I was absolutely terrified by even the thought of having a first dance at our wedding with 100+ people watching. My fiance and I met with Anna to explain our fears, utter lack of dancing skills, and ask her to keep us from embarrassing ourselves. Anna was super amazing and made us feel very comfortable right away. She had also listened to our first dance song before that first meeting and chose the type of dance (rumba). We ended up having 10 lessons total, with the first ~5 spent learning basic steps and the next ~5 putting everything together into a choreographed dance. My husband and I had our wedding danced choreographed by Anna. She is a great instructor that made the process easy and fun. I had a little dance background while my husband did not. Our first dance was a mix of two different dance styles. Anna blended the two different dance styles so well! Her teaching process made sure we learned the steps before the dance itself. I thought it was helpful that she tailored our dance to my wedding gown. I informed her of the style and showed her a picture from the beginning. My 12 year son and I have been taking private dance lessons with Aleksander for almost 5 months and are so thrilled with the experience. We are preparing for a very special event and wanted to surprise our guests with a personal and memorable dance from the two of us. Aleksander is patient, talented and professional! I started taking private dance lessons with Olga a year and a half ago. I am surprised that I have kept dancing this whole time, instead of giving up like I usually did in the past. I credit this to Olga’s excellent dance instruction. I’ve learnt a lot great techniques from her, which has strengthened my interest in dancing. I enjoy her lessons in many reasons. First of all, she is a professional international dancer. She has been dancing for more than 25 years and she competed in Black Pool six times and she was invited to the U.S. as a professional dancer as well. Secondly, I love her elegant dancing style. Practicing techniques can be very boring, but I really enjoy it with Olga. She is always patient with me and she has brought out the best in me. She has helped me develop invaluable habits that have enriched my life. Olga is a very sweet and patient instructor who is willing to schedule our lessons around my crazy busy schedule. I have been taking private lessons with Olga for a while, and I am so grateful to have her as my first dance teacher. We had such fun learning to dance with Anna! We went to brush up for our son’s Wedding. My husband was a bit skeptical but Anna put him at ease right away and he truly enjoyed it. My husband and I started taking lessons here as an alternative to the usual "Dinner and a Movie" date night. We are hooked! Our lessons with Viktoriya are challenging, yet fun. What an amazing teacher she is! Neither my husband nor I had any experience, but, after a couple of months with Viktoriya's teaching, we are able to hold our own on the dance floor! Even if we are stressed when we arrive, it only takes a couple of minutes before we are smiling and enjoying ourselves. We have taken some of the group classes too, and they are wonderful. Olga is a fantastic dance teacher, and one of the best people I have ever been blessed to be around. She has great energy, and I have enjoyed private lessons with her, and especially her group "ballroom body" classes, which are a very unique and creative invention of hers. They are very fun!! I think for many people, there is a great need to learn how to move and use the body in different ways that go beyond just learning dance steps, in order to make dancing graceful and fluid. Empowering lives through DanceI’ve thought about that line at the top of Anna’s page many times as she has enthusiastically corrected my attempts at dancing. It has been a life long desire for me to learn to dance, and I think I can say with some confidence that I have achieved toddler status. That is not to mock what Anna has accomplished, because thanks to her excellent teaching, I have accomplished a couple of things in addition to the basics. I had the joy of a choreographed dance with my daughter at her wedding, and I was able to go onto the dance floor after the ceremony and have a great time. In addition to that Anna challenged me to learn a choreographed dance routine that she created for a regional showcase. Over the past three months, I have had the pleasure of taking group classes and private lessons with Peter Minkov and Aleksandar Bonev, professional ballroom teachers and competitive dancers. I prefer to refer to Peter and Aleksandar as teachers instead of instructors because they offer more than instruction. They teach me technique in addition to the steps and help me grow as a dancer. They also challenge my skills and help me push myself to get better at the art of dance.Working with Peter and Aleks, it is difficult to remain an occasional social dancer. My fiancée and I loved Anna as our dance teacher. We would definitely recommend her to anyone who is trying to learn how to ballroom dance for fun or for their wedding. We took a class on ballroom dancing five years ago when we were freshman in college. We had not taken a dance lesson since then so we pretty much forgot everything. Anna was extremely patient with us and broke down the dance steps so it was easy for us to learn. She took our first dance song which was Still Fallin’ by Hunter Hayes and turned it into a beautiful first dance for us. Anna is such a wonderful dance instructor, very patient, with a great, bubbly sense of humor and personality, and confidently convinces anyone/everyone THEY CAN DANCE. My fiancé and I decided that we wanted to learn how to dance for our wedding, so we weren’t just doing the basic swaying to our first dance. We found Anna, and within weeks we were feeling more confident in ourselves! We don’t have time to practice much, but we seemed to improve quite a bit without it…imagine how well we would do with practice! We think Anna is a great instructor, and she does fabulously with both the female and male parts of all the dance styles. She is also very personable. She jokes with us, and chats…finds out what we are doing with our lives outside of our sessions. Now that we are past the introductory classes, we are starting to get into more aspects of dance and we can focus on the styles we love, which are the Rumba, Waltz, Fox Trot, and Swing. I am sure once we finish our lessons, we will be incredibly confident in our dancing abilities. It has helped us learn more about one another and it’s a very enjoyable activity that we both love for different reasons. Its fun, relaxing, and a great way to stay active. I have been taking lessons at North Shore Dance Society with Alexs for about a year now. When I started I had a fairly specific goal, to learn the Argentinian Tango. While I continue to learn and evolve my tango I am also enjoying learning other dance styles and rekindling my love of dance along the way. Alexs is an excellent teacher. He is very knowledgeable and knows all the technical aspects of several styles and types of dance. He is patient and thorough, not only teaching the basic steps but also taking the time to help develop technique and style.
