As soon as we set foot on New Close Farm we knew it was the venue for us! The panoramic views are amazing and that is just the start! There is more than enough room for any event, we had an outdoor wedding! This was a double tipi with an outdoor blessing looking out across Durham, we also had a mini tipi village to stay in over night! Jamie and Bev couldn't do enough to make our day run without a hitch and no request was a hassle! We couldn't recommend this place more, great value for money and a perfect setting for any occasion! After announcing our engagement, the next step was researching where we’d like our venue to be. We had a few issues with venues, the first one being that we didn’t want it to be ‘normal’, we wanted it to totally reflect who & what we are. Secondly, we had a huge problem with venues basically dictating who & what you could/couldn’t have at your own wedding; you had to have their food, their decorations & their drinks packages, thanks but no thanks! This is where the wonderful Bev & Jamie at New Close Farm Outdoor Wedding Venue came into the mix. We visited the farm & pretty much decided what we wanted; a Tipi at the very top of their events field so we could see the beautiful views of Durham. I’ll never forget the first time I walked up to the top of that field. What makes them so unique is that you can have pretty much anything you want, the only limit is your imagination! Both Bev & Jamie were on hand to answer any of our (sometimes silly!) questions & were there as much or as little as we needed them. They sorted out a generator for us as we needed a certain amount of power for our day & they also sorted out the hay bale seating area outside of our Tipis. They were on hand on build day, prep day & the wedding day in case we needed anything. If you truly want a Wedding that reflects you & your partner then don’t be afraid to fully do it yourself. Immerse yourself in generators & toilet trailers, wood fired pizzas & horsebox bars & really enjoy the whole thing! Even if you’re unsure, you could also hire a wedding planner to do it for you & still have the most amazing wedding at New Close Farm. To Bev & Jamie, thank you so much for everything, for making our wedding dreams become a reality & helping us along when we needed it. Perfect spot for a unique wedding - the only limit is your imagination! We held our wedding reception in tipis on the farm on Friday 26th April 2019. Lovely location with fab views across the Durham countryside, plus Bev and Jamie (with additional family) are some of the nicest people you will work with.
