Christmas works party in The Dorset Suite ... very good. The staff were very efficient and the food was really great ... it came to the table in good time and was hot and delicious! All 3 courses were plentiful and tasty. They perfected, what must be quite a challenge when catering for 100s, with ease. Thanks to all! More...

The hotel itself is beautiful and grand and the location is superb for shops and Christmas tree wonderland. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and very well equipped. However there was a Xmas party which we were not informed of when booking which went on to 2am, fair enough but with a child on first floor with party music underneath not ideal. My husband complained the assistant manager on shift (a young man in the evening 14/12) was very unhelpful. However lady manager and all other staff very understanding and helpful so thankyou for that More...

What a difference. We visited as a couple 6 weeks ago and where not impressed by a number of issues. ||||I am happy to say this weekend was a success, the rooms were pleasant, large enough for 2 adults and 3 children. The staff upgraded us which was a lovely thought and added another bed to our room without fuss. House keeping where very helpful and couldn't do enough when we asked for a few bits.. lovely lady.||||The hotel was lovely and warm, we had to open our windows for some fresh air. The hotel is oldly and worldly but we really liked the quirkiness. Children lived exploring. Could do with updating her and there...||||The pool was clean and tidy but the floor a little slippery in places. The jacuzzi was really warm.. ||||Breakfast is hectic,if we stay again I would definitely find out the quieter times. Staff really tried to be helpfull.||||Thank you More...

Myself and 3 friends met for a Champagne Afternoon Tea and used Groupon. It was amazing value for money! Great friendly service, we had obviously booked, and upon arrival we were awaited and shown to our lovely seats in a very seasonal decorated lounge. ...very relaxing and luxurious. We had a really lovely afternoon tea, with very fresh sandwiches and warm scones with clotted cream and jam and a generous selection of cakes! Very impressed and would recommend. More...

A really good afternoon tea with a glass of champagne. We had a Groupon offer. Champagne first happy for us to have this before the tea. Good selection of sandwiches and cakes, a lovely scone with lots of jam and cream. Happy to give extra pots of fresh tea. Great service. Have to say this was a much much better experience than we recently had a 5* hotel near New Milton at 3 times the price and no champagne. Well recommended. More...

