I brought my puppy of 9 years, Daisy, here after she had gotten very sick while I was away from home. She had to have pyometra surgery the very same night that I brought her. The entire staff was outstandingly supportive and understanding throughout the entire experience, and I wouldn't have chosen anyone better to save the life of my best friend. I'm not sure why all the bad reviews. I see this a lot for vets.  People... these are doctors for animals. Imagine if you visited the ED with no insurance paying. Thousands of dollars!!! They have to make money to cover their overhead. You are told up front the cost and then it is up to you to decide. You showed up there, he didn't go find you. That being said I found this place online looking for a vet that sees exotics. It's an older office so I'm pretty sure he's not taking your money and living large. I digress. Dr Ratliff was so very helpful and took his time with my critters. It took a few visits and rounds of antibiotics but Marshmallow was feeling herself again and Baby was nice and green. The staff is nothing but nice. They take care credit so you can make payments. This other review about him having a gun in his pocket made me laugh. Good grief. Get over yourself. I know exactly what tool he had. It takes the shape of a bent type of tool but is actually used to get a good look into animals eyes and noses. Those accusations are dangerous to throw around without basis to a person's reputation. So don't. He's a great humble vet that I would recommend. More...

Dr. Ratnoff and the vet techs were AMAZING, super honest, gentle, and kind treatment of my rat. They showed so much compassion for her and he even sat me down with a textbook and told me in detail what he thought was making her sick. Was also readily willing to work with my finances, which I greatly appreciated, and my baby immediately felt so much better the next day. My cat was sick and had to make an emergency appointment. Arrived there at midnight and Dr Spencer was waiting for us. Can not thank him enough for that. Yesterday was my 1st visit at the facility for my 2 guinea pigs. The doctor was very kind and caring as well as the staff. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and the experience was consistent throughout. I am not made of money and needed to have the 1 piggy looked at for an issue. I took the other as a precaution. He gave them thorough exams while being gentle. At the end of it all, I was not only pleased with the physician but the staff as well. I had the most divine experience with my fur babies. Totally worth the money!!!They were able to squeeze me in last minute. They took the time to win over my grumpy German Shepherd. They were super sweet and gentle with both of my puppers.Now, almost a week later, I have received a letter from them thanking me for my business and even included a coupon and a brochure of other services that they offer. I was at a pet event today and there a dog in distress. The vet from this office left his booth without hesitations to assess the sick dog, and escorted the owners to their car (I’m assuming for treatment). Seeing this makes me know this location is the place to take my pets! He obviously cares so much that he would even take the time to assist off hours. Wonderful to see!! We were visiting Fort Lauderdale from Canada and were at a loss as to where to go for our emergency. We Brought our very sick 5 year old Cavalier King Charles to Dr Ratnoff very late in the evening. He stayed and worked with us until well past midnight. He did thorough testing and was very personally concerned about what course of treatment we needed to follow and took his time putting together a plan and the appropriate medications. Thanks to him Bentley is on the mend. We had 2 follow up appointments where he was visibly cheered to see the improvement. we have since comeBack to Canada and Bentley is recouping. From now on Bentley will only see Dr Ratnoff, if necessary,when we are down there. As an exotic pet owner for over 5 years, I’m no stranger to having to be on guard for vets who are quick to substitute doing the right thing, for making a few extra dollars. My old exotic vet is over a 35 minute drive from my house and my bearded dragon was in dire straights, so I took a chance and came to Oakland Park Animal Hospital. Dr. Ratnoff is the most honest, caring and experienced vet I’ve ever had the pleasure of bringing my pet to. My beardie unfortunately had to be put down, but Dr. Ratnoff told me immediately after a physical exam and saved me hundreds of dollars doing useless tests. The compassion and understand he and his staff showed me was overwhelming and so genuine. We took our boxer to Oakland Park Animal Hospital at 10:45 PM because she was limping and whimpering in pain. Dr. Ratnoff met ushered and examined her. Last weekend had to bring in my harlee in for emergencie on the busy Saturday midday the staff got her in in no time at all and was able too do blood test on her and find the problem and they where able to get her the proper shots within a few hours later she was doing 100% better Dr Rattnoff and staff have been a great team for my 3 beagles over the the last 5 Year’s just wanted to say thank you. what started it was we used Dr S....... on US1 for 20 Year’s had a wonderful dog George go to his vets office brought him in one day for problems they said he had diabetes and gave him only 6 months to live because he was a 130# dog and two shots a day had to go back with one of our cats because he went to jail (was traped sent to BCAC) told the Dr about George still alive 6.5 Year’s latter all they said was SO I guess that’s what happens when you sell to a large company - - - .so thanks again for the wonderful service from you and your staff Robbie singleton. I am a nurse of over 25 years, served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a medic , volunteer for the VA and the Red Cross and cared for both my parents till they passed. I wish that now that their was a doctor out there that could give quality care and attention to the patient like our Jack A Roe got here. I was so impressed that I have made them Jack's primary Doctor.
