Micca has been helping me reach my weight lose goal but more importantly she is also teaching me how to eat healthy and that it can be enjoyable. I want to thank Sondra Tackett for guiding me through the maze of nutrition. In the past I thought I was eating correctly, Sondra educated me on what to look out for. Today I each much healthier and really enjoy eating. Like others, meeting Sondra was not by change. I can’t say enough about Dylan and how he has helped me achieve and sustain my fitness goals. I made my first appointment after hitting a plateau of losing body fat. After a consultation, he determined my body was continuing to store fat because I wasn’t eating enough! We slowly increased my calories, and I started shredding fat and gaining lean muscle...unreal. No fad dieting or any of that non-sustainable keto, low-carb informercial folklore...just eating. Dylan is exceedingly knowledgeable and provides so much support by checking in periodically, answering emails, etc. He’s also a genuinely good guy who clearly enjoys what he does. So many people try the next "latest and greatest diets" when what they really need to do is visit a place like Nutrition HealthWorks! I came to see Kelly and took the needed to tests so she could design a plan for my body specifically! And it didn't leave me hungry or feeling like i was "giving up" foods. For those who may have issues with eating or food, I strongly recommend Dylan. Dylan has been extremely patient, considerate, and supportive to me and my family. I cannot say enough good things about Amber! I finally decided to see a Dietitian for the first time after feeling hopeless about my diet and lifestyle. I wanted change, but wasn't sure how to get there. Upon my first meeting with Amber, I was met with such warmth and reassurance that she would help me achieve my health goals. She was able to teach me that it's the small changes over time that matter and that's something that always sticks with me. Before meeting with her, I would start diets, feel overwhelmed and go back to my old habits after a week or two. I want to give a shout out to my Dietitian Kristina who works for Nutrition HealthWorks/Steel Creek office. She had so many good ideas and suggestions for me to try from week to week that really helped me along my journey. I was able to reach my goal of 20 pounds lost before my Vacay this Summer. And what is even better, I have kept it off because I made some real positive changes to my diet and calorie intake. I went to Nutrition HealthWorks after I exhausted seemingly every other means to feel better and develop a healthy relationship with food. When I talked to Dylan, I was immediately at ease. His expertise in listening to his clients and curating a specialized program is unique and transformative. I've experienced chronic abdominal pain for 15 years and have always struggled to find a diet and lifestyle that works with my busy schedule. Dylan has really helped my active 14 year old swimmer/triathlete with his nutrition. When we started with Dylan, my son was under weight, having major gut issues on race day and under performing. We have already seen a difference in performance and recovery and we haven’t even hit the main part of his racing season! With Dylan’s help, my son is now starting to make the connection between training and nutrition and is aware of the quality and quantity of calories he needs to succeed in his races. I knew nutrition was important but couldn’t figure out how to help my son. Dylan listened to my concerns and helped us pull it all together and come up with a plan that worked for my son and his training schedule and was not overwhelming to me as the one who mostly prepares and cooks meals for my family. I have been working with Dylan Lowry on sports nutrition since October 2018. I had been thinking about getting serious about my nutrition for a long time but kept putting it off. I finally made the decision after Nutrition Health Works came to my work and I met Travis and he told me they had a fellow marathoner on staff. I was a little skeptical at first because I thought he would be an occasional runner and not really "understand" the grueling nutritional requirements of a 70+ mile per week athlete. Boy was I wrong, as soon as I met Dylan I knew it was going to be a match made in heaven. Not only does he know a ton about athlete performance and the integral relationship between nutrition and performance, but he is a hardcore runner himself with a 2:30 marathon PR pedigree. He designed an easy to use, easy to follow, easy to maintain program. I never feel hungry, and I'm always fueled for my workouts. If I ever have any questions, Dylan is always there to make tweaks. Since starting with Dylan I have dropped 20lbs and I am fitter than ever. I have dropped 20min off my marathon and ran a 2:50 for 8th place at New Orleans. I went to Dylan Lowry because I had screwed up my metabolism with previous misguided attempts at dieting. Before starting with Dylan I was eating less and less and not losing any weight. Even worse, when I would go off the diet I would gain more weight back, and do it quickly. Then I'd start the cycle all over again. Dylan helped me craft a sensible plan based on nutritional needs, food preferences, exercise and arithmetic. I reached my goal losing just a little each week, but losing it consistently by eating a healthy amount and mix of foods. Throughout the process Dylan was very positive and supportive, encouraging me when I needed it and answering any nutrition questions I'd bring him. During the year of 2017, I encountered lots of changes in my life. My husband and I along with our 2 young kids: sold our home, moved in with my parents, renovated the home we purchased and finally moved in our home at the beginning of December. With all the changes going on in my family I found my body changing for the worse. I would eat mostly fast food or unhealthy foods at all times of the day. If it was quick and easy I was all for it. I have always enjoyed working out, but I began to find myself slacking off in this area too. However, after my family settled in our new home, I realized that I needed and wanted to improve my health and eating habits. I had a strong desire to improve myself and my family. I was tired of feeling sluggish, unhappy in my clothes and not setting good healthy habits for my children to follow.

