I'm from Russia and let me tell you that Chef Tony really loves his craft. His food is and taste very fresh. People from my country only know fresh ingredients and I could taste immediately the freshness of the Nola shrimp and grits. Savory spicy flavorful!

WOW!! Occasions is easily one of the best places I've eaten. I don't want to compare it to regular food trucks because the passion and flavor Tony makes is just that good. The chicken po boy was crispy with deliciously seasoned grilled chicken, fresh veggies, mustard and remoulade just meshed together for an awesome bite each time. The truffle smoked Gouda Mac n cheese was phenomenal best truffle Mac I've had so far in la. The smoked Gouda pairs extremely well with the white truffle oil and the Panko crumbs on top ! I could eat 2 giant bowls of this stuff.  The beignets with powdered sugar were the lightest and fluffiest beignets I've had in my life!! The powdered sugar on top made them one of my favorite desserts. Occasion is a New Orleans food truck serving top tier food. A must try for everyone. Update just tried the shrimp and grits with nola sauce.. superb! The contrast of sweet and savory is finger licking good. Occasion is just masterful at mixing flavors. I was so happy to see a new food truck in front of my work building. I wasn't able to try the food last week bcus I came out after lunch time and he was wrapping up to leave for the day but said he comes on Wednesday's so I was at the spot today. ..in the rain  . I didn't know what to get first off the menu so I tried the shrimp & grits. I've never had this dish before but it looked and sounded so tasty I took a chance. I must say that I was very satisfied . I can't wait to try the next thing on the menu. I was also able to try a beignet, thanks to one of the managers in my office who also tried #eatoccasionfoodtruck for the first time too, and it was good as well. I look forward to next Wednesday so I can explore more from the menu (gotta get that Mac-n-Cheese). The only thing I would change is the container my food came in. Would liked to have like a plastic container with a lid to keep that good sauce from wasting if you happen to tilt it. Thank you for coming to our location in #DTLA, we needed a nice change here. OMG!!!! the food was AMAZING!!!!!! I indulged in the Rich Boy which consists of fried or grilled halibut. I chose grilled and I inhaled it. Make sure to ask for the combo which comes with fries and choice of drink.  Mines was the homemade lemonade. The hali8was seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY! It had just the right amount of Nola sauce, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. When I 1st placed my order it took a little longer than expected, and as I waited to be called. I saw dish after dish come out that truck and EVERYONE had koolaid smiles walking away. I tried to only eat half of the sandwich since it was so big, but .... yep devoured it. I am the PTA President at my daughters’ school. We had our yearly Halloween event scheduled and with a little more than 24 hours to go time, the food truck we’ve used before cancelled on us. I made numerous calls to other food trucks but with it being a Friday night I was having zero luck. One truck I called offered to post our information on a local message board to see if anyone could help. Occasion called me within 11 minutes of my sending the email. They were available to help us! Chef Tony and Dawn came to our event and prepared for us an amazing choice of po’boys, chicken & waffles, french fries and the tastiest lemonade I think I’ve ever had! The line was snaking through our parking lot and I kept hearing voices of approval all throughout the event! I lost a few years of my life and gained a few gray hairs trying to find a truck for our event, but we could not have been more pleased with how Occasion saved the day for our school. GET EXTRA NAPKINS- Beardos beware!I really liked what the business owner wrote "my goal has always been to create an unforgettable dining experience through the use of unique flavor profiles. "  Really made me want to try the truck.I really wanted to try the Halibut Po Boy, that sounded different to me but unfortunately they werent serving it even as it was on the menu.I was torn between the Gouda Mac and Cheese and the fried chicken Po boy so I opted to get both.  The fried chicken sandwich was pretty large. Enough for two people to share.  The bagette was toasted nicely and the chicken was large (long) enough for the bagette.  Though the crust was crunchy I felt like it kind of lacked flavor. There was a LOT of sauce which aided in taste but the sauce was drenching.  Though it complemented the dryness of the bread (and I say that as a good thing), it was very messy to eat.  There was a strong flavor of mustard / and or dill which was definitely predominate which in a chicken Po boy I would think that chicken would be the one that sticks out.  Perhaps a little spiciness to the chicken would be nice in my oppinion or Jalepenos in the Po Boy.I would say the sandwich is along the lines of a good food truck sandwich, I would caution people who are worried about getting food on their face because every bite i had a grip of sauce on the side of my face almost like a Carls Jr commercial.The Mac and Cheese definitely needs some love, the gouda or any elevated cheese flavor was just not really there. I had the catfish sandwich today with a side of the truffle mac n cheese.  The sandwich was delicious, but I'd cut back on the slathered on melted butter.  The mac n cheese was pretty good, but I think a small side order has enough calories to feed a family of 4 for a day.I will happily try them again next time they roll by our office. Awesome food for a great price. Po'boy sauce was out of this world. Really amazing quality and great service. I'd highly recommend anybody who considers themselves a foodie or someone who frequents food trucks to go try Occasion.
