There’s nothing at all I could recommend about this venue I would not recommend anyone to get married here especially after giving feedback the took weeks to respond and didn’t seem to care about ruining our wedding day at all shamble Food is disgusting staff clueless no staffing and the attitude they give when they talk so highly of themselves is poor I wouldn’t even give this venue a 1 star

Really nice hotel. Spotless modern and welcoming. Evening meal was beautiful Bedroom spacious and bed clean and comfy. Nice bathroom with a hot shower. Great staff throughout. We got married Saturday 1st June and can’t thank Emily and all the staff here enough! Our day went so smoothly and without a hitch, it was just perfect! They were all so professional and ensured everything was just perfect! Emily you really were fabulous and our day was just amazing! It was relaxed but you were all so organised. Emily stayed all day ensuring it all went how it should and the staff were wonderful. From when I arrived helping to calm my nerves to the tasty and hot food, turning the room around perfectly and being on hand whenever needed, I just can’t praise them all enough!! Would like to thank Emily and all of the staff at Oak Royal. We got married here on 24th May and I cannot praise the staff enough. They did so much to make our day run smoothly and just perfect. All guests said how well it ran and how much effort they put into looking after everyone. Would recommend here for weddings as they are commited to making the day the best it can be. we got married here on friday 7th of september and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff was well organised they went above and beyond for me and my husband, amy the wedding co-ordinator was brilliant throughout our journey and delievered an excellent service on the day. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Oak Royal Hotel on 15.04.17. It was a perfect day! We would highly recommend this venue for a wedding.
Amy and Grant were great from when we first booked last Summer until our Wedding Day.
It is a great setting for a wedding day - we've got some wonderful pictures outside and inside. It works really well having the function room and bar area in reception as you feel like you've got the whole hotel to yourselves (the restaurant is upstairs and has a separate entrance).
The room looked stunning for our wedding ceremony (we would definitely recommend getting the sparkly backdrop from Add a Little Sparkle). Amy and Grant coordinated everything perfectly during the ceremony - Amy with the music and Grant with the bridal party.
The hotel staff changed the room very quickly from a ceremony setting to the wedding breakfast setting - after our photos, the room was all ready for us to look it (and it looked perfect!) The alcove area was perfect for our cake table. We had gone for a square top table instead of a long top table - it looked great.
As the photos had gone quicker than expected, we decided to have a receiving line into the room. This was a change to our original plan and Grant was very accommodating. We had the speeches before the meal which Grant coordinated (the only suggestion we would add is that a microphone would be useful for the speeches as our guests on the back tables were struggling to hear).
Everyone commented on how good the food was. Thank you to the chefs. Also, it came out really quickly to all guests (especially considering we had menu choices so there were certain numbers of each choice to bring to each table). The staff were great.
Again, the hotel staff very quickly removed the tables and put the dance floor down ready for our evening reception. For the evening reception, we had a live band. Guests could choose to either be in the main room with the band or in the sports bar next door. We had a Photo Booth in the entrance room which worked really well as it didn't take up space in the main room. The buffet was really good - we had just gone for the option that came in with the package and there was lots of choice of both hot and cold foods. At the end of the night, we moved into the sports bar. Thank you to the night porter who kept coming back to serve drinks to the small group of us left talking until about 3am!
Many of our guests stayed over (one of the many advantages of this hotel is they have lots of rooms and they are really lovely) so we enjoyed breakfast with them the next morning. Before we left, Grant ensured that we had got everything to take with us- our cake, flowers, name cards, table plan, cards and gifts.
