A magical place tucked away in the hills of North Cornwall. Innovative lodging, friendly staff and beautiful nature. Close to many great pubs, the sea and all the activities on offer in this part of the country. Hiking and surfing are highly recommended. Both can the be followed by some time in the wood fired hot tube and BBQ by the open fire. More...

I absolutely loved my stay here. the land that this retreat is built on is magical, the kudhvas are very unique, and the host Louise is wonderful, warm and accommodating. this place is wild, and it was just what i needed to reconnect with nature. I hope it stays that way. I stayed 2 nights in my tent nessled between the trees, and 1 night in a kudhva. there is a big barn kitchen with pretty much everything you need. the showers and toilets are clean. As a yogi, the only thing I found missing is a flat sheltered surface to do my self-practice on. however there is a deck at the Danish cabin which, if it's not booked out, you could use (and they have a yoga class there every sunday). I understand tho, thay this is a specific requirement that most people wouldn't be bothered about. it would however be a great addition to an awesome place. the surrounding coastlines are just stunning, and easy to drive to. Louise was so helpful in recommending hidden treasures of this land :) Thank you kudhva, I hope to visit you again. x More...

We stayed in K3 for 3 nights and despite being a little unlucky with the weather on one of the days, had a really incredible time. K3 backs on to what feels like total secluded wilderness (with its own fire pit a slight climb up which was a highlight for us) It requires a bit of maneuvering to get into the top section where the bed is (up two small sets of ladders) but once up there it’s really comfy, there’s a window you can easily stargaze from (there’s 0 light pollution so the sky is beautiful at night) and we had some incredible night’s sleep there. The grounds are beautiful and exploring the old engine house, heather dips (where there’s a great viewing point of the coast) Danish cabin and waterfall were some favourite moments. It is a slight scramble in places (including the ‘adventurous route’ which got quite slippy in the rain), and I’d really recommend making sure you take sensible shoes especially if you’re wanting to climb and explore properly, but it all adds to the feeling of complete wilderness/ adventure! There is a lot to do close by to the site, and they have some great recommendations on their map (pinned while we were there in the communal area), it’s also very much worth speaking to Louise about what she recommends. We visited Temple and Strong Adolfos Cafe for breakfast- both incredible, the Port William pub with really nice views of Trebarwith Strand- the nearest beach, Port Gaverne, Port Isaac and Bossiney Cove which was one of our favourite beach spots. We also travelled to the Eden Project on a rainy day which wasn’t far at all. What really made the trip for both of us was the Hot tub! The views are incredible yet it’s secluded, and the price for the 2 hour time slot was really good value for money. The one thing that could have made the experience better would have been locks on the inside of the toilet and shower doors or even just ‘occupied’ signs for the outside. They’re kept open and although most people knocked to check before entering- it is quite tense worrying about people walking in. Towels would have also been great as we definitely didn’t take enough- but that’s definitely more comfort/ convenience than necessity. Other than that, we had a great time and would definitely recommend to others. April & Richard More...

A crazy and wonderful place, more like a community than just accommodation! You get what you give at the Kudhva, it’s a place where you really need to throw yourself into it to make the most of the amazing experience it has to offer, so go scramble down woodland paths to the waterfall raft and go do some front flips into the reservoir (spotting/dodging the dragonflies is easy when they’re basically the size of actual dragons! ). Also talk to everyone! From the staff to the guests the Kudhva attracts all sorts of folk; families, professors, dancers and people from across the globe find their way to this secluded hideaway. The range of experiences you’re exposed to through the stories these people have to tell gives you an insight into just how much life has to offer. Even a short stay provided a truly memorable experience and I wouldn’t want to spoil the surprises awaiting you so go and try it for yourself! More...

We stayed in the tentsiles in Kudhva for a July weekend with our two children. We had an inspiring, magical stay, and came back feeling like we’d been away longer. The tentsiles were very comfortable, fun for the kids and waking up looking at the trees tops and the blue sky, breathing the fresh air, is true luxury. We grilled steaks (bought from the Hilltop Farm Shop nearby) on the Viking firepit, from where the views are like from a movie set. We loved the area - beaches are out of this world - and were blessed with a warm, sunny weather. Winter (Spanish rescue dog) stole our hearts and Missisippi, the naughty goat, tried to steal our food. Endless entertainment for the kids. We met lots of lovely, friendly people around the communal table and sat there chatting late into the night. Louise is great fun, relaxed and hands-on host, and it was very interesting to hear her story how the Kudhva came about. The swim in the little lake surrounded by cliffs, by the waterfall, was super refreshing for both body and mind - you feel completely immersed in the stunning wild nature. Same with the outdoor yoga session on Saturday morning, which was guided by an excellent teacher. There are hot showers and flushing toilets, and a hot tub on top of the hill. Communal kitchen has everything you need. We cooked breakfasts and made pancakes. The buildings and interiors have been created with modern, artistic eye and lightness and simplicity that lets the nature take a centre stage. If you’d like to have an outdoor experience like no other, and don’t mind your kids turning into little wildlings for the time, couldn’t recommend it more! More...

