I was lucky enough to find him on Instagram and after our first call and reviewing his amazing work, I couldn’t have been more excited to book a session! From outfits to locations and even hair and makeup artists, he was always helpful, responsive and felt more like a friend than someone you hire. Matias is AMAZING! He is a very talented photographer with unique styles and a fun personality. We have had a few photoshoots with him now and he gets our highest recommendation! I first booked a photo shoot with him 2 years ago thanks to a recommendation from a friend. I was looking for someone to capture my proposal to my now wife and he was the perfect photographer for the job. From the initial conversation, planning, offering suggestions, helping arrange the surprise and through the photoshoot Matias was fantastic! He was so helpful and supportive going above and beyond to make the proposal work out without a snag. It was a tall order arranging and meeting to hike through the bamboo forest and up waterfalls while pretending to be a complete stranger and hiding in the bushes out of sight secretly capturing the proposal, but Matias absolutely nailed it. She had no idea he was there and he got all the shots that I hoped for. He got some great images in the water session after as well. He was very easy to work with, gave great direction and was so fun. We had such a good time with him laughing and cracking jokes. Having him capture those moments will be treasured for a lifetime and it helped make a great story too!The second session we booked was on the following trip to Maui a year later. We wanted to do another photo shoot with him, but on the beach and in the ocean this time with a sexier theme to the engagement shoot. We met him at a quiet secluded beach and got right into shooting some fun beach & water shots. We had another amazing time with him and got so many great pictures with a completely different theme and look. Working with Matias is EASY. He makes you feel comfortable, confident and relaxed while making it fun. We had a smile on our face the whole time again.The 3rd session we wanted to get our family together for a photo shoot for some nice family photos on the beach for the first time in many, many years of Maui family vacations. The family loved working with Matias too with the same comments about how fun, comfortable, easy and efficient he was getting all the pictures we wanted as a family and as couples. The photos turned out beautifully and the whole family commented on how he was able to capture how happy everyone was in the photos. We didn't realize really how special these photos would be until this year when my Gramps passed away. These beautiful photos captured the last family trip to Maui with our Gramps. These are now an even more cherished gift for our family and especially my Gramie, his wife of 65 years. My whole family is so thankful to Matias for capturing these priceless photos of everyone together. Flawless job by an amazing person to not only doucument your wedding but a great person to be around. Matias’ energy is contagious yet he is beyond professional. I truly appreciated his knowledge of wedding timelines from his past experiences and that he was very responsive to messages and punctual on the wedding day.I had been following NV Maui Media’s work via Instagram for awhile because I was so fasinated by Matia’s work. After getting engaged, my fiancé suggested Matias which I didn’t realize he knew him! I felt honored that we would get to work with him. The photos from the wedding had us absolutely floored. Even people that couldn’t go to our wedding told me how they felt like they were there once seeing them and that those that were there, felt like they could relive it through his work. The quality and resolution is top notch. Matias’ sense of creativity and vision in what would look spectacular as backdrops and poses (or candids) were great and well directed. Something I appreciated the most is that he took time to make me a full dinner plate (plus carrying 2 cameras while walking up and down on our reception boat) which is definitely not in the job description. A true servant’s heart. Needless to say, I highly recommend NV Maui Media. Wouldn’t have had the best day of my life documented by anyone else. Our pictures are BEAUTIFUL!!!  After researching and looking into several photographers we got referred to Matias by our nanny while on vacation in Hawaii. They were so creative and got awesome shots of our family and captured beautiful moments of our 3 children that I cherish now! Matias is such a wonderful photographer. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease so your photos come out so natural. Matias is simply the best. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to meet him on our first trip to Maui, sought him out for photos on our second trip, and look forward to working with him again in the future. Unlike other surf photographers that just sit on the beach and shoot with a zoom lens, Matias is not afraid to get right there in the water with you. He jokes that the pictures are free if you ever manage to hit him. This hands on style leads to some amazing action shots and some of our favorite candid photos from our adventures. Most importantly, beyond taking great photos, you can tell that he really loves what he does and is just fun to work with. Really great deal!  They took amazing pics of my kids at their surfing lesson with Waves Hawaii.  They just happened to be there and boy was I glad.  It was not expensive and was great.  They were in the water so we got some great shots.  He just emailed me a link to the shots asap which we can download.  The pics are great!