Came down to this hotel for a family visit and the location is excellent. extremely close to the food mall with lots of options on all kinds of restaurants. ||Xmas market was about 400 yards from the hotel and you walk through lovely xmas gardens towards the beach. Everything is lit up in Xmas lights and very festive. ||Beach and pier is about a 10 minute walk also,||||Had a family room:||The hotel bedroom was good, bunk beds for 2 children and then two large singles pushed together to make a massive queen size bed..||||the breakfast was ok but fairly average.||lovely fire place in the main lobby and bar area is fine.||||the slight downside was the swimming pool area. ||I chose the hotel based on the pool for the children.||The pool itself was lovely and warm as is the jacuzzi.||However, with a single glass conservatory covering the pool, you are basically in outside temperatures. We went last week mid November and its impossible to come out of the pool and sit and relax in your swim gear, you will freeze to death.||The heat from the pool hitting the ice cold glass creates indoor rain and you practically get rained on with condensation.||I witness an elderly lady come in and slip over into the glass, the whole outside tiles around the pool are a death trap.||this will be fine in the summer but a nightmare in the winter.||Please invest in this part of the hotel, it really should be better.||||Finally, they have a private underground car park and its £15 per day.||I can't believe that if you are a paying guest, why you'd be charged to stay there.||Yes its in the middle of town, but come on guys, really!!||Overall a good stay but the not so good elements above would make me think twice about staying again. Well maintained. Clean and tidy, our room was beautifully decorated and spacious, modernised but in keeping with the feel and style of the hotel. ||Our request for a top floor, quiet room was accommodated.||The staff were lovely and we liked the fact that some service was available 24 hours a day. The barman and the waitress were both really helpful.||The hotel itself was beautiful with lots of nooks and crannies for relaxing.||The location for the town centre was great.||||Unfortunately we couldn’t have dinner there because we were going to a show and the restaurant didn’t open until 6.30pm, but the menu looked really nice; my husband had sandwiches which were incredible and I had a lovely cream tea - two massive scones.||My only (slight) criticism would be about the breakfast. Overall it was no better or worse than anywhere else but my husband said the bacon was underdone; the serving implements were muddled up so as a vegetarian I couldn’t tell if the tongs I was using for my mushrooms had just picked up someone else’s sausages, and it would have been nice to have had some fresh fruit (we know they have it because we had some in our cocktails last night!)||||The parking was expensive which surprised us as we are guests of the hotel and would expect that to be included or at least subsidised - but seemed to be on par for most hotels in the area.||||But overall really happy with our stay and would definitely come back. Great Birthday Weekend Spent a lovely weekend at The Royal Norfolk in September for my 50th Birthday. Had 4 rooms, one which was booked last minute & even though they was really busy managed to fit them in. Rooms were clean, comfortable & inviting with fully stocked mini bars The pool was fantastic & garden beautiful , the weather was great so spent a lot of time out there. We booked an afternoon tea & pamper through the hotel, the treatments with Westover Spa were amazing, so relaxing & the afternoon tea was fantastic, very tasty & plentiful, warm scones were melt in the mouth. We had a lovely singer on Saturday evening, who got everyone singing along & the bar staff were very attentive & helpful. The breakfasts were lovely, not rushed & again plentiful. We stayed for the Sunday Roast before heading home, which was so scrummy will definitely be going there again for lunch. Attending a charity event we need accommodation and decided to make a weekend of it. I initially made an error in the booking rang the hotel direct and said I would rather stay in the executive room 2 nights and not move rooms and was this possible as the booking app was saying they were fully booked. The woman that I spoke to was polite kind and efficient and arranged this for me. I later learned she was a manager. Very good service I was in a good mood straight away. We parked in the underground car park. I don’t recommend this is you have a problem with stairs I would get dropped off at the front then whoever is driving can take the car to the car park good rate for safe gated car parking. The hotel needs a little attention but all in all still good condition. Room was lovely bathroom was ok bath and shower which is always good. We didn’t eat in the hotel for breakfast which we will do as I would stay here again. The staff were willing and attentive and the reception staff very good which is always very important. The porter was very accommodating even though taking our bags back to the car end of stay must have been hard work they were very heavy! Well done team see you again. More...

Didn't stay for long but they had a great singer in the lobby for Saturday night entertainment. Walking distance to most Bournemouth attractions. The breakfast spread could be better but for £6, it's decent. £16 to park your car feels a bit steep. The hotel was strangely easy to get back into at 3am, it could do with some form of security.Overall, I'd definitely stay again! More...

Stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. We walked from the train station, but somehow got turned around. The locals didn’t recognize the hotel when I asked about the Best Western on Richmond Hill, so if asking for directions, refer to it as the Norfolk Royale. It took us about 30 minutes to walk from the train station, but like I say, we sort of got turned around. We finally just stumbled upon it after taking a side street. We had prepaid for 1 night stay and used BW points for a second night. We were originally going to have to change rooms, but they called us shortly after check in to say we could remain in the room we were in. Our room was lovely and well appointed. It was a good size (compared to what we had stayed in London just prior). We were on the second floor and it was a tad noisy in the evening, but quieted down by midnight so didn’t disturb our sleep. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with a nice big tub. The hotel was very close to lots of restaurants and bars as well as all the shopping and sights. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but we did get ice from the bar to take up to our room. They were great about giving us an ice bucket or a pitcher. There is also a swimming pool onsite but not sure if it is free to use or not. We did ask for a wake up call for the morning we were leaving, but fortunately we had a backup alarm, because the wake up call never came. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay in a lovely old property that has been lovingly maintained. More...
