Super impressed by the quality of instruction, management of the club, and the community of fencers at Nova.  I was a little nervous about finding a club upon moving to DC, but I clearly picked the right one.  Coach Greg and his staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the sport--and it shows through every interaction with every fencer.  I would highly recommend getting involved with this fencing community, whether you're new to the sport or have been in it for a while. Amazing staff, great classes for kids/beginners through national competition level, and most of all it's a joy to come every time and you are always treated like family.

Nova Fencing Club is a wonderful gym and the coaches care about the students. They know how to motivate and inspire their students to be a better athlete and person. My 12 year old loves taking classes here and he has been going here for 3 years. More...

Was worried about finding a new club when I moved to DC from NJ, but I found my new fencing home at Nova. The facility is top notch and there are always plenty of fencers there on any given night for open bouting. Highly recommend!

NOVA is a great place to be; a serious-but-friendly all-ages Fencing Club. From beginners to veterans, everyone is welcomed and challenged. Conditioning (catered to fencing) is also offered in case you don't like to do that on your own! Coach Greg and Coach Jeff really make it fun. More...

The Nova Fencing Club is the best place to learn fencing in Northern Virginia, hands down. Coach Greg is so supportive and encouraging: my kids are really learning the sport and having fun while they do it. The priorities are safety, good sportsmanship and team spirit - whether you are a serious competitor or fence for fun. As a parent I really value that. I have been so impressed, I have joined the adult beginner class. I love it: it is super-fun, very aerobic and I am so amazed that I am actually fencing! Highly recommend! More...

The new space for the Fencers Club is wonderful! The staff is extremely experienced. This is a great place to start fencing and to grow into the sport. We have been involved with three different clubs - this one is far and away the best. Attention is paid to each individual participant. Greg knows what he is doing and really builds confidence in his athletes. Definitely a place to go to for fencing enthusiasts. More...

My son participated in the Club's summer camp and really enjoyed the experience.  Great program!

This club has single-handedly (no pun intended:) convinced me to stay in Virginia! With no previous experience in this sport of fencing, I have been trained by an excellent coach, Greg K. , to become a good amateur challenger for some of the seasoned fencers of the club. While competition is a great learning experience and the private lessons are very detailed, this club is ALSO about friends and establishing lifelong relationships. What more could you ask for? For me, the past year of fencing with this group has been very rewarding and fun! More...

WOW!  This new club is wonderful!  The individual attention the coach gives each fencer is something I have not found at other clubs.  Classes bring camaraderie between the fencers.  There is a team spirit going into tournaments - for a sport focused on individual success, it is hard to find a team spirit - but Coach Greg has done it!  His encouragement of each fencer is tremendous.  I would highly recommend this club to others - and have! The Fencer's Club is a great place to fence whether you are a beginner or are experienced. The club atmosphere is fun, supportive, and friendly. Coach Greg is a fantastic instructor and has helped me improve tremendously in all aspects of the sport of fencing including: technique, tactics, strategy, and competition mindset.

I highly recommend giving The Fencer's Club a try. You will get fantastic exercise for your body and mind, accomplish things you never thought you could do, and have lots of FUN!

We have tried every kids fencing program in or near Arlington and The Fencer's Club is by far the best club in the area. Coach Greg has been teaching my kids (ages 16 and 12) for two years and they have improved amazingly as fencers and competitors under his program. Greg sets strong goals for the kids whether they are experienced or beginners and everybody improves at their own pace. He challenges the kids who are ready, encourages the kids who are building their skills and confidence, and nurtures everybody. Greg has a great sense of humor and the kids have a lot of fun during warm-ups, drills and fencing games (and it's very entertaining for the parents who stay to watch!). There is no pressure to compete -- many kids fence with the club just for fun and exercise. If your child does become interested in tournaments, Greg is the ideal coach: he has tons of experience carefully training kids for competition with great results - not only objectively but also personal bests. Highly recommend! More...

My sons, ages 6 and 10, are taking Intro to Fencing as an after school program and they absolutely love it. They come out of each class excited to share what they've learned. I've met the instructors and they are neat, polite and have a good rapport with the kids.

I am the enrichment coordinator at my sons' school and I get to choose which companies we'd like to have provide classes to our students. I have invited The Fencer's Club back because I feel they represent exactly what I am looking for in an after school program. My boys will most definitely be signing up for the next session!

I have been training fencing for a number of years, at many clubs, and the Fencers Club is where I call home.  Coach Greg and I have a long history and his knowledge in the sport is second to none.  He has trained some of the best fencers around the world and that quickly becomes apparent in his teaching style.  I would highly recommend taking classes at the Fencers Club its a great sport for the whole family. I took beginning adult fencing lessons this summer as part of a program through my work. I had always wanted to try fencing because, well because who doesn't want to sword fight! ? Sounds neat right? I guess I didn't realize that the whole point of fencing is to stab your opponent, BUT in a totally safe way of course. They suit you up in a straight jacket type outfit, gloves and a mask. Plus it's not really a sword, but a rubber tipped foil. The instructor was great, very friendly and a former olympian. It turns out though that sword fighting isn't actually my cup of tea. However it was a really neat experience.  I recommend trying out the fencer's club if you've always fancied learning how to fence. More...
