am thrilled Mike Trimble was our in-home trainer. I can't imagine where we would be without Off Leash K9 training. Our quality of life has improved having gone through their program. If you are looking for not only an affordable, but a high quality program for your reactive dog I highly recommend checking them out and if you are in the Marietta area, you will not be disappointed with Mike. Thank you Mike and Off Leash! You have created one happy, relieved and satisfied customer. Ruby thanks you too! More...

We adopted what has to be world's cutest, most treat-motivated, trainable puppy around :-)....but were having distraction issues. He behaved well, alone with us at home, but turned into a different dog out in public around distractions of any kind, but especially with his two favorites: people and other dogs, who he adores. It got to where it was difficult to take him out with us, which is no fun for us OR our pup. None of what I was doing was working. One day, I ran across a young woman out getting coffee in my favorite shop with her dog....and his behavior and focus on her, in spite of all of the people and noise distractions, impressed me so much I asked for the name of her trainer. And here I am writing this review! (My apologies for the length.) I LOVE Off Leash. Taylor (our trainer) is gentle, firm and kind and patient. Teddy took right to the method, which is humane and incredibly smart. (I have had dogs all of my life and from here forward, I can't imagine using another training method.) They truly teach YOU how to teach and work with your dog. I noticed a difference from lesson 1. You do need to be consistent with the training and work you do at home with your pupper, as with any method. We are planning on a few refresher lessons, but I now take Teddy out with us whenever and wherever I can, which makes both Teddy and our entire family WAY happier. We plan to move into agility training with Teddy next, and we couldn't even consider that without the foundation of excellent training provided by Off Leash. More...

Awesome experience from the very beginning. I met Thomas in Macon and we hit it off right away. I was a little early for the meet and greet; so I took my German Sheperd for a walk in the park. We met Thomas in the park and he described his plan of training immediately. He is/was very professional throughout my dogs training period. He answered any questions I had when he posted nightly updates to my email address. I was very impressed being able to see the progress daily with great photographs and short video's. Thomas and Baron got along right away and I was surprised when Thomas opened his car door and invited Baron into it. Baron just went with him. I believe that they established a bond right away. My wife actually started to bug me every night if I had received the update yet. They were always there and she and I felt relaxed watching Baron's training progress. AT turnover to us at Home Depot, we got to work with Baron as well under Thomas's guidance. We learned how do use the tins and collar and how it operates. He went over the commands that we should use along with when and how to use the tins and collar and how to turn it on and off. We were given this along with the 15' training leash. We felt very confident that with what training we were given that we could continue Baron's training at home and correct any bad behavior should any happen. Thomas informed us of the life guarantee for training a told us just to contact you/him if we needed any refresher training. With my time in the military, I am very difficult to impress; however I must say, that this entire experience left me very impressed with the entire experience and that we definitely received our wonderful member of our family back trained. My great dane, Xander, was trained by offleash k9 training. We went to the puppy lesson at 4 months old and when he turned 5 months went back for the basic lessons. Once they are 5 months old an e collar is used with training. The trainer will let you hold it in your hand and feel the stimulation. It didn't hurt. It feels like a light pins and needles feeling. The remote has a dial 0 to 100 and my dog reacted to it at a lower number then I could feel in my hand. Our trainer did an amazing job teaching me how to train Xander using the e collar. He is now a year and a half. I don't always use the e collar and he follows commands without. If I am bringing him out in public where there will be a lot of distractions I put it on him incase. I have a rescue dog that was dog aggressive and she would not follow even the simplest of commands. I turned her over to Jake in Peachtree City, GA desperate to give our dog some manners. She spent two weeks in intensive training working on commands and getting comfortable being around other dogs. Jake would send me daily videos of Faith’s progress. Had I not seen the proof I would not have believed it possible. She followed commands and was able to heel with distractions on walks on the city’s golf cart paths. Jake was even able to drop her leash and she would remain calm and seated. Before training she would have been gone in a flash. She is also a “runner.”When I picked her up, I was instructed on how to continue the training and I left with a decidedly different tempered dog. Jake made sure I knew that without continuing her training at home she could revert, so we continue to practice. It is not as complicated as it was when I tried to go it alone with training. Faith and I both now have the tools to make this work. We are now on day 4. She will still try to get her way periodically but I know what to do and so does she. I am very pleased with the attention and training Faith received from Off Leash K9 Training. I highly recommend the two week intensive training if you have a stubborn dog or if you are like me, not much of a disciplinarian when implementing dog training. It can make all the difference. Q&As

We love helping people form a better bond with their dog so that life is more enjoyable for everyone! We work with all types of behavioral issues from fear/anxiety, dog aggression and human aggression. We love seeing the transformation in the dog and owners confidence as they work through our program.

