As a homeowner we are always thrilled to be able to offer the north captiva island club amenities that The Little Oasis Beach Cottage comes with to all of our guests. The club is the social gathering spot on island and we are very proud to say our beach cottage comes with the private amenities. Our guests enjoy north captiva island club being 1 minute from the little oasis beach cottage and of course the awesome restaurant Mangos's and The Boathouse as well being 1 minute away. North captiva island club is on an island and everyone is on island time naturally relaxed and providing friendly service and thats what we expected. I feel one cant come here expecting rushed service becauae then you wouldnt be on an island vacation. Great suggestion from the owner of the little oasis beach cottage to visit mangos bar and grill! Maureen granted us club privileges and mentioned we needed to take a dip in the heated pools and we actually enjoyed a drink right from the second smaller pool. We ordered a drink from the pool bar window and my boys were still enjoying the pool area. Fantastic service bartenders were magnificent service was right on point as well. High end hot tub and spa and just such a nice social gathering place too! Family oriented crowd very pleasant . Yvena was terrific directing us to the amenities . Yes 18 percent is included but doesn't one normally tip 18 percent for good service anyways In some islands folks is 20 percent added on. The slower pace was so refreshing coming from a big city . Overall 5 stars hands down More...

Great spot for a quick lunch or a refreshing drink. The food was fresh, hot and good sized portions. The drinks were well nice and strong. The only issue is the 18% gratuities that are automatically added on. I understand why this would be so and there are signs around letting one know. There was still some sticker shock when settling up the tab. More...

We just returned from a week in Sunset Beach House #44. We came as a couple ten years ago before we had kids and finally brought our kids. North Captiva Island is one of those places you just can't imagine how great it is until you experience it yourself: the sandy lanes lined in tropical foliage, the wildlife (tortoises, manatees, shore birds, etc.,) and the beautiful turquoise water are like no other place. It is a true paradise. We loved the house and its amazing proximity to the water. You can easily throw a coconut into the water from the deck....we know...we tried it! The house needs a good remodel and hopefully the owners will tackle that before too much longer. It reminds me of a grandmother's house: old but still standing, nothing fancy but cute enough, clean but not so much you don't feel like you can put your feet up, has everything you need as long as you're not high maintenance, and is a place to relax and focus on what really matters. We loved fishing and picking up seashells in the morning, swimming at the pools, riding the golf cart sandy lanes, and we either cooked or went out for dinner. We ate at The Boathouse which was fantastic: fresh and delicious, Over the Waterfront which was yummy too but very hot inside, and had take out from Mangos on our last night. Their pork quesadillas and chicken nachos still have me salivating for more! The grocery process at the closest Publix is a bit overrated if you ask us. Having small children we are more Walmart people since we need larger quantities and things like Pull ups. We feel like a family could easily get their groceries and other goods at Walmart since it is a one stop shop and boat pack them themselves. Just buy a couple of styrofoam coolers and silver cold bags and a bag of ice. Use packing tape to secure it all. Have the groceries bagged in paper and then plastic and there you have it! We will try this next time. The only downside of our trip was the resort's ferry service coming onto the island. It was a hot July afternoon and they had alot of people to service so they packed us on an extremely hot bus and drove to the dock and had us wait on the again- EXTREMELY- hot ferry for atleast 20-30 minutes while they went and picked up more people to load on the ferry which was full enough already. Then we waited for several hours before our luggage/groceries/ etc. were brought and some produce items had soured. They were trying to serve too many people at one time. The return ferry service through them was excellent though. It helped that there were fewer people and it was early in the morning before the heat hit. Overall it was an amazingly soul replenishing, family memory making, reconnecting trip!!!! More...

We had a great girls trip to North Captiva Island. Staying at the Blue Mango was a great place to rest, relax, enjoy the ocean, and swim at the private pool at the Blue Mango, as well as at the North Captiva Island Club Resort. Our first evening on North Captiva Island, I found eight beautiful perfect sand dollars. My girlfriends also found several along with many other beautiful shells. The wildlife is amazing! We saw an Osprey feeding her babies fish and lizards, and it was awesome to witness. Also, a mama and baby manatee swimming together in the bay, dolphins, and even cute island turtles. ||||The service from Duncan and Ally was awesome. They took great care of us and were happy to do so. A big shout out to Dalton with Boats and Fun that took us bay fishing and made sure these city girls caught lots of fish, such as red fish, grouper, trout, and snook. Also, Captain Mike took us on a beautiful sunset cruise and over to Cabbage Key for drinks and dessert. It was a perfect evening watching the sunset, and we highly recommend that you take this excursion. We also recommend the super fun Tiki bar, Mango’s, and order delicious fish tacos, crab cakes and our personal favorite cocktail, On the Water with a rum floater! YUM!! We had GREAT steak at The Boathouse so a stop here is a must!||||The Blue Mango was a perfect place to stay - just a few feet from the beach, and a short golf cart ride to the great restaurants on the island. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, has a private pool, an outdoor shower, and the perfect porch for giggles and relaxing. The bright colored decor definitely adds to the beachy feel of this lovely home. The rooftop deck is a great place to gaze at the stars or sunbathe on a warm day. The grill worked great, and we whipped up some fabulous shrimp for dinner. The owners of this great vacation home have thought of everything that you could possibly need to make your stay on North Captiva Island special. We would highly recommend staying at the Blue Mango on your next vacation! More...

We stayed at North Captiva the week before Easter. Our family had adults, teenagers, and little children. There was something for everyone. We normally vacation at resorts with water parks, rides, attractions, etc. North Captiva was a welcome change. Very relaxed! We cooked our own meals, spent time as a family, spent time alone. Our biggest decision was which beach to go to! The kids loved riding in the golf cart. The club's heated pools were fantastic, though the club's hot tub wasn't hot and the jets didn't work. Our house was huge and clean. There were birds, turtles, crabs, and other wildlife all over the place. I've never seen so many shells on the beach in my life!||The ferry service was top-notch, and the crew that managed the luggage was friendly, quick, and fantastic.||Take bottled water to drink because the tap water smells like sulfur. Our whole house would smell like sulfur if someone showered inside.||My complaint was that all of the stores and restaurants closed before dinner on Good Friday with no notice. You just can't do that when folks are stuck there. It was the end of our trip, so we were out of food and drinks. The pool bar was open, but wasn't serving food. Luckily I scraped together some random food we still had, but it wasn't the fun last family dinner that we wanted to have, and I don't think anyone was really satisfied with it. When guests can't physically leave, you either need to make sure guests know that you are closing, or leave something open! More...
