Ashley was wonderful to work with! She took our engagement photos and our wedding photos. I found her by looking at a lot of different photographers, and her portfolio stood out because she had normal looking people, who she knew how to photograph to look amazing! So many others just feature models, and I'm no model and pretty uncomfortable in front of a camera. But she does an excellent job of helping people feel comfortable in their skin, and highlighting your best qualities! Her rates were really reasonable, she was very professional and fun too! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I strive to make my clients feel comfortable in front of the camera. I want them to feel like we're friends meeting again and having some laughs. Somewhere in there they forget that we're making magical photos together. This is when the shift happens. This is the secret.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are some styles you gravitate towards? Do you have a Pinterest board of your dream wedding or photo session? What can I do to make this experience special for you?
What do you love most about your job?
Connecting with people! I love meeting new folks and hearing their stories. I also love when the shift happens and you can tell that they've let their guard down. This is when the amazing photos start to happen.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've wanted to be a photographer since middle school. My first digital camera took floppy disks. After traveling around the world and the country, I knew that New Orleans was home for me, I also knew that I was ready to jump in and start my own photography business.
