My first appointment with Maria was approximately 18 months ago when I had suffered years of pain and discomfort with my lower back and sciatica. I had been going around in circles with the NHS and began to think it was something I just had to put up with. I decided to give Osteopathy a try and it was the best decision I could have made. Maria understood immediately the cause of my pain and started the treatment that I needed. I also follow all the exercises daily and took her advice about things to avoid. It didn’t take long to become active again and have the confidence to walk and swim longer distances. I have just completed the Thames Marathon 14km swim. I’ve just had my first session with Emma and after a thorough assessment and initial treatment I can already feel the benefitss. I was looking for an Osteopath Clinic in Newbury and Emma was highly recommended to me. My son is 15 and he has had ongoing back pain and knee pain which we assumed was associated with growing but I wanted to make sure there was nothing more sinister going on, and find him some exercises to help him. Emma was fantastic with him, very caring and explained everything she was going to do and ensured he felt comfortable before doing any adjustments. She explained his conditions using diagrams which made it much easier to understand, and then sent us our exercises with really easy to understand diagrams as well. After suffering months of pain and discomfort with an impinged shoulder, and having made little progress with physio therapy, I decided to visit Emma for Osteopathy treatment. I started seeing Emma after seeing her advert online. I have had back pain for nearly 10years and decided I needed help. Emma performed an assessment and came up with a treatment plan which involved sessions with her and carrying out exercises at home. I saw her weekly initially and then fortnightly and the change in my back is incredible. I now get almost no pain and find carrying out my daily job so much easier. I started out seeing Maria for my shoulders and back, I am hyper-mobile and so have a tendency to overstretch and cause myself injury, she really made a difference. Maria taught me how to stretch safely and which stretches I should focus on. Through massage and careful bespoke manipulation her work made a world of difference! After having given birth late last year I was experiencing a lot of lower back pain. I then saw Danielle who was able to tell me what was wrong very quickly and relieve the pain almost instantly. Having suffered with back & neck pain for years (and seeing countless health professionals) I have now had only four sessions with Emma at Newbury and my upper back and neck feel years younger. I can bend forward with less pain, I can move my head around so much more than just weeks ago, my hips feel more mobile, extraordinary results in such a short space of time! Maria first treated me when I was suffering with backache in pregnancy. She has since seen me through a second pregnancy and recovery as well as tackling a decade-old injury from a car accident - something I'd just learned to live with. I had been suffering with a very sore arm, tennis elbow, for absolutely ages and at times it was unbareable. So much so I was taking strong painkillers on a daily basis which isn't good.