So, for Christmas present I told my husband that I wanted to go see a nutritionist and learn as much as I could about health and food. He was very supportive in my endeavor and was glad to help me begin my new journey of being healthy.
I searched nutritionist near Denver, NC and came across Nutrition HealthWorks. I called and was quickly placed with Sondra Triplett.

Sondra, was the perfect match to help me accomplish my goals of having a healthy lifestyle. I was very nervous the first time I had to meet with her, but she made me feel very comfortable and at ease within no time. Throughout my journey with Sondra, which was 6 months, she continuously encouraged me to stay on track and obtain my goals. Sondra worked with me each week to reach obtainable goals which was very encouraging to me. I have tried many "diets" and of course none of them lasted. I quickly learned that Sondra was providing me with knowledge on how to make a "life style" change.

My favorite opportunity Sondra provided me with was going on a grocery store tour. She met me at the grocery store I shop at and walked me through each section and explained what and why foods were healthy. I actually learned how to read food labels which was so exciting for me. It was like a light bulb finally went off in my head. Sondra, also provided me with wonderful recipes, websites and great ideas to get my children involved in the kitchen. She also taught me how to meal plan and prep which has been a huge life saver for my busy family.

As the weeks passed, I began to feel more confident about myself and how I was teaching my children the importance of being healthy. By the end of my session with Sondra I was down 15lbs and had so much more confidence as a wife and mom. When I ask my kids why we eat healthy they always say: Fuel your body Fuel your mind. This is so true. Being healthy is so much more than a number on a scale. You feel better about yourself, able to think better, move your body better and just be a more joyful person to be around.

She is amazing and can help you accomplish wonderful things. To be honest, I was sad when my time with Sondra came to an end. Yes, she was my nutritionist, but she had also become a good friend. After graduating college and not being involved in competitive team sports anymore, I gained a little weight. I tried for a year or two to lose the extra 10-15 pounds on my own - listening to apps such as My Fitness Pal or the newest thing I found on an internet search. I was getting very discouraged when I did not see any change and even had another professional tell me that maybe this is "my new normal." I knew that was not true. Finally I found out about Nutrition HealthWorks and started to see Sarah. Sarah spent a while listening to my struggles and educated me on what my body needs. While I thought I was eating "healthy" for a while, I found out that other plans I found were actually having me under eat based on my metabolism and activity level, which was why I could not lose the weight on my own. What I loved about Sarah and her plan is that I never felt restricted or that I was "on a diet." She never said "don't eat this or don't eat that." With Sarah, it is more about discovering a healthy lifestyle balance and a healthy relationship with food. I originally set up an appointment with Travis because I wanted to get in shape for my wedding and honeymoon, but I didn't stop going after getting married. Travis was very accommodating of my vegan diet, and wrote a meal plan that worked for me and my schedule. Over the last 9 months or so, I have learned a lot about nutrition and how to fuel my body effectively. My wife and I have been attending sessions with Travis for several months. In addition to losing weight, we have truly enjoyed meeting with him to discuss our nutritional strategies and challenges. I worked with Travis for the past year and it's been great! He wrote a plan for me, met with me weekly to discuss my ups ands downs and answered any questions I had. I went in and had a metabolic test done which took about 10 minutes, all you really have to do is sit there and breath. From there my coach was able to determine by my height weight and bone density (just measures your wrist) how many calories I burn in a day. Then he asked about my diet and other lifestyle factors and from that he was able to produce a customized meal plan which uses an exchange - really great because I can pick my own meals each day.
