Jaime has dj'd at a couple of events I've been to through the year. He's great! He puts a lot of thought into what he plays and really gets the place rocking. He can bust some moves himself as well! More...

Matt did a fantastic job at mine and Lucy's wedding at Alnwick Gardens on 15 July. He kept a packed dance floor all night, mixed the songs really well and nailed it completely. Great job, thank you

Jamie DJ'd our daughter's 21st last week at Crook Hall in Durham. He was fantastic, just what she wanted (ie really cool not cheesy) - great mixes, the dance floor was always full, plus his lights made a magical venue even more amazing. He also went beyond the call of duty in sorting out a sound problem on our i-movie so we could show it on the 55" screen he brought along. So glad we found him as he made - and saved - the night. We hired Jamie (North East DJ) for our wedding at Eshott Hall on the 28th December, 2013. I always think it's a bit of a risk hiring a DJ who you haven't heard before as you can't really know what they're like and we've all had experiences of bad DJs; ones who cannot read the crowd, ones who make the night more about themselves by playing only what they want to and, for me, the absolute worst, those who refuse to dispense with the dreaded DJ 'patter'.From the very first Email correspondence with Jamie I immediately felt comfortable with our decision - i told him what we were after and he was certainly accommodating. We met a few days before the wedding to discuss specifics (a really nice touch) and it was obvious that he was a professional; even though i could only provide a few 'ideas' about the music we wanted, he immediately understood the type of set we were after. As for the day itself, we couldn't have been happier. Jamie arrived and set up without any fuss and the set he played was SPOT ON. He played songs at the right times to generate a fantastic atmosphere (the lighting, although understated which we requested, really helped with this), and varied the set so everyone was happy (difficult with such a varied range of ages). He played the (few) songs we requested without fuss and perfectly gauged the mood throughout, even accommodating a few requests. In summary, i have no hesitation recommending North East DJ. It was the perfect addition to a fantastic day and many of our guests commented on how good the DJ was. Thanks again Jamie - top stuff! More...

Q&As

I would say 3 things are key
1) Tailor everything to what your audience want, adapt and change what you do to match their needs. It's not about you it's about your clients.
2) Keep the tempo and atmosphere 'buzzing'. Play songs that most people will relate to and will want to dance to. Up beat and popular is the key.
3) Enjoy yourself. Enthusiasm rubs off on those around you.

It depends on if you mean musically or personally? My personal style (and that of all our DJs) is up to date and adaptable to the event i'm performing at. We wouldn't dress the same for a wedding as we would for an all night dance event in a field. Musically style changes depending on what the client wants. We have a range of DJs with specialisms in different musical areas and we make sure the right DJ is performing for you.

I love the adrenalin rush of performing for a live crowd, mixing live (no automix or computer presets) and just creating an atmosphere where people are having a blast.

I started North East DJ because of the way the Dj industry was changing. As a professional DJ I found there to be a massive gap in the market. You had some great live Djs performing in night clubs, bars and at festivals and events but the mobile market seemed to be full of cheesy mobile discos with over the top spinning pattern lights, laptop only mixing and poor sound systems, it just seemed naff. The aim was always to bring the live DJ experience to the mobile market by providing live pro DJs who would bring their skills to your wedding, birthday, company do or event, using top end mixing gear, great quality sound systems and concert style lighting.

Because we pride ourselves on excellence. Excellence in mixing, excellence in performance, excellence in meeting our clients needs and wants. North East DJ is founded on the principals of providing the highest standard with the best professionals to make your event a legendary one.
