Nel's Tax Help has been a sanity-saver for me. Due to my late-husband's many life-events over the last few years, I was painfully behind with taxes after he passed this year. Shan-Nel expertly guided me through what she would need, encouraged and reminded me as many times as I needed it. I'm all caught up now, and this year's projection is in a much more positive light now, since the past is out of view. Patience and skill are a valuable, and powerful combination. More...

Time is your most important asset because it is the only thing that cannot be replenished. The more time you send on trying to handle a task you (1) hate and (2) do not fully understand, you are wasting time you can be (1) doing what you love and (2) earning more money. Also, since your money is usually in the top five of your most important assets, you do not want it to be mismanaged. Inaccurate record keeping can be costly to fix; and it can come with heavy penalties (I have assessed many of people and business owners while working for the IRS who could have avoided additional taxes, penalties, and interest if they had a good accountant).

I genuinely love the relief I am able to provide my customers. It humbles me every day that they trust me to handle their financial affairs. It causes me to always perform at my absolute best.

I always knew I wanted to start my own business. But during the years I worked for the federal government, I would sit across individuals' kitchen tables or in long boardrooms and always have the same thought -- if they had someone on their team proactively looking out for them, I most likely would not be here. So I figured I can do more to help people, businesses, and the government if I left the government to get the returns substantially right at filing versus trying to correct it during a tax audit.

I enjoy working with my clients. I love answering questions and providing updates. Also, how often will you have someone who is a tax specialist (I'm an enrolled agent), with an accounting education and working background, who also worked for the IRS? More importantly, how often will you get that level of professionalism and expertise without paying a hefty hourly rate?
