During the summer, O'Brian tidied up the felting and sealed the seams on my flat roof. While I was happy with this work, I was extremely unhappy that the flashings in the valley and along the wall of the flat roof continued to leak heavily after rain - my original reason for hiring them. Despite numerous calls/emails and their promise that they would return to fix the flashings, they never showed. And I had to get another roofing company in to fix the flashings. I was disappointed particularly as they had come recommended. I would not hire them again and would not recommend them. These guys gave us a very competitive quote at least less than half of what we had been quoted by several other companies . They stripped the roof re felted re batoned and set all the ridge tiles and even carried out a couple of minor repairs on the chimney not on the quotation . I could not reccommned a roofing company any higher than O' Briens. I got them out to insatll a new flat roof and also repair an existing damaged flat roof. These lads are top drawer in both their work and custiomer service. I also required a quote and damage report for my insurance company and they had emailed to me within hours of assessment. I've used a couple of different roofing companies previously and have been let down badly by dishonest work or botched jobs. I would never use any other roofers apart from O' Briens. O'Brien's replaced a flat roof on our garage and fitted a warm roof with skylight. Written quotation and insurance details were provided in hard copy ahead of starting. I recently had an urgent need to have a flat roof repaired. I spoke with three roofers over a period of four weeks and three turned out to be unreliable. We had serious problems with our leaking roof a few weeks ago in the middle of two storms. I contacted O'Brien roofing and the lady on the phone had Sammy contact me immediately. He was here within an hour and having surveyed the roof and explaining in detail the job to be done and the overall cost of replacing the whole roof, he had his guys start the next morning. They were on time and worked to secure the roof immediately. They were professional, courteous, hard working, and cleaned up every day. Sammy was in contact throughout to make sure we were happy with the work. Sammy was going to replace the plastic cladding on the bathroom dormer for us but gave us a choice of using the same roof slates instead. The results are amazing. I'm not happy with the fitting of the IKO Armourflex to my dormer. I felt dealing with Sammy and his colleague was difficult and both of them denied that anything was incorrect with the installation. I was told that the creases and waves would tighten up with a few months, however it's been 7months and the roof is exactly the same as the day it was installed. It does appear to be watertight, but the creases make it visibly unattractive. I will avoid O'Brien Roofing in future. More...