Bryan & JoAnne Swihart are the owners and head trainers for the Off Leash K9 Training program in Peachtree City, Smyrna, Duluth, Athens, Columbus, Augusta, and Macon. We moved to the Atlanta area to settle near family after opening successful locations in Charlottesville, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Bryan is an Army veteran with multiple deployments; while deployed he was impressed with military working dog’s impeccable obedience training and high level of confidence enabling them to be the most well trained canines in the world. Bryan has a lifelong love of dogs starting with his first dog “Squeak,” who used to sleep under his crib every night. He has owned and trained a wide assortment of dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Pitbulls; including his current comrades, a Rejected Labradoodle, American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, and the newest addition a German Shepherd Hound Mix. Bryan has a special love for “Bully Breeds” and wants to empower people to showcase what wonderfully loyal and loving dogs they really are. After serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, he can now focus where his passion is. With a degree in business and finance giving him a solid small business foundation, with the precision and passion needed to transform your dog from unruly to obedient, frightened to confident, timid to content.

JoAnne’s passion is transforming fearful and anxious pups into stable confident members of the family! This passion began 5 years ago while fostering an extremely fearful young pup, who soon became a beloved member of the family. Obedience training helped transform the dog from a dog who was terrified of people to a super snuggle bug and constant companion for their 4 year old son. JoAnne has background in business and biological research and left her corporate career to join her husband in running Off Leash K9 Training, Georgia full time 4 years ago.

Bryan and JoAnne are thrilled to bring Off Leash K9 Training to Georgia, specializing in the same obedience training techniques used by the military and law enforcement. This style of training encompasses his core beliefs and philosophy of consistency, fairness, and crystal clear communication that will turn your dog into a well behaved member of society in any situation.

1. A Guarantee: We guarantee that you’ll see a difference in your dog at the end of the first lesson AND we guarantee your dog will be flawlessly obedient if you follow our guidance for 30 minutes of practice between lessons. If you don’t see a difference at the end of the first lesson we’ll buy the collar back from you and refund your money!

2. An Off Leash Future: Our goal is for every dog to know what it’s like to live off leash – free! And for every owner to experience the pride, confidence, and joy of having a dog off leash that is reliably and consistently obedient, under any level of distraction.

3. Hope for dogs of ANY BREED, ANY AGE, and ANY SIZE: We don’t discriminate – if a “trainer” tells you they charge more for certain breeds or do not train certain breeds, they may not be a real “trainer”! Dogs are never too old, too lazy or too stubborn to learn using our methods. We can also help blind and deaf dogs, and dogs with other disabilities overcome them and be confident, obedient pups! Aggression or confidence issues? Call us – those are our specialty!

Helping people enjoy their pups in ways they did not think possible.

Services

This package will teach your pup to understand and respond to the basic commands all pups should know, off leash with distractions. So it is called basic but this package will get your pup farther than most trainers advanced training! Like I always say “Our methods train obedience not tricks, if your dog can not hold and perform the commands under distraction they are just performing tricks.” We will not only train your pup to be a well behaved member of society, we also train you to better understand your pup.

Come, Sit, and Extended Sit
Break – Your pup will “stay” in the last command until it hears this release word.
Down and Extended Down
Place and Extended Place – They will sit on a specific location that you point to (chair, park bench, etc) and stay there until released.
Heel and Loose Leash Walking- They will walk right beside of you on a leash or off. No more pulling!
Off – Command for all unwanted behavior such as jumping, mouthing, counter-surfing, talking back, excessive barking, etc.
Additional – As you are working through our obedience, we will also be working on the specific issues you may be facing.

*Includes 4 private, 1-hour lessons, 15ft training lead, and Off Leash K9 Training E-collar ($200+ retail value), for $615 (or 3 monthly payments of $205).
**Extended sit, down, and place means your dog will REMAIN in the down, sit, or place position until YOU tell them to “break” (release them).
***It is called basic but these 4 lessons will get you farther than most trainers advanced training!
****For dogs under 5 months old please see Puppy Consultation.
*****Lessons will be scheduled at least a week apart and be prepared to practice daily for at least 30 minutes.
