New Dawn Resources provides HR services to small and medium sized businesses who do not have their own in-house HR support or who have one or two managers dealing with HR and could use some back up from time to time.

Our team is made up of three senior HR Business Partners and a HR Administrator. We are big enough to make sure there is always someone available to help you with an urgent problem, and small enough to provide a personal service.

We offer a full range of HR services covering the full employer/ employee relationship cycle from recruitment to dismissal, including:

• Recruitment – we offer a fixed price recruitment service and can do everything from drafting job descriptions, placing adverts, screening applicants, shortlisting and interviewing.

• Relationship management – we guide employers through the various stages of the employer/ employee relationship, including:

o Drafting offer letters and contracts of employment;
o Drafting Staff Handbooks or updating existing policies;
o Induction and training programmes – including preparation and delivery of bespoke training for your business;
o Guidance on employee rights;
o Dealing with family leave e.g. maternity leave;
o Appraisals and performance management procedures;
o Sickness reporting and monitoring, and absence management procedures;
o Dealing with misconduct issues and disciplinary procedures;
o Investigating health and safety incidents;
o Investigating and responding to grievances;
o Coping with restructuring teams and handling redundancy consultation;
o Dismissing staff when it becomes necessary to do so;
o Conducting appeal processes; and
o Negotiating exit packages and settlement agreements.

We provide the level of support that clients need – for some, we’re a source of advice at the end of the phone when needed, for others we prepare draft letters for staff and scripts for meetings, and for the rest we come out and conduct the meetings and procedures for the client – to save them time and hassle.

• Project management – we work on specific projects with clients, which could see us negotiating the exit of senior staff members, creating and introducing well-being packages for staff, working on significant restructuring programmes, consulting with staff about the takeover or merger of businesses, preparing and delivering bespoke training… and anything else you can think of!

• Employment Tribunals – we have our own in-house legal expert who worked as a specialist employment solicitor for over 10 years and is experienced in defending employment claims. We will provide a clear, staged, fixed fee quote for Employment Tribunal work so that you don’t find yourself stung by escalating costs. Please note that we do not act for claimants.

We are transparent on costs and can offer a fixed monthly charge for employer/ employee relationship management services if that is preferred and we are happy to work to fixed fees for all other work. Alternatively, you can ‘pay as you go’ for the services you use at our hourly rates, which are competitive.
