I stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago and it was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are clean, bar area welcoming and the pool area very cosy. Breakfast was tasty. I enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi the most but also thought the decorations inside were very nice. Staff were very friendly and did everything to make us feel comfortable so thank you for that! The only issue was just the door in the room we were staying in. It kept making noises every time someone was passing in the corridor but other than that it was a perfect stay. More...

I was visiting the Lake District last week, booked an evening meal in the Newby Bridge Hotel, with family and friends, warm welcome on arrival from the receptionist, had a drink in the bar it was very nice wooden floors, and wood wall paneling, went into the dinning room for our meal, it was spacious and decor was lovely, we could choose from the restaurant menu ,or the bar menu, I had the fish it was delicious, with home made chips, the I had sticky toffee pudding, yum yum, everyone else enjoyed the meal as well, staff in restaurant were very good, disabled parking at entrance to hotel, would highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my visit here. Went for the carvery on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. Numerous dishes available for starters and the main course was huge. Several different types of meat available, pork beef, gammon and turkey in abundant amounts. Roast potatoes were beautiful and there were generous portion of vegetables. I was unable to eat pudding following the main course but did have coffee prepared just as like. I took home a doggy bag of meat that my dogs really loved. If you are in the Lake District pop in for a meal you will enjoy it.b More...

Bought a groupon voucher for a 2 night stay including breakfast both mornings . Main course meal on the 1st night and a lake cruise on Windermere. ||I contacted hotel before requesting a room with nice view.||On arrival we where greeted by a very nice friendly lady ( I think she was the manager)||Our room no 34 over looked the front of hotel towards lake edge. It was a family room a double and a single bed. Bathroom was quite modern with shower over bath. Nice towels. Good section of drinks and biscuits. ||We booked table for 7pm . The restaurant is beautiful .service excellent .food very good. We had starters.mains.desserts. ( the main course was included in price . Paid extra for starters & desserts).||Breakfast very nice . Help yourself.||Bar area serves drinks and bar food . It’s a bit of a disappointment in there as the service is a bit hit and miss ( we ordered food and didn’t arrive until 60 mins later ,they forgot to put order through) shame as this could be really good bar. there’s no where else to eat other than hotel across the bridge . So a bit more staff training in this department would be a good idea. ||Swimming pool area needs some attention, But was nice for a quick swim .hot tub didn’t work. Pool towels provided.||Hotel grounds very nice . ||Staff friendly.||Lake cruise voucher was a great asset .||Lovely sunny weekend in November More...

We stayed for 3 nights after travelling up from the Isle of Wight, the Lake District being our favourite spot. This hotel was in a good location, and we received excellent service from start to finish. Staying in a superior double, we enjoyed views of the water and a jacuzzi bath. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and we enjoyed a nice Sunday carvery during our stay. We have booked to get married here next September and both Lisa and Andrew were very accommodating in our plans. We look forward to enjoying our big day here and sharing this lovely experience with our guests! More...

The Newby Bridge Hotel is great value for a traditional inn/hotel in a perfect location to tour the South Lakes. Anyone who travels a lot will know that for some reason even the best hotel breakfast buffets have toaster that take three attempts/passes. .. the first two fail to brown the toast and the third attempt burns. Hence the pithy review title because this hotel had it spot on and I think is indicative of a great attention to detail. ||||I’ll admit in recent years I’d felt the hotel had lost its edge but was pleasantly surprised this visit with some refreshed decor, so new faces and clearly greater attention to the little things which allow a place to excel. Great food for the value, nice traditional bar and service which made it good value. ||||There are still a few areas that are a little tired but everyone and everything appear to be headed in the right direction. Recommend for location and service. More...

This was the second time Ive stayed at Newby Bridge so I knew what to expect in terms of accommodation and wasnt disappointed with a large room in reasonably good condition. Had an evening meal in the bar on two nights and the food was excellent - really enjoyed the Confit duck special. On the downside why do hotel bathrooms always seem in need of attention - the toilet didnt flush, a quick look in the cistern found the reason a disconnected handle - 30 seconds to fix but the room had been cleaned and prepared right . And who is goes around making sure toilet seats arent straight. All minor and a bit amusing really. I was however a bit disappointed to find breakfast on Saturday and Sunday didnt start until 8 am. It may be autumn and a weekend now but people still want to be out early, not sure I saw that when booking. More...

A table was booked for 6 of us. The hotel has a very large room to the rear. On a Sunday there’s a comprehensive buffet/carvery. The starters are self service and there’s plenty of choice. ||The carvery offers several meats cooked to perfection and not dried out like some carveries. The vegetables still had a crunch to them too, which was good to see. It was a very enjoyable meal. We all chose not to have a dessert. ||We were given a circular table too, which I always prefer if there’s a group. ||The waitresses were efficient and attentive. This Sunday carvery is very popular so booking is essential. More...
