A few weeks ago we moved into our new bungalow to find we required a replacement boiler. We were recommended Nicholson’s by our new next door neighbour. John Nicholson attended our home, surveyed the heating system and we discussed our requirements. He was thorough, very informative and we had full confidence in him. John answered all our questions. We received a comprehensive quotation giving various options of both boilers and level of service in order for us to make an informed decision.We opted for the Vaillant EcoTEC Exclusive Green iQ, 35W Combi Boiler on a Gold Package. A week later the boiler was installed over two days. The engineers were punctual, polite and worked hard over the two days of installation. We were kept regularly informed of what they were doing and cleaned up as they went. Johnny’s worked particularly efficiently and carried out a neat job of the new pipe work in the utility room. He had a good working relationship with the apprentices and was focussed and diligent in his approach. The boiler is working totally to our satisfaction and we are confident of receiving prompt and efficient level of service in the maintenance plan we have taken out. Contacted Nicholson Heating Services needing a replacement boiler, John Nicholson attended the next day. We had a very informative discussion about the pros and cons of a combi boiler system against my old open vent system. I can honestly say this is the best company I've ever used in any field, they are flawless in every way, they now have a customer for life. Fantastic family company to work with. We got a visit from John wvery quickly, he discussed our requirements and made some recommendations. Impressed that he suggested Silver rather than Gold package. The fitters came a few days later and were great. They explained what they were going to do, put down lots of dust sheets and tore into the job. At each stage they explained what was happening and they were extremely tidy. Just had a replacement bunded oil tank installed. The quote and advice from Ian at Nicholson Heating Services Ltd, a large company who have been around a long time, were good. Access to the back garden is difficult but plenty strong men carried it down a narrow side path. Oil had to be drained, stored and then pumped into the new tank. A few weeks ago our boiler broke down and I decided to do some research for local reputable installers as we were not wanting to have a second rate renewal in the depths of the cold weather. I found Nicholson Heating Services 5 star rated online by other customers and we are delighted that, upon reading the reviews of others, we asked them to undertake our new full premium heating system installation. Initially they arrived quickly to see if anything could be resurrected from the old system but when we found a fault that lay beyond the boiler, we decided that it would be false economy and it was better to have a brand new full system installed, rather than run into the same problems we had currently experienced later on down the line with a brand new boiler. Later that day the house was measured up for new radiators.Due to their help and re-organisation of their following week's works schedule, they advised that they would be there first thing, starting the new full refit on the Monday morning. They arrived on time each day with a team of engineers who uninstalled the old system running through the house (boiler, old radiators and underfloor pipes) and refitted it with Stelrad Softline Radiators, with IMI thermostatic radiator valves, a Vaillant UK EcoTEC Plus 832 combi boiler (which comes with a spirotech boiler protection pack and a ten year parts and labour guarantee as Nicholson's are Advance Plus installers),a shock arrestor and lime reducer filter, an A rated wilo pump, an IMI low loss header with dirt and air separation preventing corrosion, an extra expansion vessel and a 5 year parts and labour warranty on the full heating system including valves etc.The engineers were punctual, polite and worked tirelessly to help get the heating back on throughout the house. They barely lifted their heads throughout the refit and double checked everything through with my husband and I and explained the plan for the next day at the end of each shift. They also cleaned each room up behind them each night and made sure each floor was put back in place with carpets put back down so each evening was not hindered by exposed floor boards or pipes. We also took advantage of their offer of a 5 year maintenance package including boiler service each year.As the 5 star rating above reflects, we have no hesitation in recommending Nicholson Heating Services and am really grateful for those who have reviewed them online before us or we would never have stumbled upon them. Just had a new boiler installed, from the very start the process was very easy. Nicholson's come out to house give me a quote, then in just over a week come out and installed it. The job was very clean and tidy, the lads kept hovering as they went. We are very happy with all aspects of the work. They even matched the replacement bricks where the old boiler was. Everything was done with such care and it never seemed rushed. The lads don't leave the house until you are totally satisfied. I have also received follow up phone calls. I could not recomend enough. From start to finish the service was amazing, ian came out quote and told me all the work that would be needed and sent a a quote quickly the Information provided was brilliant for making a choice, the lads who came on the day where lovely and identified who they were straight away. They worked through the day and were very clean and tidy hoovering as they went. I could recommend this company highly enough and when I was confused on setting the thermostat they rang and talked me through it and didnt make me feel silly!! NEW BOILER INSTALLEDExcellent service from Nicholson's. Needed boiler replaced asap. All done within 4 days. Friendly, helpful advice re type of boiler needed and work needing to be carried out at home visit on same day we contacted firm. Estimate and confirmation of date work could be carried out within a few hours same day. Can't fault communication. Engineers arrived as planned. Having just moved to the area we wanted to find a local company to replace an old central heating boiler. Made an enquiry to Nicholson Heating and had a prompt response and visit from John who explained what work would be done. Johnny and his team arrived on time and worked so hard to fit our ATAG boiler. It involved moving the boiler into the garage and removal of a hot water tank so there was some making good including brickwork which again was excellent.Everything was done with minimum disruption. Carpets were covered and everything cleared up. They were courteous, informative and helpful at every stage of the work.There was also problem not directly related to the installation which Nicholson's helped us with immediately.All the work and service was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending Nicholson Heating. I can understand the last post, however good electricians, plumbers and heating engineers are in short supply and sometimes struggle to meet demand. I've used many over the years but can tell you that Nicholson Heating Services is one of, if not the best I've used. They provide a good value boiler service which I have used.

Three days ago I rang them to explain that my Baxi Combi boiler had failed and they came within 4 hours to assess the problem. The system was completely blocked and ruined due to poor installation by another company. I was given a quotation for several system options the same day. Given their good advice I chose the cheapest and best system to meet my needs.

They started work the following day and were finished around 1pm the next day. That included removal of the old system, installation of the new system including water filter, complete flushing of the system and repair of a faulty radiator thermostat .... Wow, how quick is that for a major job?

Not only that, but they are an honest, friendly, very helpful family business .... they genuinely have my 100% recommendation. Thank you Guys! More...

Great experience - the service from Nicholson’s has been fantastic from start to finish. They quoted and fitted a new boiler in less than a week! All communication was very prompt, even when I had a query on a Sunday. They were efficient, clean whilst working, polite and helpful. They took the time to explain how the boiler and App works. This is now the third time I have had Nicholson Heating out. They originally arrived when my old boiler got a leak, and advised that it was beyond economic repair and actually in a dangerous condition. They quoted and fitted a new boiler quickly, giving us an excellent service throughout. Last year they let us know our boiler was due its annual service, times arranged and they arrived and carried out the service. This year and another reminder, this time we had a little issue with a leaking pipe, but when Ian arrived and saw the issue, he said no worries I will sort that for you. Before I knew it he was back to say all was finished, telling me what work had been carried out and that the pipe was fixed. Excellent service again, cant recommend this friendly company enough. We needed a boiler installed, they have provided us with a price list and after careful consideration me and my wife decided to go for the ATAG economiser with the one controller.