Oh wow this place is amazing. Spent last weekend here and we really didn't want to leave... Louise has created this wonderful environment of quirks and special features, very rough around the edges which just makes it better, in my opinion. I really switched off and enjoyed being outside; we were out in the sticks but felt simultaneously that we could live there no problem! Everyone who was there for the same weekend was lovely, and the community feel is probably what makes it extra memorable. You can totally do your own thing, or chill out with everyone else. #kudvibesarethebestvibes More...

Where do I start? This incredible creation far outweighs anything I’ve experienced for a long time. My visit last weekend (a late booking) meant I couldn’t hire one of the pods. They are architecturally outstanding, standing alone, hidden within the woodland reached by walking along winding pathways, secluded with your own private space. My home for the night was a simple tent suspended with trees, which was a new experience for me, also in a pocket of the quarry with your own area, where no-one disturbs you. I instantly forgot about anything other than being in there, the whole purpose for my weekend. After a swim in the lake, a walk within the grounds, discovering the goats, the hot tub and watching the sunset I decided not to venture to the local pub which not far away. Louise (the owner) and all her staff are amazing. Their passion for the growing project and their vision and ethos is beautiful. I could try hard to explain it all but I wouldn’t be doing it justice. It’s something everyone needs to see and experience themselves to understand. I just wished I was able to stay longer. More...

Stayed at Kudhva for three nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend and since coming back, not a day has gone by where I haven't wished I was back there. This, quite simply, is an absolutely breathtaking experience. Kudhva is absolutely out of this world. From the uniquely designed tall Kudhva cabins to the suspended tree tents, you're sure to find yourself staying in an environment you've never experienced before. This is not camping, nor is it glamping. It's a spiritual experience and awakening. The site is as beautiful as it is wild and untamed. Fantastic facilities, breathtaking views and natural wonders everywhere you look ensure you'll find yourself in a position of ultimate comfort and enlightenment. Kudhva is a place to push yourself. A place to truly switch off from life and the digital world. We were blessed to meet amazing new people and share some fantastic experiences with them. Sitting round a campfire with strangers, glugging red wine and pumping out Bowie is quite something. As is sitting in the secluded hot-tub with no light other than candles and the stars.. Kudhva owes it's glory to its remarkable mother. Louise has created something truly unique and out of this world. She's a fantastic host and a character you've definitely not met before. She's a force of nature and she should be immensely proud of Kudhva. We can't wait to get back there! There's so much I could write and so much I'd love to say, but Kudhva should be seen and felt, it shouldn't be read about. Just get yourself there. More...

It is a beautiful untouched piece of land , that you have to learn how to navigate and live in. The barn is equipped with great basic necessities, and works entirely off grid. We met wonderful people, foraged for mussels at the local beach, surfed, swam wild and slept under the stars. Louise is an incredibly inspirational character, who oozes enthusiasm for everything she is doing. The Kudhva buildings are pieces of architectural beauty, with breath taking views out across the valley. We had an incredible time and will be back again and again to see how it develops. So, my partner and I arrived at this place called Kudhva, a wild and romantic chunk of slate-quarry land on the Cornish coast. We'd driven from Brighton, not really knowing what or where we were going to, but followed the satnav and found it first time (drive round the corner from where it drops you off, it's this little hand-painted, friendly sign on the right, and a drive that winds upwards) When we arrived it was all blustery and the land was beautiful with it's colours of heather, greens and yellows - I felt the miles driven dissappear as we made our way up past various things hanging in the trees to the communal block (which in itself is great!) We were greeted by Louise's two young smiling boys, who instantly put a beer in our hands and crisps on the table before getting back to their games - very easy to fall for the charms of these greeters. Louise herself is wonderful, so warm and friendly that you can't help but be put at ease. Inspiring, easy to talk to you and full of positivity. She will tell you the story of Kudvha and you will be hooked. We joined the other guests that were there around the table and ate, drank and chatted into the night - Kudhva attracts people that you just want to get to know! We stayed in both a Kudhva and a tentsile and although I would recommend both, I'd always stay in a Kudhva - it was such a great experience. This bizarre, beautiful, architectual, geometric pod that sits on stilts in secluded areas around the site. When we stayed in one it was blowing a gail and pouring with rain, which was so, so great to see from inside! There's also a hot tub that you can stoke up and enjoy - ask Louise to start the fire going to warm the water. So yes, really, it is a special place. One of those that you don't come across that often. Be prepared to let Kudhva seduce you and immerse yourself in it's wild charms. More...
