What makes a great website?
A great website not only works well on desktop computers, tablets and mobile phones but it always acts as a powerful marketing tool for the business it represents. At The Nexus Agency we get to know our clients business and industry, before we create a website for them. This allows us to optimise the website to that it becomes a marketing asset for the business.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When a client comes to us to start a new project we get to know their business. This means we may ask about their ideal clients, the types of sectors they work in and where they want to see their business in the next few years. We do this because our focus is on helping our clients achieve their growth targets by using creative approaches to marketing their business and we are best placed to do this once we understand their vision.
Describe your creative process.
We take an initial brief from out clients on the look and feel they are trying to achieve. From this we produce an initial concept that is presented back to the client. We then work with the client to make any changes that are required and continue to do so until the client is completely happy.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
This depends on the project. A common question that we ask when producing printed marketing materials is the quantity require. With our web projects we produce quotes specific the site and complexity of the website. So this normally requests a discussion before the quote is sent over.
What do you love most about your job?
When we work with a business to provide a range of services backed up with a marketing strategy we get a great deal of satisfaction in seeing our clients businesses grow.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Gordon, the founder of Nexus had worked for one of the biggest software development houses in Glasgow for a number of years before starting Nexus. He decided that by establishing his own business and providing web services to business he could help them grow.
Since establishing the business Gordon has grown the company that now employees five other staff members and the business has evolved from a web company to providing a full range of design and marketing services to hundreds of businesses.

We provide a full range of promotional services for businesses what help make them more visible. We succeed when our clients businesses succeed. Offering a full range of promotional services allows us to work with the client to develop an overall marketing strategy, something that is much more difficult when using different suppliers. And while we offer the services many of the large agencies offer we don't charge crazy agency prices.
